Having been here before we were disappointed in this visit. The lamb was full of gristle and basically inedible. And while the pork chop itself was prepared well, the accompanying greens were overly salty.
The filet was very well executed though
All and all not up to Boulevard’s reputation
Hadn't been here for years. I had forgotten how wonderful a restaurant this is. The food was incredible.

Having been here 20 years ago, I had high expectations. The service was good, but several things occurred to disappoint. I had the gnocchi with brussel sprouts, and when the dish came out, the brussel sprouts were hard as rocks, clearly undercooked, even though they were simply steamed. I let the server know that I would need a sharper knife to cut through them, and he quickly said, "I'll bring you some new ones, you aren't the only one with that problem." The dish itself was tasty, but not worth the 29.50 charged for about 6 ounces of gnocchi sitting on a very small amt of bolognese sauce on the bottom. When dessert was ordered, they brought new spoons, and the server placed mine face down, and I could clearly see something stuck to the back of the spoon. Hard to believe he didn't see it as well. I had to ask for a new spoon. So sad that this once wonderful restaurant has fallen in quality, value and care.
My wife and I have birthdays that are one day apart. We have dined at Boulevard many times in the past and I love going there for special occasions. The food was outstanding.
Great experience, as expected
The staff went above and beyond for the birthday celebration dinner I was having. There was a birthday card from the staff and even dessert. I look forward to future celebration dinners at Boulevard.

My two guests had halibut and pork, respectively. They were very happy. I had lamb slices and was unhappy. The pieces of lamb were skimpy and more like remnants than slices. It was too dark to establish what the accompanying items on the plate were. The lamb remnants were overcooked, for me. I regret that I did not say something to the waiter about my dis appointment. The wine was reasonably priced. The staff were very welcoming. The noise was more than I like, but livable.

The experience was OK. Service was great. My friend ordered the lamb. I guess it was ok... the gnocchi was my choice.... the portion was appetizer size. Salty. The Brussel sprouts were barely cooked through. Hated it. My host was unaware.... kept my trap shut. FYI
The quality of food and service has always be consistently good. It’s conveniently located at SF downtown. You may catch the nice view of the Bay Bridge at the back door area (although not inside the restaurant). Service was professional. Too bad I didn’t get a chance to taste the seared foie gras there anymore. The food overall was good, except the wagyu beef carpaccio, which was below expectation. I like this restaurant because most customers are more mature, unlike others who have younger groups who make too much noise. It’s a great place for gatherings with friends when you want to enjoy nice chats.

My wife and I go to Boulevard every year for our anniversary. The food is always great and the servers are friendly and helpful. My wife had the pork chop which was beautiful. Pork chops can be dry and tasteless but this was not that. I had the filet which was a little disappointing because it was not as tender as I had expected. Having said that, it was still great. We brought a friend here for lunch this summer. She is a serious foodie, having owned a restaurant and a catering business. She loved the food, the atmosphere and she fell in love with the sommelier. Needless to say we’ll be back again next year. Or probably sooner.
Best food and service in San Francisco. We celebrate our anniversary there every year.
We have been coming here for special occasions for 15 years. It is never old or predictable. The food is always exquisite. The service is attentive without being intrusive. The space is special. This is THE special place for your special evening.

Overall a pleasant experience, quiet enough to comfortable talk, innovative menu. Highlight was a beef carpaccio with wild mushrooms -- awesome combination of taste and texture. The hot dishes were good, but both quail and lamb were served warm rather than hot. They seemed to be sitting out there waiting to be served. Cote du Rhone wine was great.
Best year after year , every time never lets down
Fortunately we had been to Boulevard a couple of months ago and our experience was wonderful. The service during our most recent visit left much to be desired.
The young woman who was assigned to our table was less than attentive. We had a reservation, were there on time and yet after being seated, other tables with guests seated after us were given service before us. At the end of our meal we placed orders for desserts and coffee. Two of the three coffee orders were brought before desserts were served. Our server was around but we couldn’t get her attention until desserts had been served. When she was asked about the missing coffee our server commented that she (the guest) had changed her mind. It was 10+ minutes before the third coffee was served...after dessert was eaten. Giving 3 stars for service rather than 1 because we don’t want to reflect negatively on the male assistant server...who would have 5 stars from us.
On a positive note, the male assistant server who brought bread, water, and cleared our table was delightful! He was attentive, personable, and efficient!
Our meals were excellent, we love the ambience of this restaurant, and we will return.
The food was outstanding and our waiter was attentive, informative and overall made our experience delightful.
