We dined at your restaurant on Sunday. The service was fantastic and the cocktails were amazing
Lovely family meal . Service with a smile thank you
Decent Sunday roast and brillant service
Best service in town . Steaks are great .
Have eaten at Bourgee many years in Southend, Norwich and Chelmsford. Disappointed as been twice since they have reopened rand the lobster bites (my favourite) have had no lobster in at all just 6 prawns. And although I enjoyed them it’s not the same. Come on Bourgee call it something else or put the Lobster back in.
A lovely meal
Good quality food service was a bit slow but to be expected following reopening
I marked that the table was for birthday celebrations yet there was no special made of reference to this. The service was slow, we ordered drinks and they did not all arrive until 30 minutes after we sat down. When the drinks did arrive there was only two and then took a further 10 minutes for our third drink to arrive. We also ordered bread for the table and they only brought out two rolls baring in mind there was three of us. We then had to wait a further 15 minutes for an additional roll. The food was very nice but it’s a shame about the service. We got our main course around 9.45pm baring in mind our table was booked for 8. This was frustrating because the table next to us were seated after us and received their meals and drinks before us. I didn’t feel as safe as other restaurants in regards to covid-19. No PPE was worn at all, not even a mask.
Lovely meal really enjoyed and good value for the lunch menu and 2-4-1 cocktails. Very nice decor
The most incredible food and service we were absolutely blown away with our meals and in such a beautiful restaurant too. Highly recommend!
Lovely food great service . Will recommend
Such a warm welcome and friendly personal service. Food first rate.
Food to die for . Great chefs and lovely service .
We will return with family
Sat down and Waited nearly a hour for our drinks.
Starter came and didn’t even finish my last bite and the mains come out.
Dirty plates were left on our table for ages.
Whole meal was £100 and just felt like we were forgotten.
Would defo not go back.
Complete let down. Offered a tiny table definitely not 2 metres from the ones around it so asked to move. Very reduced menu offering only very expensive champagne nothing mid range at all on food or drink. Waitress couldn’t open our wine and broke cork whilst telling us she was the new manager and chelmsford was her baby. Waited 50 minutes for substandard starters. Steak was steak but no mustard available. Waitress / manager said she would sort us out to apologise but the full bill came. We paid and left.
Over booked and understaffed restaurant with miserable customers because of it.
Staff were amazing so friendly have helpful we had a lovely meal the food was outstanding and decently value for money would decently go back no questions asked
Good food, great service- one of our favourite places to eat
Really lovely food and service. Recommend the cocktails, wednesday night wasnt busy at all.
Appalling. This was meant to be a special birthday meal. No one greeted us at the entrance, so went inside anyway. The waitress tried to sit us at a tiny table at the window even though the restaurant was practically empty, but we asked to go to a larger table which she begrudgingly let us. Then proceeded to tell us the eight or nine items that were not available from the menu, including the lobster. We left moments later.
Don’t give this place your custom. They have closed down twice before, and we can totally understand why.
First class food and service, for an extremely reasonable price.
We had a lovely birthday meal at Bourgee.
Food was tasty and the manager was very helpful.
Birthday board written in Chocolate was lovely.
Sunday roast good portion . Artwork not suitable
Service was a high light
Fantastic food and service
Waited over and hour for food. Service was terrible and then steak was under cooked
Me and my girlfriend went here for our anniversary and the service was absolutely terrible. Whilst the food was okay, we was waiting for around 2 hours before we actually got our main courses which is shocking given that it wasn’t too busy at the time. If you fancy a nice steak, I would recommend Middletown’s or Miller and Carter instead, both are nearby and always provide a great service.
Burger was tasty and the service was amazing - enjoyed with friends
Great meal with friends lovely service. Booked for Mother’s Day
Fantastic service , lovely restaurant
Always a lovely meal at Bourgee, great service and food
Lunch with the ladies
Special lunch at Bourgee Chelmsford, couldn’t fault anything.
The service was fantastic and the afternoon tea was lovely.
We will be back
We had a fantastic meal . Will recommend to all my friends.
Service was wonderful and food was tasty
Very good service, friendly and polite. Food was ok.
We were gutted when it shut down the first time, and returning after it reopened we hoped it would be how we remembered.
The food was amazing as always!
Had exactly same afternoon tea about 2 years ago before it closed for a while and was double the size of what we had Saturday, very disappointed. Was also given a teapot with lid too big for pot which could have resulted in one of us being scalded
Been here a few times , never disappointed.
Was a busy day and staff doing all they can to help.
We had a lovely time
Decent steak . So much flavour and perfect seasoning. Wine was magnificent and service was top notch
Very nice dining experience, our waiter was very attentive and readily available, he definitely deserves 10 stars, he was amazing. Our food and service was extremely prompt and out glasses never remained empty for too long. The service was the best part of our visit
It took us 10 minutes to get sat at the bar and they didn’t even ask for my name for the booking I made, sitting down at the table was ok but took 1 hour for us to offer our food we got there at 8.30 and didn’t leave till 11, maybe need more staff on as it was valentines weekend
This was my first time going to this restaurant and it was a real disappointment. My boyfriend and I have been together for nearly 10years and this is the first year we decided to go out and celebrate Valentine’s Day and I’m not sure we will again after the dinner. There seem to be only 3 people working in a full restaurant. It also took a long time to for food and drinks to arrive. The starter was satisfactory at best and the lobster we order was rubbery. The best part of the meal was the tequila rose shots and the chips.
