We love the live music , it adds to the experience :)
Food okay, service was poor, noise was way too loud, no menu for wine or beer.
The food and service are excellent but the parking availability is quite a problem.
Great food, great cocktails! We had a wonderful time.
We caught up with some friends for brunch today. We had a 11:30 reservation. We all arrived at 11:15am . No problem they weren't busy. We sat outside. They came and asked if we knew what we wanted straight away. We just sat down. So we ordered drinks my wife and I had Ice tea, the other couple had coffee. They came out 10 mins later with the coffee and the Ice tea, They took our order 1 French toast 2 Omelets, I ordered the Chiliquilas.
We didn't get the food until almost 12:30. We asked them for refills on coffee. It was taking so long I joked that was going to hit up the jack in box down the street. The food comes finally, One omelet and one French toast, then 5 mins later theo the omelet and the chiliquilias. We reminded them about the drink refills. Well I started to dig in to the chiliquilias. The poached egg was not cooked and the food was cold. 5 mins later they came back with the Ice teas. The coffee never came. I told the server about the chiliquilias. They apologized I asked if they had a premade muffin or something quick. They said no they would have to cook it again. Everyone was almost done with their meal we had been sitting there for over an hour. I told them forget it we had been there over an hour. They did take the inedible food off the bill. it was still over $60. I did end up at jack in the box.
The best new restaurant to open in San Jose. We eat out 5 plus times a week (yes, we are retired) so we have eaten in most of the restaurants in the Bay Area. The staff is knowledgeable, very attentive, they know their food and glad to share their favorites. Do yourself a favor, and try this new refreshing, classy and yes, delicious restaurant.
Owner chef has something special going on in Willow Glen. Food is Michelin’s level rated in my opinion but they need more service support. Overall I’m grateful they have a presence in the area.
The food was great. We tried a variety of things and it paid off.
The food was amazing and the service is great. The selection of food for vegetarians is great. Absolutely loved it, can’t wait to come back
Our food was an hour late, we were told that the kitchen was slammed, but overall the food and drinks were amazing
Excellent cocktails and the mushroom crostini was fabulous! Porchetta and the salmon were also excellent.
I wish we hadn’t waited so long to try this place, everything was amazing!! Great creative drinks and such good food. Ate and drank our way through the menu, can’t wait to go back and try more and for the next seasonal options. Definitely recommend!
**not pictured: cheese beignets.. soft, pillowy goodness.. get them!
Nobody came to take our orders until we had to finally flag someone down and waters weren’t refilled. They weren’t that busy so it was disappointing.
Good food and service. Not a ton of menu options.
I love the staff, the menu/food, and the cocktails are amazing. The staff allows you to order as you go without feeling rushed-great place for sharing. Thanks for another great experience.
One of our favorite restaurants in Willow Glen!
Inventive and delicious dishes. Great use of local seasonal produce. Well presented.
Braise was great, they had an interesting selection of entres it was limited to approximately 8 items. Although it had a wide range between styles of dining/food. For example they offered a burger, but they also offered a daily fish. The fish was served as it would be at a higher end restaurant (not at a burger place), head and tail on, server deboned it at the table. What was odd was that it was the fish only with no sides. At a higher end restaurant you typically have a choice of protein, fish, chicken, steak, and the option to purchase from a list of starches (potatoes, rice, etc), and a list of vegetables. They had just the fish and did not offer any sides of vegetables, or starches for purchase. It didn't seem appropriate for this style of dining. The steak however came with veg and potatoes. Almost half a foot in and half a foot out of higher end dining. Service was slower but they had limited servers and a packed restaurant likely due to post covid rush, overall great dining experience with friends and all of the food was delicious. Would go back and would recommend.
Braise is a great find and a nice break from all the cookie-cutter dining spots that populate the South Bay. Start with one of their super-inventive cocktails -- take your time with the cocktail list and ask you server who will give some great insights to ingredients. Cocktails are big city, craft cocktail bar quality. Cheddar beignets are a must for a share starter - we ordered a second helping! We shared some really nice fresh salads -- spicy green papaya salad and the beet salad with the potato cheese hash was a winner. Fried chicken with little biscuits and homemade hot sauce and dill pickles was a perfect shared main after the shares and salads. Awesome, authentically friendly service from Annie who was helpful and made us feel like regulars. If you want a great night out in a friendly spot with an elevated cocktail menu and a thoughtful, inventive and modern menu that is great for sharing, this is the spot. We will become regulars
Absolutely our favorite spot in San Jose! Fresh ingredients, cozy atmosphere, excellent bar selection - for casual evening or special occasions, a must!
Good was very good, but service very slow
First time visit. Nice ambiance although a a loudly energetic group of regulars at the bar kept conversation down until some of them left. Service was friendly and knowledgeable. Menu is a mixture of small, medium and large plates. For two of us we shared 2 small, 2 medium and 1 large. We would have been fine with slightly less but we got to take home some leftovers which we ate the next day. We enjoyed trying all the different flavors.
Food was really good. The menu descriptions don’t do justice to the fact there there are some nicely thought out flavor combinations in the dishes. We really enjoyed both the beet salad and the green papaya salads. The beignets are a must order. The fried chicken is very good. We’re looking forward to coming back to try more of the dishes. Cocktails were also unique and tasty. Summary, a really nice bistro that can be your favorite neighborhood place.
Such a great dinner, complete with drinks. The ambiance is great - very well decorated. Impressive bar and well thought out food. Will be a regular! Only suggestion I would have would be to label what is vegan.
We ordered a variety of items and drinks everything was delicious! They were busy but our server was on it, as well as everyone else that we interacted with. Highly recommend and will definitely return!
Really good food and unique menu, which I loved. Really neat drink creations as well and I will be back to try more!
Unfortunately the place felt understaffed at the moment, as most restaurants are. Dishes came in a strange order and we didn’t see our waiter nearly enough as he was very busy. I’m sure this will pick up in the future. Also, a diner felt like she had to bring her very aggressive and loud dog which barked at everyone. This is not a slight on the restaurant at all, but a reminder for diners to leave your pets at home because it’s a freaking restaurant!!!
Great atmosphere, innovative and delicious food.
Great food and specialty drinks.
Best restaurant in WG. A great overall experience.
Service team was attentive and food was delicious, as always. Will be returning.
Best cocktails in the area. Syrus is a genius! The food menu always has some new surprises and some d favorites and the service is friendly and well-paced. We’ll be back again soon.
Braise is a great place for a nice meal and craft cocktails. Seasonal Menu varies with great selections.
Love the new outdoor area. Very good food! Like how they describe the different drinks and amazing fried chicken. Love the interesting flavors.
My husband and I freaking love this place. Have never had a bad dish here and are excited when the menu changes so we can try new things. We imagine this being “our place” where the staff know our names like Cheers. I assume we’d have to eat here twice a week to make that happen, and that would be out of our budget. But we will keep trying. Thanks, Juan, for always taking care of us.
We went at 5:30, not too many people there yet, but our food took 45mins to arrive and was cold when it got to us. The food tasted fine, but was not worth the wait or the high price. We probably won’t return here. Sienna Bistro just down the street has a similar priced menu, but overall better.
The apps were delicious! Got the dill pickles, chickpea fries, and the cheddar beignets. Don’t pass these up! The pickles were fantastic, a bit expensive for a small dish of pickles, but so tasty! The shared plates were ok. This place is a powerhouse for apps and I would definitely come back for those and the cocktails.
The servers acted like they didn’t want to be there. They were not very friendly. Service was slow and it took forever to get the check when we were done with the meal
Great place for Brunch. A little on the noisy side so be prepared to raise your voice to have a conversation. They do also have outdoor seating which is better on the noise side, but then you have cars driving by to deal with. Overall though, I would recommend Braise, the food was excellent and the service was great!
I had a great Father’s Day brunch with my son!
