Service wasn’t great and it was super loud. We had a reservation but still had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated. Hostess grabbed our menus from under a dirty, wet rag and took them to our table. Server was very slow bringing a bottle of wine and appetizer to the table (we had to inquire about both). I ordered the gnocchi and it was good, but was warm, not hot, when served. Signed up for the online option to receive the $25 off and had to have a manager involved to get the discount. Not impressed with this visit.

They had no lemons, limes, or oranges. They ran out of bread. The pasta was undercooked, and we waited 1/2 hour for a beer. Hoping it was an off night.

My booth was missing springs and the leather was split. I ordered the Chicken Limone and it looked like a fried egg and tasted fishy. Like, I wasn't sure that I wasn't eating fish for my first few bites. This was a Saturday night and I expected something fancier. I guess that's my bad. Should've gone to Olive Garden for half the price

We were hoping for a great meal and good service and were unimpressed. The service was not good. I felt our server took a must have taken a break while we were there. She brought our food and my husband’s drink was empty, he ordered another and he was basically done with his food when she arrived with it. I had to ask another waiter for bread and to refill my water. Prices were high, especially for my very small cocktail I ordered. The food overall was just very average, which was unfortunate for the price. My husband’s pasta was undercooked. The spac is beautiful and they had plenty of staff, just not enough actually serving customers.

The food and service was excellent. We enjoyed being able to take in the Plaza Lights. We must mention that the HVAC was not working as it should and was a little cold during our time at Brio. This has happened before to us and would suggest that a new HVAC be installed or make sure the current one is working for the best customer experience.

We went with a party of eight, and we’re mortified! Our history there every Christmas for the last eight years have been fantastic! We were so sad to find how bad this place had gotten. The food was absolutely horrendous and extremely low quality. Everyone was disappointed! Also, the server ate food directly from a bowl on my table. When I told him I didn’t like the dish very much to try to see if it was good or not. Seriously.

Short staffed meant slower service, both table side and bar side. The bartender was fairly new and had a hard time with drinks. Felt bad for the waitress as she was taking care of half the restaurant herself. It looked as if the kitchen was short staffed also. We went on a Wednesday night hoping it wouldn't be too busy and it wasn't, but still had a long wait time for our drinks and food once ordered.

This used to be a favorite. We were able to make reservations at 7 but clearly they shouldn’t have had openings because they couldn’t handle the crowd. Yes it was dance night for many highschools but even moreso they shouldn’t have had open reservations and they blamed this on Open Table. We had calamari, salads, and wine but never got water refills and never got our main dishes. The manager apologized and said if we wanted to leave it was our choice and to make up for it we would just be charged for the wine. We told him we had a new puppy at home in her crate and couldn’t wait any longer. Then we waited for the bill which was talking more time so I took him a $20 and he became angry saying our bill was $45 because we had calamari. I said “oh that’s right I forgot but you did say you’d just be charging is for the wine”…he became even angrier so my husband handed him $60 and the manager said “Sir you need to wait and give that to your server”! We couldn’t wait any longer because we had a new puppy at home. We had our first date here 16 years ago. We actually would’ve been more understanding if the manager wouldn’t have turned into a jerk.

Waitress was great, atmosphere was ok. Food person was large, but all food was just so so, mostly bland. We got the chicken Limone, which was 3 pieces of chicken breast cooked in what looked like scrambled eggs!!! No taste, even in lemon piccata sauce. Mashed potatoes where a plain and unseasoned. Brocollini was hard, stringy tasteless. The chicken with the Milanese was better, but the house marinara was tasteless and thin and sparse. The chocolate cake is actually a flourless chocolate cake, also tasted plain. Won’t be going back.

It took a long time to get food. The chicken and potatoes were underseasoned and the asparagus was bitter. The Caesar salad was limp. The server said you have to request bread because they have to walk a long way and go downstairs. Very expensive lesson

We travel to Kansas City every year and our institution requires that we have separate checks. The waitress initially said she was not going to do 6 different checks. We have done this at Brio every year prior to this. I was about to tell her that alcohol needed to be on separate tabs as well but she was very adamant that she was not going to separate the checks so I asked for a manager. She walked away for a moment and then came back and said that she could divide the checks but still refused to separate the alcohol. we recognize that this is a huge issue, but we spend and average of $500 per visit to Brio BEFORE tips. We love the food there and are saddened that we will probably not be able to go there next year because of this.

Unfortunately my experience wasn't great. Walking in there was and air conditioning problem. They had a giant unit hanging from the ceiling to help but it was loud and didn't fix the humidity issue. The place has really gone downhill since covid. The floor is looking dated. The seating looks really rough as well. I can overlook the visuals as long as service and food is good. However, our waiter had our order wrong. We had the wrong pasta brought out and the wrong salad options as well. Wrong dishes came out at random times. The pasta my dad ordered wasn't great and came at the same time as his salad. We also ordered the lobster bisque soup - an old favorite. It was very thick and extra salty not something I finished. Once we finally got the bill we had issues with it being incorrect. Our waiter was super uncomfortable and I felt sorry to have to ask to fix everything the whole night. Not a great experience.

This is the second time we've been to Brio on the Plaza and the A/C is not working. As a workaround they had huge portable units running - which were very loud and detracted from the Father's Day dinner. Also they didn't cool the space that well. Too bad as the food was good and the service was also very good.

I love BRIO and the food and service is consistent no matter which location I choose. I had tried in the past in Las Vegas, Columbus, Palm Beach and this time is in Kansas City. They are all so good. The carpaccio is an absolute dish to start with. The spinach and artichoke dip is SO good! All the entrees are expectedly good too. Service are good everywhere too. Highly recommended.
