Excellent food, service was excellent as well. Friendly servers and attentive.
Food was good but all 3 drinks were watered down and lacking flavor unlike our previous experiences. Table was not cleaned/cleared before our dessert was served...
We enjoyed our three dishes - lettuce wraps, coconut noodle soup, and tea leaf salad. All were fresh and delicious. Service was prompt and attentive. We enjoy this restaurant and will be back.
delicious food and fun atmosphere. Good service - very attentive.
I had lunch here and tried the tea leaf salad, pork curry and string beans. All of the flavors are delightful and especially the tea leaf salad. It is a nice ambiance inside and a great place to meet with friends.
Loved the food and the service was great. Nice feel to the place, but the high ceilings make it so loud that it was hard to hear the waiter or even across the table.
Food was great, ambience is good. Some unique flavors. Quantity is a bit smaller than what you typically see in US Asian restaurants, in my opinion its the right size. The tables are close to each other and its a small space overall. We were there early evening on a weekday and had reservations, but we were seated up against a wall without much space, and had to ask to be moved to a better table. We were celebrating my wife's birthday and were very happy with the overall experience.
How could you go wrong with eating under a Chihuly lamp. Food is great. Some of the meat dishes could use some vegetables. Wait for food could be a little slow, but well worth the wait. Great leisure meal. Must have the tea leaf salad. If you like cabbage, ask for the traditional Burmese version.
We had our work team holiday party lunch for 7 - and it was fantastic. Food was excellent, and service was timely. Thanks!
Great food, great service, on a weekday evening in Palo Alto we didn’t have to wait and were served promptly, friendly, and non-intrusively.
The service with this place is a hit or a miss. We keep going back because of the food. Today’s customer service was a definite miss. We ordered the Tea Leaf Salad and my husband requested chillies on the side. Our server forgot about it and not accessible or visible enough for us to get his attention. Only when the other server brought out main dishes out and we were close to finishing the salad, did we get the chili sauce on the side from the second server. The Tea Leaf Salad definitely had more oil this time and some ingredient (couldn’t pinpoint) tasted a bit stale...maybe the yellow lentils. But we enjoyed the rest of the food. At the end, when our server came to take away the dishes, he took away the scooper spoon that came with my fresh coconut juice. I asked for it and it took him a few minutes to come back with it. And then this other server just took away my daughter’s plate while she was still working on it. Granted there were just little Pad Thai left in the plate but is it too much to expect him to check with her before tanking away the plate? We were in the middle of a conversation and it felt like servers are in a rush to clean out. It’s the little things that make a restaurant’s customer service good or bad.
Really good service and ambience. Food was fresh and good
Excellent food and service.
Great food good service. Just too bad they close so early.
We came late to our reservation but the hostess kindly seated us at the last available table.
There was a party of 50, but the staff was still able to take our orders quickly and get our food to us in a reasonable time. The food and drinks were very good. Portions were quite good, with another meal as takeout.
Overall very good experience.
Crazy delicious food! Very noisy inside though, made it a bit difficult to have much conversation. 10/10 would recommend! Try the samosas!
Delicious! My boyfriend thought his cocktail was a little on the weak side but aside from that everything else was perfect. Highly recommend the sesame beef + garlic pad thai. Will definitely be back.
Outstanding service, great food, cocktails were ok but not great.
The Tealeaf alad was excellent and my lamb kebat was nicely done (spicy too). Overall my wife and I really enjoyed it
I came here for my birthday on a weekday night, and the staff made my dining experience special! The food was delicious and the waiter brought out ice cream with a candle on it & sang happy birthday, which was really nice.
Love, love, love the Tea Leaf Salad! This is why I go to Burma Ruby and will keep coming back.
Nice cozy place for family dinner and beautiful ambiance.
The Manager and our server surprised us with a birthday ice cream with candle. It felt awesome. Awesome service and delicious food.
Great vegetarian options that came in wholesome portions. We stuck with a salad and a couple of appetizers. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and answered all our food questions without recourse to the kitchen. The only nit perhaps was that they were short staffed and it showed in the speed of service.
We love Burmese food, and they make it really well. Naturally we have no idea how authentic it is, but we love the taste. Tea leave salad is a must every visit.
We always love Burma Ruby. Tonight was no exception!
Made business lunch reservation for 12:15pm on a Monday. We were a party of 3 people. They were a little slow to welcome/greet us as we walked in. We literally stood at the booth for good minute or two before someone came to us. This would be my biggest complaint in an otherwise good first dining experience. We ordered Tea leaf salad, beef and basil and curry shrimp. Of the 3 dishes, we all agreed the best dish was the tea leaf salad. The curry shrimp was next favorite followed by the beef n basil. The beef was slightly tough. I'm used to very tender beef that I usually find at good Chinese restaurants. Also we only found maybe 2 basil leaves in our dish. All 3 dishes were tasty and we enjoyed them all. Once we were seated service was good. I would recommend and look forward to trying some of their other dushes.
Delicious food, interesting menu, but very slow service.
Fantastic customer service, really great menu - food tasted great. Highly recommend this restaurant. It was the first visit for my husband and I, and we will be back again!
Wonderful overall. Have been there a few times already.
Great food and great staff. If you’ve never had Burmese food, the staff is always helpful with recommendations. Had the green tea salad, the dinosaur soup, and chicken kabat. Would order it all again.
Located in the heart of University Ave in Palo Alto. Nice ambiance. Really tasty food. Great service. A really nice place to meet up with friends.
Came here for dinner with work colleagues from around the world because they offered reservations for a party our size and had a varied menu. What a delight it was! Everything was delicious, and believe me we ordered plenty of dishes to share, and the service was top notch. I can’t wait to return to Palo Alto to enjoy this place again!!
Good, not great. Yummy pad thai, pressed tofu with green beans, tea leaf salad. Dishes could have been a bite bigger. We ordered 12 entrees for 8 people, family style eating, and I was just barely full.
Great food, great customer service, great atmosphere. The perfect place to dine with someone special or the entire family. No matter what the occasion, Burma Ruby is the right fit for all😁
Awesome. Great food. Courteous servers. Had no problem with me waiting a little for a friend
We went for a Mother’s Day dinner with a prior reservation. We didn’t wait at all for our table. Service was courteous and prompt. We are vegetarian so enough choices for us but our all three dishes had the same base.
I usually really enjoy eating here. On this specific evening, I felt like all 3 dishes tasted the same and lacked the flavors I usually enjoy.
I ordered: samosas, mango tofu and pad Thai chicken.
All three were sweet. The pad Thai was saucy and the tofu was bland.
Burma ruby has good food and good service. Their wine list had changed since we were there the last time but it is still good.
Always excellent food and service. Highly recommend this place for special occasions and everyday eating.
