Nick is a great manager
This has been one of my favorite restaurants in the bay area for many years. The food is fabulous but what really makes this restaurant special is the family feeling you get immediately!!! Best tiramisu I’ve ever had!!!🥰🥂
Dear Vesna, This is such a warm review we really apprecaite your dedication throughout the years. We hope to see you very soon again. Caio Caffe Riace
Caffe Riace is an old favorite that we recently re-visited. It was great to see that it had not lost a step. Its outdoor seating is one of the most enjoyable in the valley and it menu is broad and well executed. Service is friendly, professional, and attentive. My only critique is that the corkage fee is out-of-line with what I'd expect at a neighborhood restaurant, so you may want to check beforehand in case you're thinking about bringing your own wine. I understand that running a restaurant is extremely challenging in the Bay Area, so can't fully fault them. All in all, it was a great experience.
Dear Tony, Thank you for being such an established guest here at Caffe Riace. We really appreciaate your review and look forward to hosting you soon. Caio Caffe Riace
Once again, another awesome meal. Everyone is so friendly and food fabulous. Staff is GREAT - ask for Natalie!
Cool spot, off of CA. Easy parking or Uber. Perfect for outdoor dining on a large patio with full sized Greek statues (hide the kids of you don’t want them seeing the human body). Overall, a good spot, hearty portions, solid menu.
Another fabulous meal!
Had dinner with a friend at the remodeled Cafe Riace. It is nicely done and it's a great venue for sitting outside to enjoy dinner. However, we found the food to be extremely salty. While the outdoor ambience to great unfortunately I can't recommend it because of the food.
Dear Mary, Thank you for your honest review. We ahve consulted with the chef and have adjusted due to your insight. We hope to see you back and let us know what you think. I am so glad our service was top notch for you. Caio, Caffe Riace
Presentation of food perfect
Great food. Heaters outside. Friendly host. Had the lasagna and it was excellent. Also had brushetta special of the day. Could have ordered two more orders. Amazingly not very busy.
Dear Keith, Thank you for the lovely compliment I hope we get to host you again very soon. Ciao ~Caffe Riace
Beautiful restaurant off of California Ave in Palo Alto. The restaurant is beautiful and the food was delicious Italian fare. The wine list was pricey. We dined on a Wednesday night and were surprised that the restaurant had only a few tables filled. Would definitely return.
We had a wonderful lunch dining by the fountain on a hot day - wonderful ambiance, delectable food, and considerate service.
WE have birthday lunch Saturday. It was just a few tables with customers. The place is beautiful. The food was good. Cannelloni with ricotta cheese and spinach is my favorite. My friend ordered pan fried halibut and like it too. For desert I ordered ricotta cheese cake and it was just OK. We try also olive oil cake with mascapone creme and it was good. I like this restaurant .
Excellent service. Food was well prepared and very tasty.
The staff was incredible and the food excellent! They had the right recommendations for everything, fresh-tasting wine and food, and created a wonderful relaxing and romantic evening for us. We can’t wait to go back.
Such a pleaure to host you on your romantic evening. Thank you for the glowing review and look forward to haveing you back soon. Grazie Caffe Riace
This is my go to place for Italian food. The outdoor seating is remarkable. The water fountain, the sculptures, and the landscaping make this such a special place. I haven’t ever had a dish I didn’t like there. The waitstaff is super attentive but without over doing it. Love this place!
Diana, What a pleasure to have you for lunch on the 19th. Please come back again soon. Grazie, Caffe Riace
My spouse and I haven't visited Riace in several years and are really, really glad we went back this July 4. We had a cavatelli dish that was (nicely al dente) and a veal chop (medium, also cooked just right). Both of these are not normally found on Italian restaurant menus in our area, so finding them both on the same menu was super. A decently-priced bottle of Grgich zinfandel (only 2x retail rather than the usual 3x). Olive oil cake for dessert was great to share (but it disappeared more than twice as fast). The only somewhat disappointment was the caesar salad; just not particularly distinguished. The host and server were very personable and glad to talk about wines, the history of the restaurant, etc. We ate outdoors, which is a calling card for this restaurant. And, unlike the rest of the California Avenue are right now, there is ample parking by 5pm in a small garage across the street.
It was an absolute pleasure to meet you and your spouse the other night. You both gave me some history as well, that I appreciate. We will see you sooner than later. -Nick
Caffe Riace has really raised its game! Food and service were excellent. We went there last weekend too. Plus you can hear people talk.
Thank you for the great review. I hope to have you back soon. -Nick
Gorgeous outdoor seating with attentive and gracious staff. The food is always amazing with the Ceppo Riace being a favorite! A great place to go with a group as well.
Ashley, A pleasure to host your dinner. We will see you soon. Nick
We had a lovely evening and thoroughly enjoyed our celebration at Caffe Riace!
Linda, Such a pleasure to host you. I am so glad you had a beautiful time, we look forward to hosting you soon.
Ambience was lovely

Steak was well when medium was requested.
Friend heading off to law school
Food was fabulous and interesting; not just your standard Italian fare. Maitre 'd was charming, friendly, helpful and made excellent suggestions for wine pairing. Our server was new and a bit inexperienced but did a great job. She knew the menu and could accurately describe the dishes and tell us why she liked them. Appetizer was a cold marinated eggplant dish. Eggplant was creamy and tasty. The aranchini ranked as some of the best I have ever had. Salmon stuffed w crab and artichoke hearts...amazing. love sitting outdoors in the courtyard and the heater that was turned on as it got later was perfect. All in all, a lovely dinner .
So glad you had a wonderful time. We look forward to hosting your evening again. Thank you for your feedback... Nick Salazar
