California Fresh Cooking Class was such a yummy and informative class. It's pretty easy to make meat tasty, but to get a fresh spin on vegetables is eye-opening. Not only did I learn about a lot of local vegetables that I didn't know what to do with before (rutabaga, anyone?), but I also learned good knife skills when prepping vegetables, as well as easy tips like how to easily clean leeks. I also learned how to use all different parts of vegetables. Who knew leek greens are just delicious? Even though I'm a diehard meat eater, it was great to learn so much about making healthy, great tasting vegetables, and I've incorporate what I learned into my every day life. The class also inspired me to try new vegetables, like kohlrabi. Julie made the class fun and gave me some lifelong skills.
