Oh of our long weekend and Carmel this was by far the worst experience. Starting with the host to stand that was rude and an organized. Even calling us 15 minutes after we sat down telling us we were going to lose our reservation if we did show. It was 45 minutes before we got our appetizer 30 minutes before we were serve drinks and an hour and 15 minutes before the entrées came.
I will say the Bolognese was excellent. That’s the only good thing I can say about the restaurant. The pizza was average overall staff we’re just not trained very well.
Clearly one of those restaurants that survives in a tourist area when there are no other options.
An amazing restaurant, great cocktails, amazing wines from Italy, best Italian pizza, and the Bisteca Florentine was smuggled out of Rome...
Not great. Very average food for the price. I think I would pay about $10 for the bolognese that goes for close to $40. Too salta and not a lot of flavor.

This is our special spot for dinner each year we visit Carmel. The food is all homemade and incredible and the service and ambiance follows suit. We look forward to coming back next year!
Enjoyed it a lot. Service classy;ie, the server did not try to be phony friend and all that. Instead was dignified and informative. Also did not start removing plates until everyone was done which is a positive.
Food was good but everything was salty. Be nice to have some items salty and some not for variety. Pasta noodles very thick and dense, not my preference. I wanted more options on the menu. Two were not available and the place had just opened. Daniel the bartender was informative and passionate about his cocktail concoctions.
Will go again eventually but will try other Carmel restaurants first.
Bottle of Pinot noir was great. Things downhill after that. Salad was drowning in dressing. We ordered our pizza well done and it was a soggy mess of chewy dough and uncooked mozzarella. We have been here many times and it was always good. This time was not worth it. Even though our server took the pizza off the bill ( he was excellent by the way) it will be a long time before we go back.
This restaurant was beautiful. The service was fantastic. And the food was excellent. 5 stars across the board!

The bistecca was perfect and huge. My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at Luca and were really pleased with the service and food.

This is a hidden gem with great pasta and a wonderful sausage polenta dish.

My wife compared the bolognese at your restaurant to her prior favorite bolognese, from Spago in Beverly Hills. She told me that your bolognese is hands down the best she has ever tasted.
They gave us table by the window that was private which was delightful.
Our server was very accommodating as well as the wait staff.

Started off with Drinks. This was an initial disappointment. I had a Manhattan. Ratio of Vermouth to Rye was high and they finished with a sweet maraschino cherry. In a place of this caliber, really expected the good luxardo cherry and a better mix ratio.
Then came the appetizer. A special of the day. Eggplant with Melted cheese and toasted baguette slices. This was excellent and perfectly seasoned.
For Dinner I had the Snake River Farms Pork Chop. Also excellent. Flavorful. Sweet and Savory.
My dining companion had Mezzi Rigatoni alla Vodka. The sauce was impeccable. Pasta cooked perfectly.
Wait staff was attentive and patient.
Other than the manhattan cocktail and the noise level (crowded night), it would have been a 5 star review.

Dining on effectively the (improvised/Covid era) side walk, is never that great frankly. This was ok. Food was outstanding. Recommend the oyster appetizers. Service was good, not great. Served our entree order to someone else, resulting in a 30 min wait. Unsolicited, comped our drinks as a result.

Food was acceptable, took a while before our main course was delivered to the table, the pasta portion was very small. Flavors were ok. Waitress did a great job

We have always loved the food. This visit was no exception.
The protocul seemed odd to us: wearing masks indoors, although no distancing in seating, crowded and quite noisy.
One bad item: a man arrived with. a little bulldog on a leash, (not supposed to happen), and every wait person petted it and made no effort to wash hands. Not right. People with dogs should only be seated out of doors.
Great dinner with friends. Food was awesome as was the service. Steaks a bit expensive but very good.

The food and waitstaff were absolutely incredible. On the specials menu, we had the Lobster Gnocchi, which, to be honest, needed the Italian word for “savory fireworks” added to its namesake. Each bite was unique; with the combination of the lobster, roasted corn, cherry tomatoes, and mushrooms, an amazing complex of flavors came forward that changed with each bite. I’d highly recommend pairing with a light white, say, Dry Riesling or Sauvignon Blanc.
Don’t let that chef go ever!

This was the 2nd time dining here and we were lucky enough to have Alex as our server again. Luca is by far hands down the best meal in Carmel. But it’s Alex that makes it worth the price. He is so attentive, prompt and personable. The Salumi plate and flatbread are my favorite things in the world! I love this place and will definitely be back and requesting a table in Alex’s section. Thank you for a wonderful dinner.

Although the service was good, the food was a real disappointment - especially given its connection to the truly excellent restaurant at L'Auberge Carmel.
As always, this is one of my “go to” restaurants and they did another outstanding job with food, wine, service!
Superb food, excellent service, lovely ambience. This is a well run restaurant. Every morsel was perfectly prepared. The salad was beautifully dressed, Pork chop with veggie risotto was succulent and delicious. At $62, it was pricy but we would order it again. The chicken under a brick was yummy. Moist, flavorful and worth every calorie. This is one of our favorite restaurants and it never disappoints…even in a pandemic.
