We love the food and service. The music is way too loud. Can’t hear my dinner companions.
The food was good but not beyond good as we expected. The portions were small for the price. Wine list was very expensive.
Great food, great service
CHE FICO consistently is one of the best dining experiences in the Bay Area: exceptional service (hospitable and extremely knowledgeable); inventive and delicious flavors with perfect execution; and a festive beautiful atmosphere. I LOVE it!
Nice ambiance and service. Food is beautiful and most of the dishes we had were delicious. A bit pricey for what it is but would return
The perfect SF place!!
Poor vegetarian options
Wow!!!! Service and food amazing
It is a very lovely place in the Divisadero very good food and the atmosphere is great. I only suggest that eat at this place like on a special occasion because it is kind of pricey but the food is great.
Great Friday night dinner spot ... we were seated at the bar ... tuna conserva was outstanding ... the tagliatelle al ragu might been been a little dry but was paired perfectly with a Cascina Fontana 2014 Barolo ... the whole rockfish was light yet satisfying ... nice conversations at the bar ... good service!
Everything was really lovely. The service, the energy, the decor the food was really really good.
A few minor comments for the restaurant, but Keep in mind I give this place a 9/10
1) The Tiramisu was dry for me, a bit over thought and didn’t deliver the same elegance as the rest of the meal. The cake layers could be more moist and the bland whipped cream seemed basic.
2) The sourdough croutons in the tomato salad were too big and impossible to cut—even with a knife. The house focaccia would have made a much better crouton. I also thought it was a bit over priced for the portion size.
The staff was lovely and knowledgeable. The food had passion in every bite. It’s loud but it makes you feel alive. Loved this meal!
Amazing food, wine, seating and waiter!! Everything was fantastic. I went home in the most delightful food coma. The chopped salad had many wonderful ingredients, summer squash, pasta and don't forget dessert YUM!! Everything we ordered tasted and looked great in presentation. Can't wait to go back!!
Che Fico has a great ambiance and food/drink, but getting a seat there can put a damper on things. Even if you make a reservation and show up on time, they take about 30 minutes to seat you after checking you in. Reservations are hard enough to get there and often you end up taking really late reservation slots, so the restaurant should do a better job actually seating customers when they arrive on time.
Will definitely be back. The food was outstanding and the ambiance was super cool. Loved the entire experience from start to finish. Perfect for a weekday night or romantic date night. Worth the wait for the reservation.
Omg...scrumptious! Make sure to leave room for dessert.
The food was good, but expensive for what it was. My wife’s dinner came 20 minutes before my daughter’s and 30 minutes before mine. An F in choreography. Acknowledging the delay, our server gave us 3 almond cookies; a nice gesture, but poor order management in the kitchen.
Phenomenal service and amazing food - such a wonderful evening!!
Lucked out with a last minute reservation for 6:15 on a Saturday night for counter seating. We were promptly seated with menus at a bar height counter facing the window/street which ended up being better than sitting at the actual counter because we had more elbow room and found it intimate for a busy/noisy restaurant. We were greeted by a server who provided menu explanations and suggestions. The pacing of the courses was relaxed. Some might consider it slow service but we didn’t ever feel ignored nor were we wondering where our food was. All servers were friendly but nonintrusive. The food was excellent. Very high quality seasonal ingredients prepared thoughtfully. Well seasoned but never masked. It’s loud but because we were seated next to each other we were able to chat comfortably. It was a nice table for a date night. We aren’t communal table people so we were glad to get the window counter table for two. We had the tomato salad that was AMAZINGLY delicious, agnolotti was yummy, lamb loin cooked perfectly and complemented with watercress and crispy potatoes. It was a lot of food but we are big eaters. Most people would probably prefer a half order of the pasta. We also had the crispy pasta as a little snack before our meal arrived and those were like crispy chicharrones. Tasty and addictive. They could package those. Desserts were equally delicious. We had the tiramisu and gelato. A snack, salad, pasta, entree, and desserts for two people was $130 before tip. We didn’t have any beverages. Would definitely return.
Overall great experience! Promptly seated when we checked in for reservation. Our table was in the middle of three other tables, not very private, but seats and table space were comfortable. Service from all team members was top notch. They were knowledgeable about the ingredients, portion sizes, and pairings. My favorite was the market salad with plums, avocado and basil! Pizza and pasta were great too, and what they’re known for. I’ll try more appetizers and the fish next time. Ambience had great tunes, a bit loud if you’re trying to have conversations but was fun and enjoyable for our date night. Cost we’re not out of the norm for a nice spot in the city, but with drinks you’re looking at $150-200 for two people. The service and food made it all worth it. We will definitely return!
A very good dining choice for sure. Limited menu with really no surprises. Although they claim the portions are good for sharing that’s open to debate. Appetizers could clearly be more generously sized so keep that in mind when ordering. Meal pace could use some work. Appetizers/first course delivered quickly but huge gap for other courses. Service good but not great. Lovely neighborhood atmosphere. Well priced for the overall quality- fresh, tasty and well prepared.
Quite good food and friendly service. Very expensive and small portions. Expect to spend a lot of you want to be full.
Amazing meal! You must get the fried risotto!
Found the food extreme salty and the waiter said he would take off an appetizer from the bill and he didn’t. Felt awkward asking. Overall nice environment but found every course except the pizza to be way too salty.
Cool interior, good service, delicious food and cocktails. Duck liver appetizer, tagliatelle (off menu, you can ask for it) and pizza were great. I am looking forward to a return trip. Menu is set up for sharing, you can ask for a half order of some pastas.
How can you not like Che Fico? Fun, great food, wonderful staff.
Maybe recommend because the food and service was great. The noise level was unpleasant with loud music and people talking loudly to overcome the music
Restaurants in SF frequently seem to be overpriced for the value delivered - but not this one. Thought the food, the experience, and the choices were amazing. We totally splurged and it was worth it!
I am singing your praises and have already recommended to a few friends!
Enjoyable with my son.
Looking forward to an anniversary dinner with friends on our vacation. Wanted to change time of our reservation, left two messages and no one called or answered the phone. Our concierge had the same issue. Hostess was lovely. Our server was disinterested and absent, never cleared our plates or asked if we wanted more drinks. Our food was lackluster. Salami was 4 slices of three different meats, no olives, bread or accoutrements. Bolognese sauce was extremely salty. The "special" veal chop was served rare, sent back to recook and it was returned correct temperature but it was tough. Not a prime cut of meat. Reviews here have been mixed and now I know why. Many other choices, such as Coquetta which was wonderful.
There is a reason this place is packed. It’s fabulous on every level.
The food was soooo good! Highly recommend the agnolotti. And the wine was amazing too!
After waiting for months to get a decent reservation, the atmosphere and clientele was not as expected. It was pretty loud and the whole experience seemed over hyped for what you get.
You will always get a good meal at Che Fico. Cocktail are excellent as well as all the homemade pastas and pizzas. You can go to Che Fico fairly reasonable or completely splurge. Chicken is amazing!
Food was great, we just had a waitress that was having an off night ... she didn’t have any patience to explain or provide the dinning experience we were looking for as first timers
I love the service atmosphere and the delicious food and beverage program!
Amazing food and service. The music was disliked however!
Good food, good service but I'll probably never go back. Why? Because the noise level is way way too loud, and we dined were there early. Even though we wanted to stay and have dessert, the noise was ear-splitting so we left. Tables too close to each other made things worse; we could hear the entire conversation of the tables on either side of us. And then on top of the general noise level from their open kitchen, concrete floor, etc., the restaurant plays extremely loud music. I even took out my hearing aide but it didn't help.
The pasta was great. We had 3 pizzas and one was great the other two were meh.
