Chevys Fresh Mex - Santa Rosa
I made my reservations on line, received a confirmation of reservation, HOWEVER, after traveling 1 hour, arrive at Chevy's and it is take out only !!! Apparently all of Sonoma County was take out only. This should have been indicated on the on line reservation.
Always a delight to go to Chevy's in Santa Rosa...especially during this Pandemic...We have been sitting out on their patio with a nice breeze blowing through. Other customers are spaced appropriately...The waitstaff is great and we always feel welcome.
Beautiful evening to eat outdoors, and the service was great!
I think of all the restaurants in Santa Rosa Chevy's does the best dealing with Covid-19 and the strict rules while still trying their best to make it an enjoyable experience. When it got cold out they even have heaters to take the chill off. We will continue dining with Chevys for their great service in such a trying time :)
This was the first time we went out to eat since sheltering in place and picked Chevy’s because that was always our go-to date night spot. We never had a bad experience but this time was different.
We were seated in an area where the sun was blazing directly in our eyes but were told it wasn’t possible to pull the shade down.
The food took forever to finally come out and when it did, it was about half the portion size it was before SIP. My salad was even missing ingredients that were supposed to come with it as listed on the menu.
My husband tried to order a beer and three of his choices were out so he settled for his fourth. When we finished our food, our waitress was nowhere to be found so we sat in the glaring sun and sweat until finally flagging her down.
Things have definitely changed. Such a bummer.
The music was too loud, our waiter did not understand english and my steak & shrimp came out as fajitas. Ate it and smiled.
The patio seating was clean and very comfortable. Service, food & mixed drinks were both consistently excellent.
Food was ok. Service was slow. Wait staff was really busting it so kitchen was slow.
I used to enjoy Chevy/s every once in a while. Our last visit was pretty disappointing. The cocktails were lousy and sent back. Replacement cocktails weren't much better. Food was not very warm and didn't taste fresh. The best part of the experience was our waitress. I don't think we will be going back to Chevy's again.
It must have been a short staffed evening. My party of two arrived at 6:30pm order margaritas and guacamole... My margarita comes in a Shaker with 1-2 additional pours. When it was poured it was a darker color and emptied the shaker. I suggested something wasn't right but not sure what the issue is and for $15.00 each this is not what I ordered... Agreeing something was off she left the concoction there to return with a new drink. Curious..i tried the concoction...what I ordered was the Black Diamond Margarita...tequila, cognac, citrus juices and black sea salt...what was brought was a tequila & cognac...no juices... They brought another 45 mins later...then the guacamole was finally made...at 8pm we were asked what we'd like to order...
It seemed to be an off night, our waitress was frazzled and we had another waitress checking on us and telling us that OUR waitress was working on the issues and the guac was coming...it was 2+hours to have two drinks, guacamole and chips and fajitas... The only saving grace was the hot tub that was waiting for us when we were done. Again..a one off bizarre night at Chevys
Staff was very helpful and friendly, I look forward to dining there again!
The food is just not of the quality it used to be at this location, bathrooms are run down. Whole place needs to be refurbished or closed.
The back of the house and food runners put our server Kimberly in a bad position. They were slow. Over 25 minutes for Nachos and a bowl of soup.
The food is too expensive for the quality. The taquerias around town are much better.
Everything there was fine but when I arrived they didn't have my reservation. It being a birthday celebration I was upset you screwed it up and had to wait the long line. A table for six is hard to accommodate is why I placed the reservation in the first place. Get it together! Don't use Open Table service
They didn’t have our reservation they had to go and find a iPad to get it
Our waitress was new. She was polite, but we waited over an hour to get our food. We stopped getting refills for drinks even though two other people came to our table. My order was incorrect and another person didn’t get the side he ordered. The bill was incorrect and took twenty five minutes to sort out. We were at the restaurant for a bit more than two hours which was far longer than we expected
Stopped for a quick early meal before the Blind Scream Horror Show. Food was great. Tammerin was fabulous! She attended to us like we were the only ones in the restaurant while being warm and funny.
Will definately be back because of her!

When we arrived our table was ready and located in a great area. Our server was outstanding. He was on top of all our requests and was knowledgeable on the menu and drink menu.
We were impressed with the presentation of the food and how delicious tasted. We will definitely be returning. Best time to go on a Sunday 430-5pm👍🏻

When we first got there we were told the reservation was not transmitted from open space thus meaning no reservation was ready for us so we waited for a table.
So much for that but we got through it just fine.
I was with a group , we had a reservation , we were in a class with a certain amt of timing -/we ended up getting our food 40 minutes into our order , even mentioning our timing ????
Upon arriving, we were told that Chevy's didn't accept reservations unless for 8 or more people. So using Open Table for a reservation of 5 was pointless. Fortunately, it was early so not very busy and we were seated fairly quickly. My daughter is vegan and asked for her veggie burrito to have no cheese. She even had a conversation with the waitress about which beans were best, so I'm sure the waitress told the kitchen. Her burrito came out with cheese in it. We sent it back and asked for a replacement burrito to go. Someone from the kitchen brought out the replacement burrito on a plate. It leaves me to believe the kitchen doesn't know what they're doing or listen to the waitstaff. If you have food allergies or other restrictions, you should be very cautious about eating here. The waitress was very polite and helpful. Since the quality of the food was marginal at best, we have no interest in going back.
Chevys always has great food!! I absolutely love going there!!! I went earlier in the day, so it was nice and quiet. 😊

Love chevys!! The food is great the service is always good when we go. It is a little loud so if you have a bigger group it’s kinda hard to hear. Made reservations online and when we got there they said they don’t receive the online reservations! But they were accommodating and got us in.
The fish tacos were over cooked and underdressed. Per the menu, pico was a flourish, but not on the plate. I had to ask for pico and lime after presentation, a staple of fish tacos. 51 minutes from entree order to table. The queso dip was absolutely basic.
Service was very slow - took 25 minutes for a kid's quesadilla! Food was simply not tasty & almost impossible to find a server. So disappointing.
Chevys is a great place to dine with friends & family.
It's a great place to eat. Valentines day was hectic though, even with a reservation we waited 40 minutes. Our waiter was awesome though.
My wife and I like Chevy's, happy hour is a good bargain, food is always good. This Sunday night service was slow. Both in the kitchen and with our server.
Chevys used to have great food, they keep changing things around and this causes anxiety for people that camenin for their usual go to for Chevys. I’m not saying you should never change but change for the better not the most cost effective for the restaurant. I know you’re concerned about the bottom line but the bottom line should be let’s give them good food so they’ll want to come back not just your profit line. I’ll just say if you ever change you chips and salsa NO ONE WILL EVER RETURN TO YOUR RESTAURANT AGAIN!!!
It was our anniversary dinner and our 6 year old wanted to come to dinner - he chose Chevys. In spite of the reservation, we were 10 min early and were seated 15 minutes after the reservation time. Terrible table in the walkway right next to the kitchen access. Server was not attentive. Very long wait for food then finally told that our order was put in after a large table of ~15-20. Had to ask for son's applesauce while we waited. If server had come by, would have ordered more drinks. Food was fine but cheese on guac was really weird - we couldn't eat it. Server didn't ask why. Overall very strange, def won't be back.
First time trying Chevys. It wasn’t packed for a Monday night which was okay since it kept the noise level down to a minimum. My girlfriend and I shared the fajita mix grill which was more than enough for both of us with leftovers to take home as well. Food came out quickly and fresh of the grill. Will definitely be coming back again!
