Chotto Matte Toronto
Infortunately everything was poor from the food to the service. Would not go back and do not recommend. Much better places in Toronto
Cocktails are great. Food is good albeit for $100 sharing menu you dont get much...when the dishes are bite-sized, at least have 1 piece per person! Having the break 1 little piece of fish apart for 2 people makes no sense...
Amazing ambience, but the counters were not that comfortable specially the position to talk to other people. Fantastic food but it took a while to get my sushi.
Was super pricey for the meals, service was good, but pushed high priced items and large amount of food.
Made an early reservation with my teenage children (as a courtesy to the restaurant). Tons of empty tables. They placed us directly in front of the kitchen and told us we had two hours to use the table. I have no further comment. Not even the good food saved the experience.
I still can’t get over the ambiance, it was amazing and the server was such a big help!
Our server was fantastic! Walked us through the menu, had great recommendations. Food was exceptional. Sound pressure was high - more like a club with pounding house music. That was the only downside to ask otherwise great dinner.
Awesome food and great service.
The dish "Ojo de Costilla"(hopefully that's how it's spelled" was one of the best steaks I had.
Awesome place for day and night hangouts! Amazing food. Highly recommended!
Drag brunch = best brunch I’ve ever had
Went for Jungle Brunch, it was ok. Beautiful interior, service was ok - a bit clunky, food was ok - some items were really delicious but overall it was so-so. If it were another restaurant that didn't come with such a reputation and "prestige" I would've been more impressed, it was expensive for what it was and the emphasis was on decor. $87 for brunch buffet and 1 9oz beer so I most likely won't go back.
Every bite of food we had at Jungle Queens brunch was spectacular. The menu is truly inspired! I was a little apprehensive about dining at a venue that has a DJ, but the music really added to the ambience and it wasn't at all intrusive on our ability to converse at the table. My husband and I had the best time and we can't wait to come back!
Was not expecting a drag queen brunch, was expecting the jungle brunch.
Not a bad surprise just unexpected.
Chotto Matte, my new favorite restaurant in Toronto!!! We showed up a day early for brunch (my bad) but an Angel named Daniel came to our rescue ; ) with a spectacular table. Tiara was our server and she was amazing. She gave us fantastic recommendation's, and we tried every delicious one. The team work of everyone from management, chefs, servers, runners, bussers worked together so seamlessly. The drag brunch was off the chain, we reserved for the next one on our way out. The most fun we have ever had at brunch : ) I laughed and smiled so much my face hurt lol
Overall Chotto Matte offered up a variety of great fusion dishes and interesting cocktails with service that could be considered amongst the best in Toronto. Unfortunately the experience is hampered by outlandishly loud music that suffocates conversations and a lack of creativity in the dishes that results in them never quite feeling like they warrant the price of the bill.
Incredible drink and food, highly enjoyable experience during Valentines
Fancy interior design, good ambiance, up scale food. Modern hip music and clean. But then you served with cheap wooden chopsticks, dollar store rings on drinks, scotch tape on a drooping dehyrdrated rose on a glass.... come on...
Amazing Valentine's pairing menu! Always a great experience but tonight's special menu was perfect.
The pisco sour was a bit watery, the ceviche was too sweet and the tar tar was insipid. But the gyoza and the duck were outstanding. Overall I felt it was a bit pricey for batting .500 on the food we ordered.
Outstanding food! Loved it.
The ceviche is a must.
The service was great. We sat at the counter and loved watching the chefs at work. The cod, and the duck were highlights. We also loved the dumplings.
The cocktails are outrageously delicious and fun!!
The food and service were incredible. It’s a bit in the pricy side, but well worth the experience. So delicious!
The quality of the food was and flavors were top notch. I will definitely go back. The service and ambience were great too.
Disappointing. I been excited all week to finally coming here and just disappointed, especially because as new parents we don’t get much nights out! This was our early valentines celebration.
Server was not very attentive, kept forgetting things, our order didn’t come out right, missing items ( he kept forgetting to bring things ( fork, more water , wine list etc )he took my husbands drink Order and left , didn’t ask me if I wanted one. the drinks took forever, my husbands second beer never showed up, the warm dishes did not taste as good as the sushi, when taking our order he looked away and was not even listening to us, he was looking at the table next to us to hear what the guests were talking about.
the rice was burned and too salty, sea bass was actually good!
I can go on but I think you get the point! Not worth 250$ at all!
At the end, I didn’t even want to order dessert because I was just so disappointed with the whole dinning experience. I asked him for the bill and pointed out we were still missing a dinner dish. At this point I just wanted to leave.
Food was really good. The meat dishes including the lamb and steak were amazing. The sushi roll we had was good too but I expected a little better. Drinks were really good and unique and service excellent. Only issue was that it was a bit expensive for our taste. I expected to be blown away for that price point. Definitely worth trying once and make your own decision about returning.
Awesome. Exceptional and innovative food and affordable considering the quality of the food. Hip but inviting ambiance
It’s a very hip place. Food and service excellent.
Absolutely brilliant. Wonderful service and my goodness the food. Best part was they had halal chicken and lamb chops. Highly recommend you give this place a try.
I really like the food, drinks and service. I have been there twice and ordered duck, soft shell crab, yuca frites and peppers. However, I was put off the second time when handed the machine to pay (for a party of 2) and the tip function was automatically set to 20% when I clicked thorough the options. There should be an array of choices from 15% to 20%. The standard I've seen is 15%, 18% and 20%.
Octopus and crispy duck dishes were excellent. However, all the other dishes we had fell short (shrimp spring roll, spicy tuna roll, and miso eggplant). Pricing is a little steep, but understandable given the location. Service was fantastic - very attentive staff!
One of our suishi dishes didn’t come out
Delicious food, great and classy ambience and very pleasing staff. I had requested for some changes in the food preparation which was done quickly. Overall an excellent experience - will visit again for sure.
Restaurant is beautiful!! The decor and service was amazing! I found the food underwhelming and over priced.... we had sushi, an octopus dish, and the black cod. The black cod was definitely a highlight but super expensive. Overall would definitely go back for drinks, but probably not for dinner
