THEY WERE CLOSED
Closed for good... Open table needs to remove from site
We arrived at 7pm for our reservations d the restaurant was locked up. When I called I got a voice mail saying the mailbox is full! I even reconfirmed through open table! We were outraged !!
We arrived and the restaurant was closed!!!
You should not allow to book a table if it’s closed!
Very stylish and excellent meals and wine.
Live Music Gypsy Kings.
Enjoyed a delicious meal with attentive staff! It’s got a cool vibe with beautiful decor and great music. Super fun. Highly recommended.
Beautiful venue and we wanted to enjoy it but Food was okay and the Drinks were rubbish
The restaurant is beautiful and well decorated but unfortunately that is about all the positive I can say. The restaurant was mostly empty for dinner and strangely very brightly lit. There was cold air that was blowing directly on our table while it was absolutely freezing outside. We let the wait staff know and although they fixed it, it would continue again every 15 minutes. All three of us ordered the same thing — the steak frites with peppercorn. But they brought out steak frites with au jus (another option on the menu). Even after asking, they denied bringing out the wrong thing. I was flabbergasted. It was a very expensive meal for a less than great experience. I don’t think I’ll be back.
This is my second time at Coco. It is a beautiful restaurant, the decor is fantastic , food is great. However both times the service has been appalling, and what’s worse is that there were only two other tables.
The first time I put it down to being a new spot and there are always things to work through. However returning I thought those issues would have been worked out. Coco has potential to be a fun energetic spot that lasts but with service the way it is this can never happen.
I say this before I love the space and the food is good. I hope you improve so that I can come back ...
Beautifully decorated and super friendly staff. The food was not good so basically you go for ambience and location.
We will not go back to this restaurant anymore. it's overpriced. it's loud ( if you like the party )
The food is bad. We ordered Gnocchi- braised rabbit ragout dish, The dish came up with no rabbit instead with bacon and there is no one explaining to us why!!!! Also L’osamoelle, Bone marrow dish- even no bone marrow included.....don't go there!
Foods ok, service leaves a lot of room for improvement.
we are SO incredibly disappointed with Coco, and recommend Open Table take them off their roster. We waited 20 minutes for water, another 20 before we could put our order in. The waiter was apologetic, with no sincerity. Food came and was cold, and bland. We were SO upset to spend ~$100/each... such a waste of money and time. These guys should not be permitted to run a business, let alone a food business.
Food not extraordinary & the Chanel theme was minimal
Great food, great for photos and delicious cocktails. While our server was very sweet, it was not seamless. Simple touches were missed such as not noticing empty cocktail glasses, forgetting to remove empty plates after checking in, not dropping a dessert menu. This by no means ruined our evening. I would absolutely go again! Service simply needs more attention from team.
It was my wife’s birthday, it was Tuesday, so not busy at all. I received my meal and wanted to have a candle in desert. The waiter never came back to the table for 20 mins, I got fed up and walked over to him and I asked what were the deserts, he gave me the list. I walked to the bathroom and came back to the table as and he never came over. I got up again and walked to him again and as he saw me he asked if wanted desert, I said no just give me the check. We were sitting in the both just past the stairs. This guy shouldn’t be a waiter.
Not the greatest experience. Went on a Saturday night at 8:45pm. Restaurant staff was scattered, and management seemed very stressed. Perhaps something was wrong that day?
First, there were not enough drink menus available. Kept rotating a few menus between all the tables. Took us 15 minutes to get one, then got taken away a minute later to give to someone else. We hadn’t even chosen the drinks yet haha...
Appetizers and drinks were pretty good. Octopus and bone marrow to start. Bone marrow was delicious!
The entrees were disappointing... The Niçoise salad had half of a dry, canned tuna plopped on top of it, still packed in the shape of a cylinder. The gnocchi was bland and small (entire portion was the size of one large fist). The side of fries were okay, thin and crispy!
The redeeming quality was that the waitress (Allison) was absolutely lovely. The manager was also on the floor, and came to tables to help man the guests. He was nice and apologetic for the wait. The night seemed to be a bit chaotic, which is why we gave benefit of the doubt.
Overall, quite disappointing, but we appreciated the hospitality when available.
Great atmosphere great crowd and great food. We read prior reviews and ordered the Bronzino and Burrata. Both were excellent. Our waiter was charming and provided the perfect amount of service. Music and decor and were vibrant and interesting. We had a table near the open doors which provided a lovely view of the interior space but also the cool night air. Unfortunately we had to miss the drag show because we had somewhere else we had to get to. Can’t wait to come back
amazing food and drinks!!! loved the decor. Gabe made the best cocktails!!! My new favorite spot in the meatpacking district.
It was very clear that you have just started, there was confusion serving the food and we were waiting long time. We entered the restaurant at 7:45PM and we got the main dished an hour later.
However, we ordered escargot, and you did have the right silverware, so you did not charge us for it, much appreciated.
Overall the food was very taste :-)
I came here with my son for his birthday and we were not disappointed..wonderful food, ambiance, service...I would highly recommend
Place was closed with no one inside. Please update your database. What a waste of my evening getting to a place that was closed. Very frustrating
Excelente service and food
Gorgeous restaurant in a great location. We enjoyed the mussels and the wine by the glass options. Service was great including fun banter with our Server.
Stunning new hotspot that has been styled head to toe with character and fashionable taste. Attendees and servers were all very kind and welcoming. The color palette, tufted sofas, and chic music all made the experience truly memorable. Coco is my new favorite spot. I will definitely be a regular here. Chic to the nth degree. Octopus is fire. Cocktails are divine.
We need more spots like Coco in New York.
Very pretty place. Great for your brunch photos.
Croque madame wasn’t great (I didn’t care for the bread) but the chicken sandwich and French toast looked good. The mimosas were good and we got them last 1.5 hours, but perhaps that was due to lack of timing and structure on that day. We were told there wasn’t a manager on duty and you could definitely tell as a few different waiters would come back and ask us the same thing. The very tall slim man with glasses did a great job, and was very kind, but it would’ve been better if we didn’t wait so long for drink refills and putting in our order (once again I think they were understaffed and stressed as we went 1-3pm). I think the $35 deal was good, it’s always nice to find an affordable bottomless mimosas brunch so that was appreciated.
Super accommodating. We had to change reservation several time. Food was great
My boyfriend and I really enjoyed the food, ambiance, service, and decor. We would definitely recommend this place.
Beautiful space, great ambiance, super chic. We had a great time and a delicious dinner and the service was amazing!
I highly recommend Coco for groups, celebrations or just to have fun and drinks at the bar.
We went to celebrate a birthday. It was a mixed experience. We loved our table, the staff couldn’t have been nicer, but there were just too many things that gave our experience a so-so rating. To start, we ordered champagne and the waitress brought chardonnay. Bread, which was delicious, arrived about a minute prior to our first courses. At this point I am feeling a little rushed after having waited a bit too long to get a drink. Two of our three firsts were excellent... the burrata (although I questioned it being offered at a french restaurant) ...the sauce was amazing (thats the french!) and the hummus! While still eating they removed two of our three dishes taking the amazing sauce that should have been lapped up with the bread... now I am really feeling rushed. Whose does that!? When our mains came the winner was the branzino...! The steak frites was just so so... a french basic, and the wrong choice of a salad nicoise...the tuna tasted like it came from a can. The truffle fries were completely over cooked... which was a shame as one order came with the steak and the other for the table...never saw unfinished fries before! When one of us asked for another glass of champagne they didn’t have any left of the same bottle. They offered a substitute, on the house, but it was sweet... nothing like the dry we first ordered. In between all this were thing that fine dining should have figured out. Coco can work on all this and become a great restaurant...and we may be back for burrata and branzino but not anytime too soon!
Coco is one of the most beautiful restaurants that I have ever stepped foot in, from the decor to the ambiance and chic paintings. The service was top notch as well and you can really see and feel the authenticity of the cuisine. I will definitely be back!
Our experience for a birthday dinner fully surpassed our expectations as the maitre d, Louis, was very passionate about his dining guests and accommodations. Louis is an invaluable asset to Coco J’adore; he’s very knowledgeable and kind. The courses were presented in beautiful style and the restaurant is delightfully decorated in a trendy ‘south of France’ vibe. This is a great addition to the meatpacking restaurant circuit ! Cannot wait until they start their party brunch with euro style dj’s quite soon :)
The worst dining experience I’ve ever had in Manhattan.
A beautifully stunning restaurant sabotaged by awful service and bad (tasteless, cold and expensive) food.
The restaurant was less than half full at 9pm on a Saturday night (not a great sign)
Our server had 4 tables to wait on, and we must have seen him max 3 times throughout the night.
They didn’t have our first choice of wine, they recommended another similar one but then when we wanted more of that they didn’t have it.
Appetizer took an hour to arrive, entrees arriving 2 hours later, cold!
I’ve never written a review in my life, but our experience was so astonishing awful I cant quite get my head around.
I give it 6 months max
Lovely restaurant and very nice staff. Food was excellent.
It is a modern chic place, with excellent wait staff and excellent service. I had the brick chicken and a steak tartare. It was moderately portioned, it’ll satisfy an average human appetite. For dessert, I had the creme brûlée which was sweet and topped with fresh fruit and worth every cent. I had a cocktail (Godiva) with my meal and it had an excellent kick with every sip. I hope my comments help. I’d recommend this to anyone who loves ambiance with their food experience.
CoCo is fairly new and has a LOT to improve.
Our bread only arrived after two times asking.
Wine ordered showed up twice/double
The waiting time before the first course and between courses was over 30 minutes. After asking about the arrival of our main course it still took about 15 minutes to get it. We had a bottle of sparkling water on table but our glasses (with sparkling) got topped up unasked with tap water. The bills of 3 tables around us were not correct (ours was).
The waiter told us the main courses were ‘decent portions’ so we did not order sides. The gnocchi we ordered were definitely not a full main course portion. The wine by the glass we had was good, but the wine list is severely overpriced. The ambiance is very nice, but around 10pm the dj started playing tunes overly loud. It is a restaurant, not a club, right?
Waiters got more nervous over the course of the evening, as the mistakes and failures kept piling up. We got ‘sorry about that’ ‘s but no compensation. Therefore, we did not tip. They still have so much to improve in order to run it like a proper restaurant that lives up to its décor and menu prices.
The service was absolutely terrible! The wrong drink was given to me followed by lengthy waits for all the courses and it wasn’t even busy. The staff was nice and friendly but the execution was not. Not again.
We went here for French restaurant week and it was good. The drinks and food were a little overpriced but Luis made us feel so welcomed. I would recommend.
