Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant - Rockville
Food was good service was wonderful. Noise level was too high.
Our food was delayed because of an issue in the kitchen. The manager came out to tell about it and apologize, and they took the wine and two dishes off out bill. They were very nice and when the food came, it was delicious! We appreciated they care about the quality of their dishes and were very pleased with the experience. We had the barrel reserve wine, and it was excellent!
We’ve been here twice and had a great experience both times! Great variety of food and it’s all been very tasty. We’ve ordered the tuna sashimi appetizer multiple times because we like it so much!
Fun wine flights and reserve tastings are an added perk that make the meal even better!
It’s a big restaurant and a little loud (because it’s always packed—even on a Tuesday night all of the tables were full), so make sure to make reservations!
Was seated at a table near the path to the kitchen, and was bumped multiple times by waiters and servers going to other tables.
Food was bland. I ordered fish with Thai sauce and the sauce was blander than mayo.
Amazing experience!!!! Our waiter was so great and he made our night.
The servers kept switching for our table and then we were ignored. Our food didn’t come out in a timely manner because it was given to other tables. We were told that management would come out and apologize but No one from management ever came to apologize. It was supposed to be a birthday brunch but they didn’t even offer desserts...
Had heard good things about this restaurant so took the family. The restaurant decor is nice but lends to a rather loud dining experience. The food was average at best. Everyone felt it was under seasoned. My NY Strip was average at best although the roasted vegetables were good. My son didn’t eat but two bites of his and I tried it and it wasn’t that great (gnocchi bolognaise). My other son enjoyed his burger although it was a little undercooked. My daughter’s risotto she said needed seasoning. The calamari was heavily breaded which is not how I like it. The pork belly tostados were good but can’t say I could really taste the pork belly. The cheese tray appetizer was good. Overall I was disappointed as I had heard such good things. Maybe if you are going more for the wines you will enjoy it more. I’m not much of a wine drinker so can’t comment on the wines although I did have a glass of Moscato and it wasn’t my favorite. I thought it was pricey for the quality of the food. Wouldn’t go back or recommend after trying it.
Food was delicious and so was the wine! Went with a friend and we loved it.
Cooper’s Hawk is a great new place- especially for the wine lover.
Amazing place. I took some good friends for their anniversary and they said it was the best experience ever !! The ambiance and our server were great. We really enjoyed every part of the evening.
The experience was fun. Wine was mediocre as was the food. I didn’t mind the hard sell on memberships or the decanter apparatus during dinner.
Everything was great our server Bruce was super. We will be back soon. Wines were very good.
We had a wonderful waiter, whose name is Bruce. He was so energetic, friendly, knowledgeable and just an all around nice guy, who made our dining experience so much fun and very enjoyable.
We love Coopers Hawk. Very good food and lovely atmosphere. The wine can’t be beat. Wish the had more local ingredients on the menu.
I never want to go there again! We went for Thanksgiving. We arrived at 7:15, and the restaurant had many empty tables, so no one should have been too busy to serve us. The service was appalling. We waited forever at every step from water to dessert, to getting the bill. Dinner, without drinks or dallying over appetizers took over two hours. At no point along the way did anyone ask if the food was okay, or if we needed our water refilled. We had been told in advance that we could sub anything we wanted from regular menu for things in the Turkey dinner we didn’t like. On site, we were told, we could sub a house salad for the soup, or sub the dessert, but could not sub the veggies, or another soup for butternut squash soup. The dishes ordered from the regular menu were fine, though only luke warm. One of the dishes arrived bed 5 minutes after the other three. The soup was room temperature. The turkey dinners were cold. In fact the stuffing and mashed potatoes were congealed into solid blobs. The “roasted” carrots and green beans on the turkey dinners were definitely not roasted. Instead they were overcooked, soggy, and tasteless, as if they were frozen veggies boiled in water, then allowed to get cold. We didn’t dare send anything back, because it took so long to come to begin with , we would never have gotten it. We got two desserts. The key lime tart was okay. The banana butterscotch tart tasted like store bought butterscotch pudding with three slices of banana and “rum caramel” sauce that actually tasted like something brown( not caramel) with an excess amount of almond extract. ICK! When it was time to leave, we had to get up and search for the waiter in order to get the bill. We almost walked out without paying. It was a total failure. A wast of our time and money. I’m astounded that any meal could
Be so bad in so many levels.
The Thanksgiving dinner did not meet my expectations. Although, the regular menu items have been tasty & flavorful.
Staff is courteous and accommodating. Excellent food.
Food was incredible and the Winter Red wine was excellent. We will definitely be back.
Food was very salty and cold. We waited a long time for everything. For example, We waited 20 minutes for a juice refill for the children. Our waitress seemed very stressed. It was not a good dining experience and we won’t be coming back to this location.
Food was great and the fact we could try wines before we even sat down to eat was awesome. Service was slow and they would even forget items we ordered, but it was thanksgiving evening and they were pretty full.
Thank you for the Outstanding service I received from my server Patty. She was very friendly, kind and had a great sense of humor.
I would only recommend ONLY if it was someones' first time. The noise level was much to high and they sat us next to a party of about 20 young ladies who were much too loud! They should be conscious of sitting older guests and families next to larger parties. Two of our dishes were NOT hot (they were the special of the day) The server never came to ask how our food was or we couldn't even find our waitress to let her know this until the end of our meal. She did provide us with complimentary deserts but food should be HOT! This is not the first time this has happened to me at this restaurant. The staff were constantly running around but our server never came to ask how our food was, which they should soon after we receive it! I don't think they have enough staff per table(s) and therefore you don't get the excellent or attentiveness of a good wait-staff. They need to improve this aspect of their service. Food was good, but temperature needs to be improved for ALL meals !
It was my wife’s birthday and Cooper’s hawk made it a awesome memorable night!!!
Birthday lunch. Very nice
One of our favorite places! Good food and love the wines!
I have been there twice and the food is piping hot which is so awesome. Our server was Katlyn (I think) she was pleasant, professional and knowledgeable!
The food and wine are fantastic! Arrive early for the wine tasting experience.
I want so badly to love this restaurant! The flat bread was great! But my salad was too wet not from dressing but from lettuce not being dried after washing. My dates salmon was okay and the drinks were fab but bar service was slow
The wine tasting was excellent but unfortunately all downhill from there. I asked the waiter about 4 different menu options and each one he told me was not good. So I had no idea what to order and ended up with cold soup and a soggy salad. One of our entrees was completely forgotten and then incorrect when finally brought. No one seemed to care, it took us 10 mins to even get someone’s attention to help. We were not in a hurry and enjoyed conversation but it took 2+ hours for appetizers and dinner - completely unacceptable.
We had an awesome dinner! Everything was great.
Great food! You can taste 3 wines before making your decision.
Excellent service from all the staff at the Rockville location of Coopers Hawk. Our server, Jarrod, excels at service and is clearly passionate about taking care of his customers.
Food was good on the wide ranging menu and it’s easy for everyone to find something they will really like.
This was our 1st time at this location. We will definitely be back.
This is my second visit in a row where my meal was comped due to poor service. Long wait snd cold food.
My second visit. All good. Great waitress. Great food and wine.
The food is consistently great. I love trying new wines. I wish it were quieter so easy conversation might take place!
I brought my friend there to celebrate her birthday. I'm planning on bringing other friends for happy hr.
The hostess got a “quiet” table even though the restaurant was very busy.
Our server was very attentive although busy.
We were very happy with our evening.
They made my husband’s birthday celebration. They knew me. It was done nicely. The only thing that wasn’t the best was the food service as we waited a while for our food. Otherwise, nothing else to complain
