There was a variety of food. Therewas something for everybody and concessions were graciously made for dietary needs. It was sooo pleasant that the room was quiet even when full of people. That is not easily found in so many restaurants.
Great experience. Terrific food and service!
I am from out of town, but was looking for someplace "special" to take my youngest son turning 30. Special it was!! The SERVICE was exceptional. She was personable, friendly, helpful and efficient. very food item was hot and delicious; flavors and textures married to create sumptuous dishes. The place had an old fashioned elegance. On a cold rainy evening, it warm and inviting and conversation was delightfully possible due to lower ceilings and smaller sections. I didn't see one dish come from the kitchen that looked anything less than spectacular. Cannot wait to return!
Kaiden is a delightful server. She’s served us before.
Generally, we’re wowed by the food at Cornell’s, but I confess I was little underwhelmed by the bolognese. Very light on the meat. My wife’s Marsala was amazing. Regardless, we still think it the best Italian choice in Schenectady and will be back!
Absolutely delicious food, efficient and friendly service, crowded because it was New Year's Eve, but a very positive experience!
Great food and exemplary service. Expectations are always exceeded at Cornell's. Lucky to have it.
Cornells is amazing! Love the front room. Food & waiter were excellent!
Anniversary- Great location
Great dinner with friends! Great ambiance, excellent wine and food!
Overall food good. Service very slow. We had reservations at 7 and they were out of several things.
Food and service show that owner and staff want customers to be more than just satisfied.
Always amazing food!!
food was fantastic, atmosphere was very cozy.
a great night out.
Met with very dear friends !
Had a perfect night ...
Special Kudos to Jamie at the front door... she welcomed us just like we were coming home! She is fabulous ...
We are off to Florida for the winter... will be back to see you in May!
Our party of four arrived at Cornell's for an early (5:15 pm) dinner before catching the "Melodies of Christmas" show at Proctor's . We've done this for six years now, and it's become a delightful holiday tradition. The food is hot when it should be hot, cold when it should be cold, nicely seasoned and very tasty. And VERY plentiful!
None of us are more than occasional alcohol drinkers, but we did order a bottle of wine - a delicious Dr. Loosen Reisling. The wine list is fairly small but well chosen.
The waitstaff is attentive without fawning, and unfailingly polite and cheerful. The bathrooms are spotless and the holiday decorations are lovely.
We had a wonderful dinner! Kelly our server was very attentive and gracious. The three course dinner is an amazing value.
Great food! All 6 of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals!
We went to Cornell's prior to a show at the Schenectady, NY, GE Theater at Proctors Theater with a reservation starting at 5:30. The show was at 7:30. The restauraunt would have been a noce 10 minute stroll to the theater if the rain hadn't been falling tht night, so we drove.. We had a two person table in the seating area opposite the bar starting at 5:30pm. The seating area is separated from the bar with a low partition wall so you could see the whole room and the there wee large windows to look out onto the street. the whole place is carpeted, so that it would cut down on the sound of any crowds that started to gather in the restaurant. We wanted to hear each other talking during dinner and we did get that through out. I had the Braciole platter with Utica Greens and they were delicious. My date had Cornell's House-Made Cavatelli and we both very much enjoyed our choices. The service was excellent and the atmosphere became...quietly lively(?) as more people joined the restaurant section. The wine list had a wonderful large selection of what looked like excellent wines. For once, we did not have any wine or alcohol, since we wanted to make sure to be very alert for our show, but we will definitely be back to have a good bottle of wine with our next dinner!
All around perfection. Food and service were top notch. Will recommend Cornell’s to anyone.
Food was ok...some people in our party really liked their entrees. My food was luke warm which means it was sitting for a while before being served. There were a few fruit flies flying around the dinner table and the very friendly wait staff said they have had this problem for over a month and not sure what to do about it. Sorry, but bugs and restaurants don't go together in my book. If they are present at the table, I can only imagine what is happening in the kitchen. Probably wouldn't go back.
Second time here...just OK... veal Marsala seemed suspiciously too much like chicken.
Delicious! One of my favorite Italian restaurants, a must visit!
Food was excellent. Service was incredibly slow. It was a busy night, but it took almost 45 minutes for our meals to arrive to the table. And we had told them we were on a schedule because we had theater tickets. Disappointing.
Cornells is consistently excellent in all ways. Nice ambiance.
Their seafood pasta dishes are the best and their steaks are awesome.
When we got there at 5:10 for our 5:15 reservation, I wondered why I made a reservation, as the restaurant was empty - but that quickly changed. I was very glad that we got there a little early and had a reservation so that we could make it to Proctors for the 7:30 curtain for Frozen.
To start, the beer list is excellent. From the small local breweries to the larger nationals, there is a decent choice for every taste.
We didn't have appetizers, though my wife and brother each had a cup of soup - one pasta fagioli and the other chicken pastene. Both were very good.
For dinner, ny brother went traditional (for us, anyway) with Chicken Parm - which he really liked. The large portion ensured that he would have leftovers for lunch the next day.
My wife also went traditional - even more so - with spaghetti and meatballs. She says that it was excellent, but that my meatballs are still better... (right answer).
I had the brasciole and it was fantastic. A thin cutlet of beef, stuffed with sausage and provolone cheese with a side of pasta. The meat was very tender and tasted great. One thing we all agreed for certain was that the red sauce at Cornells was incredible. It really made the meal for all of us and will definitely get us back through their doors.
We were too full for dessert, so we can't speak to that.
When I said I was glad that we had reservations, I mean it. By the time we ordered, a comfortable 15 minutes after being seated and served our drinks, the place filled up. There were several Annas and Elsas in the room, but I am sure that it would fill up pretty much any night.
Lastly - I will say that the restaurant is very tastefully designed, well-lit, and there is plenty of parking on the street and in the parking lot in the back.
I highly recommend Cornell's.
Our party of four thoroughly enjoyed the food and good service, which was attentive and professional. Calamari appetizer shared by the table was great. Entree portions were generous, well prepared, and served. I'd go back to see if we can move the needle to a five star review.
Excellent friendly service and fantastic food as always. Good choice for our business dinner. Plenty of time for conversation with no rushing from the staff.
Food was okay but not anything you would rush out to order again. Very loud. Overbooked so service was slow. Drinks never refilled although requested. Took 25 minutes for dessert to
Tuesday/Wednesday specials are well priced but weren’t really worth the trip this time
Party of 8
Food... service....BEN ...
I made a special request for Ben as server
Called and confirmed the request 4 times
Was assured that would happen... 4 times
Arrived at restaurant
Table location moved
Ben not server!
Even though request was clearly in the notes
The hostess made the necessary change ... thank you
We had a bit of a wait due to the error
That should not have happened ... if request was properly handled
Food is always good. Service is great. Highly recommend it.
Excellent food and warm atmosphere
The restaurant is very nice and we had a good table for 7. Food was ok, nothing spectacular. But service was awful. Our reservation was at 7:30pm. Our order was taken at 8:30pm and food was served at 9:30pm. We were starving. The waitress just said she had tables in two dining rooms. Oh well.
Everything was Wonderful!!! The food was the Best!!!
Wow! We were totally blown away with everything we ordered! The hot antipasto was AMAZING. Homemade cavatell was delicious. AND THE SCALLOPS, wow!
Requested an appetizer that is no longer on their menu, which they happily made for us. Waitress, although fairly new, was great! Veal franchise was outstanding!
both veal dishes excellent taste, just slightly overcooked, but overall very good.
If it is not stated why you gave us a one star rating, we have no idea how to improve on your unhappy experience, please advise, thank you
Superior service, excellent food, wonderful ambiance
Little Italy section of Schenectady. Old world flavor and decorating. Felt Like Italy.
Very long wait for food that wasn't very warm & considering price point should have been better.
Always a great dining experience! Wait staff is attentive, food is excellent and always at a good price!
