Crab House Monterey

I gave this rating because after reservations and confirming, this place was closed when we got there. They need to update there online reservation system to reflect real time during this Pandemic.

They took our reservation and were closed. Walked in the rain to get there and they weren’t open. Wont ever be going back here.

Caesar salad. Lettuce not cold.
Sandalbs tasted like they were not fresh. Deep fried appearance on some.
Cheese cake dry.
Waiter friendly.
Would not return.

Awesome clam chowder food was well prepared and servers were great!

We had excellent service and a great table over looking the harbor.
I will definitely recommend this restaurant to our friends.

Very nice out on the deck, the view is beautiful. Our waiter and the rest of the staff were on top of their game and very nice. The king crap was amazing along with the pomegranate daiquiri! Will be back

Crab House was okay, but not great. The food was decent but very overpriced for the quality, even for being a restaurant on the wharf. Service was slow. The restaurant decor and overall ambiance could be improved a lot - it felt a little outdated and casual for the prices on the menu. I would probably choose other options on the wharf in the future.

This app took our reservation and the restaurant was closed. Hilarious. Id give no-stars but that was not an option.

The service was poor, the staff were rude, I asked for a wine cooler and never got it. They got my wife’s order wrong and their attitude was terrible, it was like it was her fault. Whilst my crab was fresh, which is what you would expect from a crab house, it was not served nicely, every dish seem to just be served with rice and green beans .. not a great accompaniment for crab.

For the price and experience of the Monterrey Bay Wharf. Chose another restaurant.

Excellent food, the Cioppino was excellent, clam chowder and fish and chips. Right next to whale watching cruise and great outdoor seating. We'd definately go back and they let us get seated a little early so we could make our cruise on time. Great and friendly service.

Very enjoyable experience. The service was attentive but not overbearing. The food was very good. We watched an otter and a couple of sea lions playing or hunting just off the dock. So, our view was great.

Service was a little slow. The restaurant was almost empty and we kept having to look for the server to bring us water or silverware....

My sister had a whole crab, she enjoyed her meal. I had the fish and chips. The worst meal I have ever attempted to eat. It looked and tasted like frozen food. The staff saw that I rejected 80% of my plate. I could no longer try the eat because of the disgusting taste. All the staff saw my discarded plate of food but not one person asked I was not eating the garbage. It’s as if they knew my food was crap and didn’t want to hear another complaining customer. I said nothing to the staff, I assume they knew and I didn’t feel it would make a difference. I came here to sale a car at the Bonhams auction, I’m leaving these negative thoughts behind an am going to enjoy the auction.

Tired old boring place in the super touristy location. Noting good about it - uninteresting food, beat down waiters, shabby interior.

Having spent two weeks driving the west coast I was really looking forward to decent sea food - it was not bad but I was expecting much more given the prices. Hate to leave disappointing reviews but this place could be so much more. Unfortunately they clearly rely on the tourist trade and ability to charge a whole lot more. View was nice but that was really the only thing going for this place. Plenty of choice around the area so spend some time looking at the reviews.

Went for my 20th anniversary and was seated but wasn't greeted by anyone for awhile so my husband and I decided to walk out. My view of the ocean was blocked by dirty stacked chairs on the balcony. The room temperature was warm, no air conditioning. Not a great experience at all. Will not recommend this place to anyone.

The Crab House is a very cute place located at the end of the Wharf. The food was absolutely delicious; however, the service could have been more attentive as it took a while for someone to come over to take our order. With that said, I would still come eat at the Crab House again! Thanks for a fantastic vacation dinner.

I have 4 stars for Service, because we had a service dog and the guy didnt want to let us in. The employees should be better educated. Otherwise, the service was great. The food was less than mediocre. Inhave it 3 stars, because one of the dishes, oysters, were incredible, and the Crab Ravioli were very good. Everything else was not ok. My seafood pasta lacked any flavor. The sandubs were very sour from lemon. The fish from the Fish and Chips was horrible.

Like the food and the price. One of the best clam chowder I've eaten. I requested for a window seat and we got it. Thank you. :)

waiter did not explain specials to us, did not respond to our request for ketchup for French fries (another water had to bring that to our table), foo was just ok.

It was a big disappointment. Super expensive for what you are getting tiny oysters, one of which was bad. Im glad my fiance smelled it first. The owner had the kitchen replace it but bad seafood on the wharf really? Also for nearly 25 dollars, the half crab was 4 or 5 little legs with hardly any meat served with some plain, overcooked rice mushed into a mound and some plain green beans.

It wasn't anything to write home about. The service was the best part and the food came out very quickly. The shrimp scampi was drowning in butter and the drink was far too strong!

Unprofessional waitstaff. Our waiter didn't make eye contact, tell us his name or thank us for visiting the restaurant. The best part was the host who seated us, he was very friendly and sat us at a nice table. We waited 10 minutes for the waiter to get our order and there were only a few people in the entire place. I heard some of the waitstaff swearing and horsing around. We finished our drinks and left. I won't be returning. If they wonder why their restaurant is empty... This is why!

Food was luck warm, the pasta were too salty and the crab too cooked!

Great place to eat seafood in Monterey, we had 3 orders of dungeness crab with our friends from France, it was excellent! The owner and waiter were remarkable. Great wine too!

Our waiter, Angel was extremely attentive, polite....after reading previous reviews I was skeptical we would have a good experience.
All 5 of us enjoyed our dinners; fish n chips, lobster ravioli, salmon pesto...great food, all around good experience. We did plan ahead and make a reservation.

It was closed! We arrived and it was not opened. No one called us or told us.

I came for the crab. It was stale, tiny and basically inedible. Very disappointed

It was very hard finding the place. It took us one and a half hours of driving around to figure out where this place was. No where does it let you know that you need to park and walk to Fisherman Wharf. Not being familiar with the area, it wasn’t that easy to find it. Our GPS didn’t understand that you couldn’t drive there, so it kept trying to get us to the area and then saying we were there, but it wasn’t right. After calling the Crab House, we understood that we had to park and walk. Still we needed to ask someone where the place was. The food was ok, but not worth the effort it took to find it.

The crab house was okay but I wasnt very impressed. For a place that had thousands of reviews their food was sub par and our server seemed to be in a hurry when there was only one other table eating. If this restaurant wasnt as expensive it may have been better, but for the price I was not impressed at all.
