This restaurant was supposed to be one of the top in the area ..a bit disappointed, made reservation at five showed up at six maître d' she suggested didn't have "room" looked inside restaurant looked as though there was plenty! ended up arranging a table for us had Ribeye was about a half inch "1/2""thin ..not a way to serve ribeye! pasta dishes and salads were OK very light poor on wine probably 6 ounces... try Garlic real nice great service! Not employed there LOL just a skier skier!
Decent food, great service, perhaps a little pricey. Dinner for four with only one glass of wine and two desserts was $195. I had the salmon on the menu for $28 which I thought was very good. My husband had the 10-12 oz rib eye for $45 which he thought was just OK for the price. Service was great. The decor is minimalist but clean and comfortable.
Creative food combos, fresh healthy and unique. Risotto was amazing! Ceviche not so much.
The tofu with veggies was surprisingly good. Also the fondue, really more like a cheese dip was great for sharing.
Little to no ambiance. Salad came undressed, and drinks took a long time despite not being busy. Space has potential, but I would not rush back.
Super food excellent service served in a cool Vermont style atmosphere.
Excellent food and courteous staff. Service was at a good pace. Great value.
New Years Eve
The food was hit or miss but the service was great
Good food, all very fresh. Fish cooked perfectly. Good selection of wines and beer
Nice dinner, abundance of food on the plate. Waitress attentive and cocktails were just right.
We’ll be back again.
Amazing ingredients made an amazing meal
Food quality was excellent, and prices reasonable. Menu is varied and sources local ingredients. The chèvre on the butternut salad was just dreamy. Decor was a little spartan but it was cozy sitting near the two sided fireplace. My only complaint was that there was an insanely bright spotlight from a neighboring property shining right into our eyes while seated at the table. The management might want to consider a window film/tint to avoid the diners feeling like they are under an alien attack. I didn’t get to try any cocktails this trip, but I look forward to going back soon to try some drinks and some more menu items.
great server. good american food. expected fondue to be in elevated croc pot to share but it was presented in a tiny oval single serving custard dish and didn’t stay melted hot.
Salmon was very good. Duck & Emu bolognaise was excellent as well as brusell sprouts and butternut squash salad all were terrific. Good wine selection and they served us in good timing.
We were really excited to try what we thought would be some upscale food. We were really disappointed. The food/service was not commensurate with the prices. The fondue appetizer ( poorly described on the menu) came with a roll and a sliced apple - the risotto lacked flavor and the ring of red sauce around it was cold and did not compliment the dish. My salmon was the highlight - cooked correctly and seasoned well. It was too bad the sweet potato hash....was cold. Service was OK.
Excellent all around . I’d be hard pressed to find anything bad. Nice selection of wine, excellent Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand that cost less than Kim Crawford, pleasant staff and amazing maple pork dinner. Suggestion would be a broader menu, snd aside from the name crew? Cru? Crux? All was great!
Such a welcoming place, and everything was delicious. We had the fondue, braised pork, and the duck. The duck was especially good. I'd have a hard time ordering anything next time we're here.
Great food great service really enjoyed our dinner there and will be back!
Crux is a great addition to the Killington restaurant scene! We will definitely be back!!
Very friendly service. Excellent and creative cuisine. The Vermont fondu was especially good, as was the mushroom puffed pastry. Unique and pleasant ambience.
Best food in Killington
My wife and I recently had dinner and we split two entree's. We ordered the Hand made pasta fettuccini and the VT Maple & Molasses Braised Pork. Both dishes were excellent. With out a doubt, the Braised Pork was I best I've had. We will definitely be returning to this place!!
Good meal. Friendly staff. Generous cocktails.
We were very happy with our meal, we ate the salmon and the pork. Eveything was cooked to perfection and very tasty. I would recommand thia restaurant for the quality of the food.
We've been to Crux for dinners on two occasions and on both we had wonderful experiences. We at both times in the main dining room served first by Amy and second by Donna. The food was better than we had imagined the first time and we returned to find out if that had been a fluke. It had not. The second time around was just as good in terms of food service and ambiance. We're somewhat saddened by the fact that the restaurant will close in March for revitalization but, were reassured that what is planned will make for even more enjoyable dining experiences. We look forward to our next times. Thank you for excellence in dining experience.
The salmon and the Brussel sprouts were great and I’m looking forward to trying some other items on the menu.
Cruz was a great find in Killington. The beet salad and duck was outstanding. My son loved his pork sandwich. The restaurant is brand new and beautiful inside. I would definitely recommend dinner or a drink at the bar.
We had a very nice meal at Crux. I would recommend crustier bread with the fondue appetizer and more bread and apples for dipping. Our entrees were excellent. The lighting could be a bit lower with candles on the tables to improve overall ambience. We weren’t fans of the TV in the dining room area.
Very good food and service, excellent cocktails. Average wine list but it fits the customer base. Way, way noisy with loud people and virtually no wall or ceiling materials that absorb sound.
Everyone in our small group found the appetizers and entrees to be exceptional. They are a fussy group about quality and taste and were not disappointed in their first time visit. The person who served us was efficient and friendly, made good suggestions and did not rush us.
The food was delicious! rolls with maple butter and cheese fondue are highly recommended. mushroom puff was tasty, but small. Salmon on grilled Caesar was really well done - salmon very moist. Risotto was really good, and the maple creme brulee was excellent. Really pleased with the food and the sense of humour of the staff. It was a bit pricey, and one of our party of 5 did not get what she ordered ... not sure what happened there. would definitely recommend giving Crux a try!
Note: Crux will be renovating the interior decor in Spring 2019, which is needed to create better ambiance. The food overall was fresh, delicious and savory and the service was terrific. Great farm to table restaurant. Welcome to Killington!
Loved it. We are from NYC, our standards are high. It was yummy. If you don’t want a burger, if you like farm to table, go go go!
Had dinner here on a Saturday night after a day of skiing. The food was good, especially the risotto. The wine list was very good, including wines by the glass from the Loire. However, the timing of the plates out of the kitchen needs improvement. Our first two courses were delivered at the same time, and our third course came out before we were finished with our second course. Consequently, we were done with dinner in 45 minutes, which is not what we prefer for dinner on Saturday night. I think if the timing issue is ironed out, I would return.
Maitre d was rather rude. Service at the table was excellent, food was very good but noise level (from bar) made it hard to have a conversation.
Great overall experience , from walking through the front door we were met by one of the owners who told the history of the company. Wait staff was very friendly and attentive. Food was great and portions were large. Will be going back soon, thanks for a great evening
Love Crux! I have always loved Roots, so it was no surprise that I would love Crux as well. Great atmosphere, awesome staff, incredible, fresh, local food. Win, win all the way around.
Food was excellent, service could be improved- one of our parties dinner was missed. I think with time, service will improve.
Great service at the bar and table, and we loved sitting by the fireplace! Food was delicious. Would recommend !
We greatly enjoyed our dinner at Crux. Good selection on the menu (including several vegetarian options), generous sized portions and a comfortable, attractive dining area. The food was served nice and hot and my water glass was always full. Very happy that they take reservations - so few Killington restaurants do.
