No the same as I remember.A little bit tired now and lost.Everthing ok but no loner special.Little bit overpriced as night cost us over $400.
We came here for our wedding anniversary and decided to bring the kids back as we enjoyed it so much! Both our boys got involved with the floor show (17yr yodeling and 13yr ringing the bull horn) which was great - good old fashioned family fun!!
We visited the Cuckoo 15 years ago and had a great time. We went back again on the weekend and enjoyed all on offer. Food was lovely, service was great and the floor show was brilliant. We travelled over an hour to get there and the trip was well worth it. Would recommend this fantastic spot to anyone
Great experience. Food was great, cocktails were average but overall a fun night.
Our Fathers Day Lunch was special for my partner as he was reliving a day out from when he was a child, Thank you for the special journey and a wonderful day as well. I totally recommend your restaurant to my friends and family for the experience, and the food.
A great family night. Entertainment and food was great.
Nice range of salads, love it. Fun place to celebrate things. Pls give more variation for the show. There used to be more shows in the old time, miss those shows.
My husband loves this restaurant to celebrate father’s day
We arrived with no preconceived ideas of what the restaurant would be like.
We were very pleasantly surprised by a spacious car park and very pleasant staff.
The food was fabulous and the staff were very helpful in every regard.
Our recommendation: Arrive with an empty stomach!
Thank you, we really enjoyed our dinner and the restaurant is great. All good!
My partner and I had a great time at the Cuckoo. There was so much food. Plate after plate, and on a really quiet day with pretty much the entire restaurant to ourselves. Great way to spend lunch on our 5th Anniversary!
Booked in for a Sunday night dinner session for a 13th birthday, and our family of kids aged from 6 to 14 had a great and memorable night. Plenty of great food to eat, fantastic friendly wait staff, quirky and entertaining. Enjoyed it as an experience we won't soon forget, thanks team Cuckoo!
Enjoyed a fantastic evening of fun and good food. The floor show was quite entertaining and the food was plentiful, hot and tasty. Overall a great night.
Very disappointed. There was 6 of us and our table had bench seats, so we spent the evening getting up and down to let our guests get in and out. That type of seating not suited for 6 diners at a buffet. Food was very average considering the price. A boring ordinary buffet. Some of the salads were extremely salty.
We enjoyed the variety of food on offer.
Despite booking a month in advance, we were the only group to be seated seperately, in isolation from the rest of the restaurant. This meant that we did not enjoy the entertainment on offer. Further, the manager did not provide us with an explanation as to why we were seated seperately and a reason was provided only when a wait staff was asked.
We were extremely disappointed in this as it detracted from the overall experience and enjoyment of my mother's birthday celebration.
We celebrated my daughters 18th birthday with family and friends. We all had a wonderful time. The food was of a very high standard. And the desserts were just amazing. So much variety! The service was outstanding and we enjoyed the show very much. I will definitely be going back!! Overall a wonderful day at the Cuckoo!
We were visiting from Sydney and this was our third or fourth visit to The Cukoo Restaurant. We have been going there since the 1980's and were impressed and pleased to see that the same features we first experienced haven't changed over the years. Congratulations to all concerned.
I love Cuckoo Restaurant, always a great ambience, great food, affordable prices, and there is always something in the menu for the entire family!
Unpretentious and decent quality food with a fun homely environment to make for a great afternoon's dining.
Being winter and people come from 80 -100 km away the timing of arrival could be early. Waiting outside in very cold conditions is a health hazard. You definitely need a indoor waiting area maybe near the bar to make it worthwhile for you as well . Being kept outside for 20 min + "also there were others with young children " we dint need to be told your not open yet with sarcasm .
It’s always a pleasure to go to the Cuckoo Restaurant . We really like the food and the atmosphere there .
It's the closest thing to German culinary culture that you'll find in all Melbourne.
Never tire of this fantastic place. Been coming for over 20 years and have nothing but great memories here.
Looking forward to my next visit.
A great family restaurant with fun entertainment, great food and a great atmosphere. Absolutely love coming here!
Great friendly atmosphere. The food was delicious. Great variety of food choices to cater for even the fussiest eater. Will definately be going back.
The staff were very Friendly.
I don't eat a lot of meat so for me there wasn't much available for dinner. While the party I was with enjoyed their food, all meat eaters, I had an egg, some cheese, and some steamed veggies.
I liked the floor show, but feel it went too long.
My fsmily and our guests enjoyed everything at Cuckoo: the ambience, the food, the songs. We love the voice of the singers.
Yes I would recommend the cuckoo restaurant to all I know
My partner and my parents were there and we had a great night! We will definitely come back!
For the price please increase the options for desserts and the quality of pancake if made fresh. Thanks
We all had a lovely celebration. Thanks for everything.
Christmas in July was a fun experience at cuckoo. The ambience, decorations and food all had the christmas spirit and cheer.
Food and venue are amazing! Staff are super friendly and helpful (Tracey was awesome) We loved our lunch at the cuckoo
A group of us, seven in total visited the Cuckoo for Sunday lunch.
We had planned this quite a few months back as our history eating at the Cuckoo dates back from the late 1970’s ; Christmas, birthdays and special occasions.
We last visited the Cuckoo a few years back given we know reside quite a long distance from the venue.
I decided to check the reviews online hoping to give me an insight to what people thought of the Cuckoo in these modern times. Unfortunately I did read quite a few reviews which were negative for a variety of reasons. In fact at one point I thought that perhaps the Cuckoo was no longer the Cuckoo we once enjoyed. Some of the reviews mentioned changes in management, lack of food choices and even issues with service and attitudes from Staff waiting on tables.
There was a lot of great reviews.
Well let me say with total honesty, the food quality and choices, (including the selection of sweets) the service from Staff and management was absolutely faultless. It was still the Cuckoo I remembered from day one.
Thank you from all of us for a perfect afternoon.
We will return.

Too expensive. NO ENTERTAINMENT as stated on website. Was put in a room with a huge private church group who made their own speeches on microphone and really ruined our evening. Very disappointed for the cost. Don’t waste your money on this place. Made out it was a fun night of entertainment but it’s just a money pit with nothing personal about it. Terrible.
Absolute fabulous food and great entertainment. Great night out.
We have many memories of dining at the cuckoo for our family birthdays from the early seventies onwards..we returned again today for my mum’ s 89 birthday.. food was great, fresh and delicious, and so glad there was several traditional German dishes to choose from.. the entertainment was brilliant, the female singer was great and her yodel skills were terrific ..as was the cow bell ringing performance with some school students..thank you!
Absolutely amazing experience as always at the Cuckoo! Even the owner walks around checking in on everyone. There was a school there, hence high noise levels but they were great and added to the atmosphere. Cannot wait to go again!
Great entertainment and the service was fabulous by all staff. Food was pretty good, lots of variety and no reason to walk away feeling not satisfied. Caters for all dietary needs. Will definitely go back again.
An absolute belly laugh of a night was had, fantastic food. Simply put, an excellent night out.
I have to say in the last 40 or so years that we have been supporting the Cuckoo Restaurant this has to have been the most disappointing luncheon experience for us. The kids were so excited about a family luncheon together but sadly it was not up to standard. The food appeared to have been reheated dry and seemed to have been over cooked and tasteless..was definitely not up to the previous standard over the years and very disappointing. The entertainment was boring and lack lustre although I have to say the lady singer was a very good at yodeling. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Certainly not value for our money. We kind of got the feeling that because it was a weekday luncheon it wasn’t important. If Friday and Saturday nights warrant more effort with the entertainment and quality of food then so be it but don’t expect the same dollar value. Sad to say The Cuckoo Restaurant is iconic and we have enjoyed our family celebrations over the years but judging by this recent experience I honestly won’t feel comfortable recommending you to anyone I know.
