Dobson & Parnell
Spot on. Excellant food. Knowledgable and friendly staff
We ate here for a birthday weekend away. The food was exemplary, the service was great we had an amazing night. Thoroughly recommend a visit
Second time visiting Dobson and Parnell and cannot fault it! Amazing food and service, don't feel pestered and everything is to such a high standard. Visited this time for a birthday and loved the card and "cake" given to celebrate, such a nice wee touch! Will definitely be back :)
Had a brilliant meal
Delicious food, good value, pleasant atmosphere, happy diners!
Our first time here for lunch and it definitely won't be our last. excellent service and the food was delicious. We ordered from the set menu for lunch which offered a good choice and beautiful presentation.
After wanting to try this restaurant for a while my children bought me a voucher as a birthday gift, 3 courses and a glass of fizz. Book table for 5.30 as going to Sage for concert. The staff were not at all friendly, the service was poor and the food what you got if it was mediocre, would not recommend or return was much better when it was Pan Haggerty .
Beautiful starters and very good mains and desserts. We all found the seasonal veg to be very overly salty, the only criticism (if you can call it that).
Excellent value for money with 3 course lunch set at £15, beautiful surroundings and excellent service.
Wine on the pricey side at £8.30 for 250ml glass.
Great venue, staff are friendly and the service is very efficient. Food is fab, we had a great meal.
Dinner for my daughters birthday
Beautiful food expertly presented and a restaurant full of ambience
Thank you all
Food and ambiance were also good. Staff also great, took the measure of us and responded accordingly. Enjoyed a leisurely 3 course meal with friends where we could talk and relax.
We chose Dobson and Parnell for a pre theatre dinner. The food was beautifully presented and cooked. Very tasty and the wine was lovely.
Absolutely perfect end to an evening with my better half.
We were looked after by Toby who new a good deal about the menu and made sure we were happy without interrupting our meal.
We are back in Newcastle soon and will be booking again.
Myself and my husband had the 7 course tasting menu was fantastic! The food is great the staff are so friendly and attentive 10/10 !!!
Outstanding tasting menu with wine pairing. Compliments to the chef! Front of house staff very informative and friendly. Would highly recommend!
Took up their lunch offer! Nicely balanced menu only one main had a supplement. Nice touch was matched wines for starter and main at £10. Staff were attentive without being over bearing. Beautiful food, very well presented and enough room between tables.
Our first visit to this restaurant although we have visited other venues within the group. We will definitely be back. I highly recommend this place.
I opted for the smoked haddock starter. The pearl barley risotto was an inspired base to the perfectly cooked fish ,which was beautifully and delicately smoked. (No nasty yellow surprises in THIS resteraunt). Main course pan fried cod. What can I say?Crispy skin.Firm white fish that really DID taste as if it had just been landed, and the joy of lightly cooked greens on the side.Note.NO seasoning at all required.
The highlight for me was the "2 matching wines "deal.I'm not a wine snob and I do truly enjoy the continual learning process.
Both wines were presented with a resume of their origin and qualities ,a lovely touch. And yes, they complimented my dishes perfectly.
Choux bun apple and cinnamon pie with ice cream for me (hate cream) finished off my dining experience with a flourish.
My husband's choices (different) were equally impressive (I tasted) washed down with a bottle of locally brewed beer.
The staff were discreet yet attentive, friendly and VERY knowledgeable.
Very good all round. Would highly recommend this restaurant
Slightly disappointed with limited choice of main course & accompaniments to the meat.
Restaurant very busy & extremely loud which was a distraction.
Enjoyed the little amuses Bouches served between courses.
Service was generally good.
Steak poor quality, sat at a table which appeared to be waiting area, will not be returning.
Beautiful food and lovely staff -will definitely return
All round lovely experience, staff friendly, food good.
Everything was great but a loud party of ladies were next to us.
Will come back as it’s my favourite.
Having never eaten out in Newcastle before, we were blown away by the quality of the food we enjoyed at Dobson & Parnell. It’s fine dining food but the vibe relaxed and unpretentious. If like I was, you are doing your research on where to eat in Newcastle then don’t hesitate to book here. You won’t be disappointed.
Visited on a Friday lunchtime and was one of only four tables occupied so the restaurant was quiet.
The staff were friendly and knowledgeable.
We ordered from the set menu which is very good value. We also had two cocktails for £10.
The food arrived promptly and was generally very good. It was let down by a slightly soggy couscous served with a lovely piece of Hake. Also the choux pastry served as one of the desserts was slightly disappointing. The chocolate dessert was superb.
Overall we had a good time and it’s well worth a visit
Very nice food at a brilliant value price. Pleasant and comfortable surroundings.
Excellent Sunday lunch in very nice surroundings. The service and food was 1st class. Loved the ham terrine starter and belly pork main. No room for pudding unfortunately. Definitely recommend and will return soon with friends.
Birthday. Food and service excellent
Was okay but not great value for money.
I didnt feel it was fine dining.
I much prefer there sister restaurant blackfriars
Really nice food and really friendly staff. Wait was quite long for the mains when it wasn’t very busy but other than that was very good.
Always excellent, we will definitely return.
Enjoyable tasting menu with paired wines for each course in old restored victorian premises near the quayside. Knowledgable service about ingredients and wines, without being obtrusive. We really enjoyed the experience and would not hesitate to recommend to others visiting Newcastle/Gateshead.
Great food, wine and service. I’d definitely recommend this place. I’ve been a few times before and never fails to impress. I also go to their other restaurants Hinnies and Blackfriars. All great.
Great food at a great price. Would definitely visit again.
Had a great night and lovely meal!! Food was great and so was the service :)
Superb food from a varied menu. Beautiful presentation and skilled staff knowledgeable about the menu and wine choices.
Beautiful food elegantly presented, friendly staff who are approachable and put you at ease from the moment you arrive. Couldn't fault it and will definitely be returning for another enjoyable night.
The food was wonderful. I don't think I've had food taste that good with such a variety of flavors in a long time. The staff were really friendly. It did cost a bit more than we usually would spend on a meal, but we figured that's what you have to pay for amazing flavor.
We had a lovely meal - the wine matching really enhanced the experience and flavours of the dishes
