Doc B’s Restaurant + Bar - River North
Salads are great; parking validation (no valet) is fine. Our waiter was excellent, and the noise level was quite acceptable. This was my first time; I'll be back
The waitress we had was one of the best waitresses I have ever had. Her professionalism and attention to our family was second to none
Smoke from outside wafted in for a long time and was gross.
It was a good casual restaurant.
this restaurant has great location and very good food. It is comfortable and friendly.
great lunch - The Napa burger was nice (I liked the touch of avocado the house cocktail of Crazy Beautiful made the experience even better (Vodka, Voveti, elderflower, spiced pear_
Perfect restaurant food staff ambiance energy. My go-to alone and with friends.
Good is Chicago good, so keeps up with the best of them. Pork carnita sandwich perfect - soice chicken sandwich not spice but delicious.
1 water for 3? Had to ask twice....not very attentive but nothing to prevent us from enjoying again
Chips and guacamole where awesome
great food and service, great gluten free options
The wait staff are always very friendly. And the food is always delicious!
Corn app was too spicy. California salad was amazing as always. Great service as always!
Food was blah. Drinks were giod
This was our second time here in two weeks. First time for lunch, this time dinner. Both times have been delicious!! Tried their kale artichoke dip...so good! Can’t wait to go back. Chicken is moist and tasty. Salads have great flavor and are so fresh! We are fans of Doc B’s. We’ll be back again soon!!
It was just OK,nothing special. Server was excellent and attentive to us. Hostess were great too.
Good food. Good experience
Been coming here as my neighborhood go-to for a while and always enjoyed it but last visit was somewhat disappointing. Maybe just an off day for lunch. Service was great but food missed the mark. Matzo ball soup was kind of warm, not really hot. Both my guests ordered burgers medium and they cane well-done. I usually get one of their Wok Bowls but opted for the crispy chicken sandwich. Was looking forward to a nicely battered and crunchy chicken breast, but the sandwich turned out to be a pre-formed deep fried chicken patty. Really disappointed. Will return and hopefully they will up their game next time.
One of my top 3 favorite places to eat in Chicago! Food is great and always consistent!
I met an old friend and we had a wonderful dinner here. We both had the tuna salad with avocado, mango and ginger. It was even better than it sounded! I rarely finish a meal at a restaurant, but I finished this. It was delicious. In addition to the wonderful food, our waitress rushed to place our drink order so we could get the happy hour price. The other nice thing was that although we had finished our food and were nursing a second drink, we were in no way encouraged to leave. The place was crowded and though there were open tables, we had a very nice booth. I enjoyed the experience and the service very much. I'm looking forward to going back there.
Excellent place to eat, inside or out. Super service, very good food, atmosphere was very good, just a little noisy.
Our service was wonderful - thank you, Madison! The food was delicious for vegan and non vegan. The vibe of the restaurant was relaxed and inviting. Great experience!
Really cute place and the food was delicious. Loved the turkey burger. Great neighborhood place.
Overall experience was excellent. It’s a bar, and a bit loud, but it didn’t diminish our meal. The service was impeccable, beginning with the hostess. We have a food allergy and the kitchen accommodated us without question. We started with the homemade guacamole, served with tasty sweet potato chips; and the days special - sesame teriyaki chicken lettuce wrap. It was seriously delicious. We really didn’t need anything else, but we ordered sandwiches anyway. The corned beef, the carnitas and the filet mignon sandwiches were all satisfying and tasty.
Food wasn’t bad, but didn’t satiate me like I’d hoped.
We made a reservation and specifically asked for a booth since we both have bad backs. We arrived 5 minutes before our reservation and a single person who walked in without a reservation was given our booth. Needless to say we left. We go there very often and this was inexcusable. Our booth should have been reserved. Very poor management
The menu had a lot of good choices, and the Cobb salad was amazing! The prices were very good for downtown Chicago.
Food and ambiance was excellent, service was a little slow and it wasn’t very busy. Overall a good experience and we would definitely return.
The waiter did very good for what he said was his first day on the job.
Very enjoyable experience. Wonderful customer service on the phone as well as tableside service. Food was great.
Great service ! Would definitely got back! Awesome food for the price
It was way too hot in the place.
Perfect spot for after work happy hour. Delicious food and drinks for the price!
Delicious food—quick service! Overall great experience
Everything was great except the hostess did not acknowledge my Open Table reservation and they flagged us as a no show which I then had to prove that we were on time and present.
Great place! Great food
The restaurant was pleasant and the food tasty. The Matzah ball soup was flavorful but the Matzah was made with whole wheat which was a little different. The salad was good and the cornbread croutons were good enough to be a standalone side-dish. I had a chicken sandwich that was flavorful, juicy, and testy. The service was very good, attentive and friendly. The highlight of the meal was the chocolate cake though it would have been nice to be able to get it ala mode. I would definitely visit again.
Doc B's is the perfect restaurant for casual dining. Menu offers a lot of delicious options, without being overwhelming. The Kale brussel sprouts salad is the best salad I've ever had, and it never disappoints. We've been to Doc B's several times because the quality of the food is outstanding, and the service is excellent. You can't go wrong - burgers, wok bowl, BBQ pork are just some of the food we've tried. Guacamole with homemade chips is a substantial serving, and is excellent as well.
We really enjoyed our lunch at Doc B’s. I never had guacamole with sweet potato chips, but it was delicious! It seemed to be very popular since we noticed many tables also ordered the same. The plate comes with a healthy helping of guacamole and loads of chips; it’s definitely large enough to share between 3 people. For our entree, we ordered the Knife and Fork Cobb salad, the corned beef sandwich and the perch special of the day. Everyone was mostly pleased with their choice. However, the corned beef was slightly disappointing. The Swiss cheese seemed old and hard; it slipped out of the sandwich and was not melted or soft. I also expected it to be oversized like a deli sandwich, but it was rather small to medium sized. Nevertheless, despite the size and cheese, it was delicious. I would definitely eat here again, the burgers looked enticing.
