Doc B’s Restaurant + Bar - River North
Perfect spot for after work happy hour. Delicious food and drinks for the price!
Delicious food—quick service! Overall great experience
Everything was great except the hostess did not acknowledge my Open Table reservation and they flagged us as a no show which I then had to prove that we were on time and present.
Great place! Great food
The restaurant was pleasant and the food tasty. The Matzah ball soup was flavorful but the Matzah was made with whole wheat which was a little different. The salad was good and the cornbread croutons were good enough to be a standalone side-dish. I had a chicken sandwich that was flavorful, juicy, and testy. The service was very good, attentive and friendly. The highlight of the meal was the chocolate cake though it would have been nice to be able to get it ala mode. I would definitely visit again.
Doc B's is the perfect restaurant for casual dining. Menu offers a lot of delicious options, without being overwhelming. The Kale brussel sprouts salad is the best salad I've ever had, and it never disappoints. We've been to Doc B's several times because the quality of the food is outstanding, and the service is excellent. You can't go wrong - burgers, wok bowl, BBQ pork are just some of the food we've tried. Guacamole with homemade chips is a substantial serving, and is excellent as well.
We really enjoyed our lunch at Doc B’s. I never had guacamole with sweet potato chips, but it was delicious! It seemed to be very popular since we noticed many tables also ordered the same. The plate comes with a healthy helping of guacamole and loads of chips; it’s definitely large enough to share between 3 people. For our entree, we ordered the Knife and Fork Cobb salad, the corned beef sandwich and the perch special of the day. Everyone was mostly pleased with their choice. However, the corned beef was slightly disappointing. The Swiss cheese seemed old and hard; it slipped out of the sandwich and was not melted or soft. I also expected it to be oversized like a deli sandwich, but it was rather small to medium sized. Nevertheless, despite the size and cheese, it was delicious. I would definitely eat here again, the burgers looked enticing.
On vacation in the area selected based on price and customer feedback. Overall we had a good time only feedback is the restaurant seems tired.
Was extremely hot inside
My group of friends all enjoyed our meal at Doc B's. The food was delicious and fresh!
Our waiter, Aidan, was very accommodating and did not rush us, even though it was the lunchtime rush when we first arrived. The salads were very good. The cinnamon toast crunch cheesecake – which we shared among three of us – was so delicious and rich!
Great food and great service. The wok bowl and filet sandwich was phenomenal. Will return!
What a terrific staff. They were so accommodating to my multiple allergies and even suggested some combinations specific to my needs. I have already gone back 2 more times and I was only in Chicago for 3 days :)
Highly recommend!! We arrived late and with more people than planned. The hostesses were very gracious in accommodating us. And boy am I glad! The food was phenomenal. I will visit again when I am back in town.
The staff was fantastic and the service was stellar. We shared a Napa Burger that was juicy and flavorful!! We also shared a salad that was delicious with Kale but I can’t remember the name.
Our waiter, Eddie, was amazing. We visited a location in Florida and had to come back when we visited Chicago. Food is real good and fresh, and the ribs are amazing. Chicken wings are one of my favorites as well. Would definitely go back and wish they would expand to Detroit.
This was our second visit to Doc B's. We were again impressed with the quality of the food and the good service. We will be back.
Good food and service, but more hype than reality. They really push the guacamole and chips.
Great meal with outstanding service, Madison was amazing.
I took my daughters, 16 and 12, along with my mother to Doc B’s for dinner and we loved it! Great food!
It was just average. Nothing special.
Super quiet on a Sunday. Great menu with something that should suit everyone in the party. Service was excellent.
Wonderful lunch with friends. Service was attentive without hovering, food was incredible —healthy and delicious.
This outpost of Doc B's is likely more attractive as a lunch spot than a dinner location. We came before a concert and had a leisurely dinner that was...fine. We were seated near the front window which could have been great but there was a TV literally inches from our faces. Distracting and made us feel like we were in a sports bar. The food was solid. The salads are very good, the hot chicken, a deep fried chicken with a spicy sweet and sour sauce, was surprisingly dry on the inside. Again nothing bad, but not particularly standout either.
Great food every time. Ribs are delicious. Love the key lime pie.
Good place. Up beat. Get food quickly so ideal for before movies. Good place to watch sports
One of our favorites. Sat a little too close to the front door so it was cold. Food, drinks and service was great, as always!
Great business and social lunch spot, I enjoyed the Cobb salad.
Delicious. Always love to eat here when in town!
The food was very tasty, our server Amanda was very nice and made sure my friend and I got our food quickly since we were in a bit of a time crunch! This was our second time here and it was very enjoyable!
My blue burger was great but my husbands burger with the peppers was good but had more heat than he expected.
Good lunch. Usual bar fare but there is something about the French fries, extra crispy on the outside...perfect!
Amazing food! Full of flavor and unique combinations.
Excellent food, wonderful service, and busy, yet friendly atmosphere.
Service is fantastic. We enjoyed the food more than much more expensive places. They seemed to a big delivery business too.
Great food in a neighborhood filled with big Italian and steak houses.
Literally the worst hamburger i have ever tried to consume. There was a mountain of shredded cheddar cheese that was on top of my burger unmelted. I don’t normally review places, but it was almost comical how badly they prepared this burger. Maybe just get a salad if you come here. My fries also tasted soapy. (At least they wash their hands)
Our trip to Doc B's was exactly as we'd hoped. Back corner booth, attentive but quiet wait staff, delicious food. We initially had reservations at Eddie V's but didn't want to get all dressed up and spend $200 for dinner. Doc B's has different environment, different food and different service, so I'm not comparing. Just thought I'd mention it. We'd definitely recommend.
Great lunch with drinks on a busy day. Thank you for a great experience.
