Dolce Restaurant & Wine Bar
We went 5:30pm. We made a reservation and were seated right away. The service and food was absolutely fabulous. It was a fantastic night. I highly recommend Dolce
Enjoyed a relaxing evening. Nice wine list, reasonably priced. Enjoyed our Caesar salad...very cheesy! Scallops/arugula/orange starter was well cooked and flavorful. Mushroom ravioli in Alfredo sauce was very rich, but a comfortable size to not overwhelm. Not full on aSaturday evening is worrisome...well worth the visit.
We've been coming to Dolce for a couple of years now. The restaurant is always providing great tasting food at a proper portion size for a good value. The service and food is always reliable and they always have great specials. One of the specials that I always got when it was available was pappardelle with braised short ribs. I was so glad to see that this special has become a regular menu item since it is my "go to" meal when we visit. As long as Dolce is there, we'll continue to go for dinners. Keep up the good food and great service!
We love this restaurant! Beautiful room, fantastic service, and the food is to die for. We'll be back again and again!
We’ve been to Dolce multiple times since they first opened. They were amazing then, not as good then, they had a comeback....this visit was the worst. I attempted to order a cocktail & they were out of some component of my initial choice & then my back up. The burrata app was awesome as usual but then our carbonara was literally cold & tasteless. The service was kind of awkward (perhaps due to the cocktail situation) but then they never even asked how our food was so we were unable to tell them.
Good service. Wines are reasonably priced. Menu selections are somewhat limited.
Have always liked Dolce...good food, reasonable and a nice neighborhood spot. My last 2 visits have been disappointing at best. Food this visit was inedible and took forever. Service was lackluster. Won't be back.
I ordered scallops on a bed of arugula and my husband pasta puttanesca and a salad. Food was bland and disappointing. Salt and pepper shakers were sticky. My white pants got dirty from sitting on the (inside) bench
There are so many other and better Italian restaurants in the western suburbs. Don't waste your time with this one.
Nice small Italian restaurant. Service was wonderful. Food very good. A little pricey.
The food at Dolce is excellent but the noise level is deafening. They should consider something to absorb some of the sound.
We enjoyed our first visit to Dolce since the "new" management (so, I guess it's been quite a while since we've been there!). Saturday night was pleasantly busy, but no so loud as to make conversation difficult. Service was excellent, we didn't feel rushed, although the place was full. Since we shared every item we ordered, pacing was good, and we got to enjoy each course before the next one arrived. Everything was great, our favorite was the pappadelle with short rib---it arrived piping hot and delicious! Our least favorite was probably the sausage pizza---we felt the sausage wasn't cooked quite enough---certainly not raw, but could have had a little more heat time. Nicely priced wine list, many by the glass or flight. Owners checked in with us, so we felt like they truly cared about what was going on in their shop. We'll be back, a neighborhood gem!
Delightful spot, and very easy to get to! Went at 6:30pm on a Friday night, and the atmosphere was quiet (although still family friendly, as the table next to us had some kiddos!). While I'm currently pregnant, I could not imbibe, but I did check out their amazing wine list and I can't wait to go back!
It's a wonderful neighborhood place! Has some great wines. Friendly staff, with very good service. Ingredients are FRESH, and usually locally sourced. Very pricey for what you get. We spent $50/person for very little food and just one glass of (excellent) wine each. Food was good, but not great. Pizza dough, although good, is not up to the standards of the previous owner. And ours was under-baked. We would recommend you give it a try. Just keep in mind what others in the general neighborhood are charging for similar approaches (think Topaz or the bar at Vie).
Very nice experience. Cheese and meat tray was good. Pasta and pizza choices were also tasty.
Dinner with my wife!
Loved this small Italian restaurant ! Service was super and very friendly!
I liked the fact that it was a small restaurant and that it had an open kitchen. You could really enjoy the smell of the food as it was cooking. My wife had the chicken parmesan and I had the spaghetti carbonara. The chicken parmesan was not heavily bread so was very nice. My carbonara was very good because the sauce was not too heavy. Good choices of wine by the glass. The wine special was excellent. We are definitely going to go back and try the pizza!
The food was good. We were there the beginning of spring break and the place was empty. They do not have a gluten free menu but try to accommodate.
Love this restaurant! Food is always great... Excellent wine selection. Plenty of parking. Definitely a local gem!
Visited Dolce on a recent Friday. Our waitress never introduced herself to us:( She pressured us into ordering before we were really ready. The food was delicious but the service wasn’t that great.
Awesome service by Helen. The salads and pizza “hit the spot” on a Friday night in Lent.
We used to dine here several years ago and enjoyed it very much but there was a change in owners and we stopped dining there. Well we decided to dine there again last week as we live only 5 minutes away and were very glad we did. They have expanded their menu options, bigger wine selections and even have cocktail service. We all had a wonderful caesar salad for starters. I enjoyed the Chicken Panko with capers, my wife had the Dover Sole and our guest had a pasta dish and all were wonderful. One thing we were puzzled with was we were never offered bread or rolls with our dinner! The noise level was very low so we could have meaningful discussion with out having to raise our voices! Also the owner was present and our server was attentive but not hovering. The food and drink prices were very reasonable!
Will definitely return again!
Great food consistently !!!!!! Chicken dishes Delish!
Awesome service by Daisy! We enjoyed a quick, but delicious, dinner at Dolce. Having two young children with us, we were served pleasantly and efficiently by Daisy. The pizzas and pinko chicken were outstanding as always.
Very good. Loved that the food is fresh. Menu is somewhat limited, but this allows them to concentrate on what they do well.
They had some kitchen issues that night but the staff was wonderful in keeping us informed. The food was outstanding
The food was outstanding!! Great little relaxed atmosphere for some serious gourmet food.
We had excellent service by Matt and enjoyed outstanding food. We started with the Scallop appetizer with a sweet potato pancake, arugula, oranges and balsamic dressing...delightful. Then we had Dover sole and Short ribs for entrees. The sole was prepared in a lush butter sauce and served over sautéed spinach. It melted in my mouth. My husband loved the short rib entree. Wine was perfect.
Everything was generally great.
We had a table by the door and it was in the 20's and every time the door opened we were freezing. The was a space heater, but the placement of the door just made it very cold in the front part of this fairly small space.
Also, we had a reservation at 6 PM and they were already out of the scallop small plate option. We had also heard about their great squash soup, but they were out of that as well this particular evening.
The server was very nice and friendly. The food was very good.
Would recommend this place, just sit in the far rear of the restaurant on cold nights.
