Reservation was honored as soon as we arrived. We needed to make a concert so we ordered everything at once. Food came quickly and was delicious. We enjoyed the Brussels sprouts, broccolini and the Le Came Pizza. The sprouts and broccolini were cooked perfectly, crunchy and flavorful, and the pizza was really good. I thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience!
Not rushing back although my brother-in-law loved his dish, Marechiaro. The calamari & shrimp appetizer was uneventful, and the Fungo Pizza was just tasty.
We had salad, pizza and pasta, which were pretty good but not stellar. The service was so-so but you want to give restaurants some slack during covid times. But our real problem with the restaurant was the noise level. It wasn't not crowded so they made up for it by playing extremely loud music, which made it painful to talk. You really don't want to shout in the middle of an airborne pandemic but that was what we were reduced to.
It was wonderful and all of the servers were kind courteous and had great recommendations. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
The Ravioli is the best ravioli I have ever had. It is so delicious I could eat multiple at one time. In fact my friend and I went back after eating there once this week b/c the ravioli was that good.
LOVED our food and this restaurant. My only complaint was that it feels way too busy and our server was occupied a lot. But the food was delicious and comforting. Highly recommend!
Great food and service was really good aside form the fact that it seemed they were very understaffed.
Favorite pizza in SF!
Fabulous food and excellent service make a trip to Doppio Zero well worth it!!
Went to Doppio Zero (Hayes Street) on Sunday (05SEP21). It's an easy walk from Davies Hall or the War Memorial so it's great for pre- or post-performance dining. We had a great meal there including shishito peppers, truffle fries and a hearts of palm salad for starters and a couple of different pastas and a Chorizo pizza with added jalapeños. Our server (don't know her name, but she was excellent) made us excellent Caffe Americanos and everything about the meal was fantastic. We wanted to have dessert, but were too full! Great value, great service and great food... highly recommended!
Delicious food and drinks. Service was a bit slow but we weren’t in a hurry so it was fine. We’d definitely go again
The food was very good, but the front of the house could be better run. We sat at an outside table, which was sticky. We asked for extra napkins to use as placemats and let our server know the table was dirty. He even touched it and agreed but didn't make a move to clean it!? One of the bread plates was also dirty and he replaced it.
Our server disappeared for very long periods of time and toward the end of our meal we had to ask another server to get him - twice.
The food was very good. We had two different pasta dishes, both excellent, and a delicious salad. The broccolini was undercooked - I suppose they prefer it that way but I could not cut it with my knife.
Pizzas are excellent!
Great food in a wonderful setting with excellent service! On a short visit from Santa Cruz, we loved everything about the meal from the delicious brussel sprout & polpettine appetizers, the tasty trecciolina salad along with our Doppio Zero white pizza & Zuppa Di Pesce! Our server, Emerald, did a fabulous job throughout. She recommended the perfect accompanying wine and gave us a generous pour of her wonderful homemade Limoncello. Thank you for a great evening - we shall definitely return!
Too crowded. Good food
Great restaurant and service!
Was sitting outside so the noise was the be expected. Looking forward to going back and trying more of this delicious food!!
I had the salmon. Originally I was thinking pizza but decided on salmon instead. I'm glad I did! It was delicious! Cooked perfectly and looked great too. My husband had the calzone. That too was delicious!
A group of friends met before the Van Gogh immersive exhibit and Doppio Zero was a great location being a short walk...and open on Monday! We were really pleasantly surprised by how tasty Doppio Zero was! All the small plates, pizzas, and pastas were delicious and they have a great selection of wine! For sure, we'll be back!
Birthday. Clearly short-staffed; we waited upwards of 20 minutes between visits. Not their fault—they were friendly, cordial and responded to requests as best they were able.
Always great experience with service and food. Highly recommend for a casual lunch or dinner in San Francisco
great pizza and pasta dishes. everyone in my group liked the food. the service was great. we were seated in a parklet on Gough Street, which has a ton of traffic, and at dinnertime it felt like eating on the side of the freeway.
Food was excellent, but the service was horrendous. It started when our server was not familiar with the pre-dinner cocktail one of our party ordered. We told him how to make it. He spoke to the bartender and came back and told us he did not know the cocktail either. We explained the ingredients again and told him to simply bring a glass of red wine instead. The server said he would get the bartender to make the cocktail. Appetizers came, but no cocktail. Entrees came and still no wine or cocktail for our poor thirsty friend. I went inside to speak the the hostess. They sent out some wine. Server apologized, said he would comp drinks, but...Halfway through entrees I ordered a second glass of wine, but it never came.
The rest of the staff was very helpful and concerned for us, however, mostly what they did was tell us they would get our server, who never appeared... None of the adjacent table had any issues. They were all served promptly. Asked for check...I ended up going inside to get the check and to pay.
Nothing on our bill was comped.
I really enjoyed the brussels sprouts. The shoestring french fries are delicious, too.
Great experience minus the idiotic street “performer” who thought he should walk up and down the closed off street playing his boom box. The food, including the pizza and , seams authentically provincial Southern Italian. Subtle flavors, nothing spicy, despite some menu descriptions that attest to spice. The richness of the eevo on the pizza and the san marzano tomatoes in the sauce seduces. Desserts are great but not expert. Service is friendly and attentive, food came quickly, considering they definitely had a full house by 6pm when we were opting for multiple desserts. We were 7 in total at 2 tables in the parklet, but only experienced some very short waits between courses. They did a much better job than in many white-tablecloths we’ve dined at on Friday night in town. I’d go back in a heartbeat and try other dishes, some grappa. We’re off to the symphony for the kids to hear Starwars and ET themes. Never a worry on timing. Kudos and hats off to Doppio!
I adore this place!
Now that the parklets are staying, they can maybe put some love into theirs. The food and service is stellar!
Birthday. Loved it though pizza was a little soggy on crust and pasta with broccolini no was under cooked. But good value and great Manhattan and friendly bar tender.
Long waiting. Pizzas arrived at different times. Mozzarella on the pizza was more like cheese, far from being fresh
Great food. Fun atmosphere!!
Outstanding pizza and other Italian dishes!
We sat outside and had a fantastic meal. We had burrata, truffle fries and brussel sprouts for apps then pizza and pasta as a main course. Food was good, our server was prompt and considerate and we truly enjoyed the experience. We sat on the busy side of the street, so it was naturally pretty loud, but the side street or inside would have been very different.
Excellent tasty Italian Food in Hayes Valley near Civic Center
I really wanted to like this place. We went to the new one in concord, and we’re disappointed there as well.
Bad service (inattentive to a fault)
Did I mention bad service ?
Te food was excellent. We sat outside, so it was a bit distracting with so many people walking by. The service was not bad, but mediocre. We waited quite a long time for our bill after we finished eating and we had to finally ask for it.
I absolutely adored this restaurant. The food was delicious - we had the Brussel sprouts, truffle fries, nectarine salad, meatballs and a pizza. The ambiance was awesome inside and out- lively but not super loud. The service was above and beyond. I was there with my 2 year old, and anyone who has dined with a toddler knows it’s stressful. My son was really interested in the pizza oven, but we were seated outside. The restaurant not only moved us to inside…the chef brought my son over a little plate of pizza dough for my son to play with. Their observation of how to make our night great was really touching. I felt like I was dining with distant, Italian family!
They seated us right away in requested outdoor seating that was well built to keep us cozy and block the wind. The lobster special was delicious, as was the rigatoni and margarita pizza. Apricot salad and bread for appetizers was delicious. We had the profiteroles for desert that were fabulous. Great staff, amazing service and top notch Italian food.
Special drink was fun. Food was good. Table was wobbly.
Thank you so much for an incredible dining experience for my birthday. Everything was perfect, and the service could not have been lovelier. See you again very soon!
Thrilled to have Doppio in the Hayes Valley! You can get pizza or broccoli and everything in between. The cocktails are indulgent
This place is wonderful! Everything was so delicious and the vibe was perfect!
