Double Rainbow Bar & Eating House
This place is definitely worth a visit. The staff are super friendly and helpful and the food was delicious.
Double rainbow is in a wonderful location. The wait staff were welcoming and warm. The food was not up to the standard I amused to for the price point. When I compare this to Low Key Chow House, No Mafia and bivouac. I would not recommend the chef suggestion menu, will give double rainbow another chance and order items off the menu.
Excellent pan Asian food at Double Rainbow. The flavours on simple produce such as peanuts and cucumber are remarkable. The variety of small and large plates means something for all tastes. The menus/ordering system is user friendly. Drinks list is good and service friendly. A little noisy - but hey it was Friday night and it is a bar too! Perfect for groups with the long tables.
Fantastic food which came out so quickly. We ordered mainly smalls and there was more than enough food. Definitely recommend.
I love this place and have been many times. Chilled and cool vibe with young professional and confident floor staff. You can feel the clever and sophisticated management that sits behind it all. Great sitting at the kitchen "Pass" and hitting the rooftop bar. Hipster in a good way and right up there internationally. I'm not hip or young --but this place is and I love it and the dudes that run it always greet and serve me like a friend. Awesome. Oh yeah-- food is fantastic. Have the Lamb!
This place surpassed my expectations. The food was so tasty and delicious. Very reasonably priced. Staff were friendly and the service was good.
The food was delicious and tasty. The service was outstanding. All staff were helpful and welcoming.
Downtown Chinese with a super sassy twist. Unique setting, like walking into the scene of a play....it’s playful and staff are delightful.
Double Rainbow does Asian Fusion better than Chin Chin and what makes it even better than fantastic is you can book!!
Delicious food, staff have good energy, fun atmosphere. A welcome addition to the Perth scene.
Food was delicious and staff were very friendly, we also enjoyed the show
Delicious food. Trendy fun atmosphere. Unfortunately, we were seated on bar stools despite having requested low table seating. The food was delicious but the portions for different plates within the same category varied widely so it was difficult to judge how much to order. When we ordered more food it didn't arrive and after waiting for a very long time we had to ask for it. Despite that we enjoyed it and would visit again.
The set menu was amazing! I would never have picked those dishes but I am so glad the set menu option was there, it was one of the tastiest, most interesting eating experiences ever!
We had some of the best oriental style food in Perth fabulous, loved every dish, cannot wait to return and try some different dishes
Would highly recommend
We were lucky enough to sit where the talented chefs were cooking, thier attention to detail was outstanding
Authentic street food, great service vibrant atmosphere
Some of the best food we've eaten in Perth and service was second to none. A very different menu so be prepared to experiment, but if you’re a bit conservative then there is still food to satisfy. We sat at the Chef’s table ie. bar overlooking the chefs kitchen which gave a very cool and interesting vibe. We were seeing a show afterwards and they ensured we had our food out in time. Will definitely be back.
We had the $55 set course and did not find it value for money. Saying this we would probably come back and try the menu.
We had a fantastic evening, the food was fantastic, the ambience great, service really good too..
It was such a delightful night ... Thankyou
Great food excellent service staff know their stuff we will be back
We could not faul;t the service , food and value for money...we had a great experience...staff were fantastic!!!!
Fantastic place first time to the place and will go back and tell my friends to do so also, a bit surprised that it was pay by card only as they are still some people who like to pay with cash, the staff where friendly and service was good, we only had two starters each but both where tasty and we then went upstairs to the wonderful show that was amazing, laughed our heads off and such talent and the venue was great to watch from, thankfully non of us where asked to get up on stage and the performance was wonderful at the end of the show we went upstairs to the roof bar and enjoyed a couple more drinks and met some of the performers from the show soho came up, luckily for us my son does the lighting for the show so we where a bit spoiled on the night and lastly we ended up coffee outside on the street watching people passing by a great night from bottom to top and then back down again will hopefully be coming to this place when the Fringe Festival is on
Brilliant menu, some very imaginative dishes in there! Friendly staff, prompt attention and service, quality of food was outstanding-dumplings, the pork skewers, the stir-fried greens - absolutely delicious! Definitely return and highly recommend.
What a perfect night to try out the food at Double Rainbow. Pride parade outside with an amazing view from the restaurant, the best waiter ever and delicious food sent from heaven. We loved the choices, the presentation, the atmosphere in the bar and then again in the restaurant. Everything was busy and fun loving, people coming and going, in the main, most were in good spirits. Disappointed that by 8pm there was no soft shell crab available and no chicken pot stickers but by some miracle, the pot stickers appeared after we had been told they had sold out. Nice surprise for us and thoroughly enjoyable.
Since visiting, we have recommended Double Rainbow to so many people, we have talked to those who knew nothing of it's existence and to those who have already eaten there. We will be returning to this wonderful place to try out more of the exceptionally tasty goodies on offer.
Loved it and highly recommend.
The satay eggplant skewers were a flavour sensation! The Saigon Summer beer also went down a treat!
The recommendation to have the pig's ear salad was received with some hesitation but we were so happy we chose it - it was absolutely delicious. We were disappointed that there was no banana flower salad available but we will just have to have that next time!!
Absolutely delicious food and the service was outstanding - the young waitress from Brazil was amazing.
Double Rainbow you’ve done well with your choosing of staff. I will definitely recommend!!
Initial impressions were good. We were seated at a long table next to a family and drink orders were taken. From there however, the service deteriorated markedly. Whilst we received our first dish quite promptly the remaining dishes took an age to come. Our empty glasses were not attended to, and we had to call for service as well as water which was forgotten. The remaining dishes were perfunctory served without apology with 1 dish being forgotten altogether. The family next to us had to wait for an inordinate amount of time for the correct dessert for their young daughter (the waitress ordered the wrong dessert) and were just about to leave in frustration when it finally arrived. The impression we were left with on the night is that where was absolutely no care factor from anyone. We couldn’t get anyone to clear our table, or provide the bill, so we were left standing around and there seemed little regard by the staff of our poor experience. The decor of the building was an opportunity lost as for such an historical place it could have been presented in a much more thoughtful way. We won’t be returning, there are too many good placed in Perth who offer a much better customer experience these days.
This was for brunch and it was very quiet in the bar. I'm going again in the evening to try the full experience!
Amazing food although we didn’t get everything we ordered delivered to the table. Luckily we had eaten plenty! A little bit loud but cool vibe! Highly recommend for vegans.
The atmosphere and food was amazing, the staff did everything they could to make our night as good as it could be.
As with many popular restaurants (especially when they first open) there were some delays on our booking due to the group ahead of us taking longer than anticipated, our group bring large probably didn't help with flexibility. The staff were excellent however and the waiting/bar area was perfect to while away the time.
Great food, ambience and value - A great addition to the Perth dining scene
Service is slow for drinks & waiting staff appears to be confused as the ordering process & food delivery is more complicated than it needs to be.
Saturday night was probably not the best night to test this new eatery, but then again if they can't handle the heat...? Noise wise it was like dining in a night club with the Doof Doof from upstairs vibrating through the place. Besides being offered two wrong orders and a wait of half an hour, those that did arrive were disapointing. Delicate Prawn Dumplings were overpowered by their accompanying extras. Spring Rolls had a perfect crunch, but lacked a decent filling and weren't anywhere near hot. Chicken Wings lacked the kick as described in a recent review, except for a strong vinegar taste. They were also slightly pink towards the bone, so definately did not fall off the bone nor showed any sign of melt in your mouth tenderness. The Soft Shell Crab appeared to be the legs only and left an oily taste on the palate. We had intended to add a couple of mains plus desert to our night out in Northbridge, but after so much disapointment, paid up and left the premises. As an aside, the staff were absolutely amazing from the time we arrived. They did however fail to ask if we had enjoyed our 'dining' experience.
We visited Double Rainbow Bar & Eating House fairly early on a Friday night as we had tickets to Boom Boom Blah Blah upstairs afterwards. When booking I had selected a standard table as I was dining with my Mum and that's what she prefers. Upon arriving and being shown to the bar we were quickly moved to the end of a long table with chairs with backs, being advised we would need to leave the table by 7.30, which of course wasn't an issue as we had the show to attend. From there we started ordering food - staff were overly helpful with suggestions (I wanted to avoid fresh coriander), going through the menu with us but others didn't know a lot about the wine list. We had edamame, eggplant satay, softshell crab, marrow bone and clams (too salty). We considered ordering more but were glad we didn't as this was the perfect amount. The sparkling water kept coming which I always appreciate and although we were originally brought a glass of wine when we ordered a bottle this was quickly rectified. We were allowed to take our glasses upstairs to the show and what a show! Highly recommend combining dinner with a night at Casa Blah Blah! The whole venue is amazing from top to bottom - after the show we went to the rooftop bar. All in all a great night!
I had tickets to see a show at the Rechabite Hall BOOM BOOM in the house of BLAH BLAH. It was a great show and awesome cocktails served in the upstairs bar. Me and my friends all went down to the restaurant straight after the show and were seated for a table of 7 at one of the back round tables with the lazy suzan. We ordered more drinks with the nice bar staff which came out super fast. Then we all went for the "Feed me a little" option and left the menu decision up to the chefs. My partner is a vegetarian so I had to also go for the vego feed me option but my god I was blown away by how good all the dishes that came out to us were. I walked away happy and fed even though I didn't eat any meat. Every plate that came out was awesome. I would 100% come back here just for the cool vibes great to see the life brought back to such an old Perth building. If they can keep this quality pumping out this venue will be around for a long time.
