dp An American Brasserie
Terrible. This place needs to close.
Love going to the Brasserie. One of our favorite places to go
Food was excellent, as always. The service was pretty slow and even when we told them we had a show to get to, the server was still very slow and absent-minded.
DP's accepted my reservation. I arrived, with a very important guest.
The Place was closed.
So I had to make profound apologies.
I took him to Jack's instead and we were made, as always, very welcome.
I love DP's, but why did you accept my reservation, if you knew you would be closed????
On Saturday 11/9 had both the fish special and the beef bourginon. Fish was excellent but the beef was tasteless.
Noise level was out of control. We were seated at a small table and still could not hear each other speak.
Do not got here in hope or hunger.
Personable waitress, but all drinks and food were ultimately a let down.
Food was fine, but not delicious. Likely stick to burgers and fries.
One cab franc was served the color of robitussin. I actually ordered a vouvray white wine and received a viognier without understanding the distinction. My Prosecco was flat.
The salads had a lot of wilt to them.
Teas were painfully weak, an earl grey looking the color of a green tea. If you had added any cream, it would have been laughable.
I think serving many of the wines was questionable as they tasted as though they had been opened for some time, and especially considering one wine served was bright liking cranberry juice.
We ended up spending over an hour there, with a very empty dining room and it could have taken 45 with no issue.
We had an excellent meal, in good company, with good service. Especially appreciated assistant chef (?) suggestion of dessert not on the menu. Grand marnier cake, yum!
Outstanding food. Great service prior to concert.
Amazing! Come visit!
This is a favorite spot for lunch. Food is excellent. Service is prompt and efficient.
Not great. Took forever to get our drinks then they said they were out of martini glasses. They are a bar how is that possible. Food order took forever with app coming out at same time as meals. Meals loaded with Garlic and wife’s lobster salad could not be more plain. The place is also super loud which makes talking with your dinner guests almost impossible.
This was a first for me and I couldn’t have been more impressed. DP was an appropriate restaurant for the occasion and the staff, service and food made our experience an evening to remember. We will be going again.
Salmon was very good but fish and chips tasted of old oil. They advertise happy hour specials on website but you have to know that to ask for the menu. Oysters were tasty but tiny.
Consistently amazing ambiance, clientele, food and libations. Hands down our fave place to go with friends, on a date and when we know we want to try something new or enjoy our favorites from the menu. The service is beyond excellent, always. Highly recommend!
Excellent food. A little noisy.
I'm a fan of Old Bay seasoning, but the amount used totally overpowered the lobster in the lobster roll and when served, instead of the old bay chips, fries were bought, then they took the fries away while frying the chips, which showed up as I was well into the lobster roll.
Which is why I took off a star, and didn't stay for a cheese plate at the end
Our waiter, Josh, was very accommodating, knowledgeable about the menu, filled water glasses immediately, and was extremely personable. The food was perfect. Salmon just the way I love it, and my husband's Pasta Ryleigh was excellent. I would go back any time.
Excellent venue for drinks, or inventive pre- or post-theatre fare. Attentive waiter service and knowledgeable sommeliers service as well. Perfect for a date.
Always our go- to place tor special occasions. Food always awesome. Service excellent. Ambience second to none in Albany if you haven’t been there, you’re missing out. .
dP and it's fine dining companionm Yono's are superlative examples of what a dining experience should be.
The food was incredible! I personally am not comfortable with the shared bench seating.. and the little tables were too close together for my comfort, I felt like I was sharing my date with strangers. However staff were great and the location was great, we just left a show at Capital Rep. Will absolutely come again.
Never fails to prove what makes DP the best in the area. From the menu to the service, top-notch.
Excell my in all respects! Great evening!
Super packed when we got there due to a concert at TU Center. Managed to score to seats at the bar while we waited for our table. The drinks were amazing! We got our table and the waiters were very knowledgeable.
Nice atmosphere. Great service by our waiter Josh. The food was well prepared and good portion without over doing it. They even wrote "Happy Anniversary" on our dessert plate without me asking....nice touch dp! My wife and I loved it. We will be back.
My husband and I had been here before with good result, but this time our server was less than adequate. It took almost 15 min to receive our ordered drinks. When I asked if I could substitute for mashed potatoes I received a vague reply which ended with "vegetable", but nothing forthcoming as to what these were. The appetizer was never received before our meal and when pointed out we received a weak "shall we bring it now?" (we declined). Our server was either inexperienced or just bad. I will say that I very much enjoyed my venison. It was cooked to perfection.
Delighted with the customer focus and knowledge of our server and the bartender/mixologist. Menu offered a good selection of flavors/influence, seasonality, portion sizes and price-points making it a good choice for just about anyone. The ambiance is nice lacks distinction. Still, we were very happy with our meal and experience!
One of the best meals we have ever had! Our waitress Katie made fantastic suggestions. We tried the Strawberry Rhubarb cocktail of the day - it was yummy.
Great service, good ambiance, very good food. Menu not very creative.
We love dp An American Brasserie. The location is convenient to The Rep. The food is always outstanding. And they accommodate seating requests. They also accommodate food issues because everything is made to order. We'll be back.
We love DP's. We had the steak salad and the seasonal soft shell crab. Both of us loved our meals. great service, atmosphere. It can get loud in the restaurant but it was a quiet start of long weekend night. We'll be back.
Nice lunch date with my wife. Great service from Alice. Nice lady and treated us great.
Took 35 minutes for a server to come even poor our water. The sliders were just o.k. Overall a decent meal.
We really enjoyed the dp American Brasserie. We were immediately welcomed and seated. Our waiter Josh was friendly and efficient, and had the sommelier come over to help select a wine with our meal. We liked our meals very much, they were flavorful and just the right size portions. Great drink menu also.
Excellent food and service as always. Bartenders know how to make real drinks.
This is listed in OpenTable as a French restaurant and it is not. This was my first time at the restaurant and it was a busy Saturday night for them.
The place was crowded and the noise level was high. I needed to raise my voice for the person across the table to hear me. I ordered my steak medium, and if what arrived was medium, then rare must be close to raw. Lovely windows out the front of the restaurant, but your view is a parking lot. Parking nearby is almost non-existent, and if an event is happening downtown, be prepared to spend $10 to park. A nice wine selection, but again, only a few French wines to choose from. It's attached to the Hampton Inn hotel and shares a common entrance to Yono's.
This is a lively restaurant with a relatively small seating area. It is not quiet, but that is not a problem. The menu is not large, but it is interesting and the food is delicious. Highly recommended!
Visiting this restaurant since its inception and watching it gradually become less and less of what it was. The food varies from interesting to bland and the prices stay higher than are warranted.
Excellent food and service in a casual setting. Very good wine list as well.
