Drew's on Halsted
We had eaten there about 6 months ago and had a much more enjoyable experience then. This time food was OK, nothing special, but not overpriced either. Service was definitely lacking. I would even say verged on the "unfriendly--let's get this over" feeling. What was intended to be a nice evening out simply felt like a bit more than a fast food experience.
Menu could use some expansion but the service was nice.
Great food at reasonable prices. Will definitely go back
This is a neighbor hood gem. Great food, great old school martini's, reasonably prices, white table cloth but a little too loud. I can't imagine what it must be like when the pianist starts playing. I wish the server would have been a little more attentive, we almost missed our 7:30 curtain. We arrived slightly late (6:10) due to traffic. Er were finished with our meal at 7:10, so it wasn't due to any back up in the kitchen. If it were not for these two issues, it would be a solid 5 stars.
We always look forward to DREW'S and like to introduce to others.
Can be TOO LOUD, however, due to all the hard surfaces. Could use fabric accents here & there.
Ivory colored table cloths would enhance and compliment the space.
Back of dining room cold and drafty during cold weather.
Turkey burger offered would be nice! Love the VEGGIE burger...B.T.W.
Menu offers something for everyone.
Cabaret on Halsted lives!!! Fab music and delicious food plus they know how to make a cocktail.
Disappointing. Appetizer undercooked, entree one overcooked and one undercooked. Service disappointing! Went last Thanksgiving and it was very good. Not so much this year. Must reconsider next year,
Beautiful ambiance. It was a Thanksgiving pre fix menu which was too much for me. I had lobster bisque soup which was the best I ever had. I also had the turkey dinner which was good. We took our pie home but I wish they didn't put the ice cream on it. It was a melted mess but still tasty. There was some confusion with Open Table. I received an email from open table that we were a no show but Drews is supposedly working on it.
Fantastic thanksgiving dinner, lovely staff, adorable place.
We love this place! We keep coming back.
Fantastic service; food and drinks were phenomenal!!! Thank you Drew!
Somewhat expensive but good food. They have added entertainment on the weekends.
The food... well, it was not good. The butter on the table tasted rancid, the potatoes were beyond salty, the eggs were cooked in way too much butter and towards the end of our meal, a bug flew into my almost finished mimosa and just hung out there. I won’t be back.
It was hands down our best meal in the area! I want to be back there right now!
The space, the food, the service was fantastic. We were there for a caberet performance with the wonderful Honey West so the noise level was higher during the show.....but not do high you could not have a conversation.
The owner is on site which is always a big plus.
Drew's is a special occasion, location. It's perfect for a get-together with friends and if you enjoy live music. Perfectly situated on the corner of Halsted and Belmont, you get great views to people watch. The food and drinks are exceptional.
The entertainment was fantastic. The food and service was great.
Food and cocktails are excellent. Tuesday is open mic night, first time I’ve been to that. It was so much fun.
The staff was wonderful!! The ambiance was welcoming and comfortable! The food was delicious. The menu had a lot of options for all types of eating experiences! The only issue I had was that even after I had confirmed my reservation when I arrived they said I had cancelled it. While they were very accommodating I found it frustrating!
Made a reservation and was seated within a reasonable amount of time. Though there were loud talkers near our table. Management attempted to address it. I think what upset me most is, during break, I was speaking with another couple who engaged me in conversation. I was rudely interrupted by management so he could address the couple to offer an index card for their email address. As soon as we started conversing another woman interrupted to ask how their evening was w no acknowledgement of my standing there. Let’s not forget to mention, our table was not asked how we were enjoying ourselves, nor were we offered an index card to complete w an email address. Just because my date and I were of different ages and race, our money was just as green as any one elses. We both enjoyed the show, the hostess was sweet.
Overpriced mediocre food. Seating by windows is drafty. Entertainment was fair.
Good food and service. Excellent cabaret show featuring a salute to Frank Sinatra’s songbook.
Great spot. Lively but not loud.
Drew’s is a great value and lively spot. The entertainment is a big plus. The show on Sat Oct 26 was super. You might consider coaching servers to be more attentive to potential drink requests during the show periods.
Very good service and very good food. Server was always checking on our table and bringing refills. The restaurant was very nicely decorated and quiet. The food came out fast, was hot, and delicious. We loved it. We would definitely come back again.
Drew’s is a solid 4 star establishment! Good food, great service and a terrific value. Recommended!
Loved it! More calamari and it was awesome as usual and the tenderloin tips are very tasty. The ahi tuna app was good as well, especially at happy hour prices!
We didn’t know there would be live music. This was unfortunate for us, but I’m sure many other people went for the entertainment and enjoyed it.
Great choice for pre-show dining for the Briar Theater which only a half block away.
The food was amazing! I have been here a few times before but this time it was extraordinary! The calamari was so tasty I finished most of it myself! The sauce had the perfect amount of spicy flavor! My daughter’s filet was large and the sauce amazing! The creme brûlée was as good as I’ve ever tasted! Service was impeccable! Everything about the meal was perfect! I loved that they served real butter with the bread without even being asked! (So many places won’t give you real butter these days!) Perfect dinner and reasonably priced!!! Can’t wait to go back!
We’re from out of town so we had no idea where to go. We were pleasantly surprised for what we thought would just be a neighborhood spot. The food was very and the service was great. If in Chicago in that area I would definitely recommend it.
!! AMAZING !! on all levels. Spectacular food!! A feast for the senses. Ambiance: 10! Service: 10! A must go to!
Everything was delicious and well prepared. The service was very friendly and it has the good feeling of a wonderful neighborhood restaurant.
First time at Drew’s. Definitely going to return. Good food good service and good atmosphere!!
Monday nights 15% food cost discount for neighbors!! Excellent food and service as always.... excellent appetizers include baby back ribs, shrimp cocktail and duck confit risotto are ample with a salad for dinner. Staff always excellent.
It was truly ridiculous to have the entire staff hanging out by the bar, with not one monitoring the dining room for customer needs, and even ignoring our glances. Finally, we brought our empty coffee cups to clutch of staff gigglers, to tell them what we wanted. Someone else had to do the same thing to ask for their check.
Mark Farris cabaret fabulous full of song and laughs. Food good, service excellent.
Especially since the live Cabaret began.
Well worth the walk or drive.
Complimentary parking available.
We love the veggie burgers and more.
Friendly, attentive staff.
We look forward to our next visit.
Open mic evenings are always entertaining!
David & Johnny
Food was mediocre and service was slow.
