Enjoyed the ambience and our server was excellent!! Ordered rib eye which was flavorful but disappointingly chewy and my husband’s rack of lamb was good but potatoes were undercooked. Guest in next booth, Tony, used his outdoor voice and was very loud, thats why we know his name and much more about him, his opinions and vacation plans.
I love their menu and sound track although it could be turned down a bit.
Sadly, we have been here before a few years back but it’s gone downhill big time! The food was very mediocre; the service was terrible. We hadn’t even finished our appetizers and they brought the main course and dumped it on our table. When we complained the manager responded with some stupid comments that made no sense. He did comp us the appetizers which helped but still did not make up for the overall disappointing experience.
When we ordered the second bottle of wine they brought us a later year but did not inform us of that. It felt fishy since that surely would have been a different price.
And at 9.30pm on a Saturday night they had run out of the Creme Brûlée- really !!!!
Overall a very negative experience - sad - we used to like it here!
Excellent greeting! Excellent service! Excellent food!
The food was horrible. My husband isn't a picky eater and always very tolerant. He ordered the BBQ combo. After the meal, he said the dinner was disgusting. I tried some of the pork. It tasted awful. For that price point, the food quality is totally unacceptable. Will never go back.
Food and drink very enjoyable. We found our meals to be very tasty. Making this overall an okay experience, stems mostly from service. We told our waiter that we would be splitting our salad. Salad was delivered to the table on a single plate with not even the offer to provide a plate so we could split ourselves. I honestly can say I have never been to a higher-end restaurant who didn’t split in the kitchen or at a minimum provide an extra plate. Our before dinner cocktails arrived a good 5 minutes after our meal, making ordering a glass of red wine to have with our beef dishes not feasible.
Lastly, after several attempts at getting someone’s attention and tiring of waiting for our server to walk by, we got up and grabbed some water ourselves to refill our empty water glasses.
Not in a huge hurry to return.
Great food, great service, great ambience! What more could you ask for👍
We’ve been to Dry Creek Grill many times and the food and service have been outstanding. Last night was disappointing to say the least. The server hardly checked on us the entire time. He came to the table once to refill our water glasses The food was not up to par. It was under seasoned and served warm not hot. The French Onion soup, which is usually outstanding, was not very good. The cheese on the soup was barely melted. I don’t know whether they have new kitchen staff, but if they do, the management needs to spend some time training the kitchen staff.
When dinner was over, we decided not to order dessert as the Creme Brûlée was $14.00 and we couldn’t be sure it would be good, so we went somewhere else for dessert. I don’t mind spending money on a great dining experience, however this was wasted money.
Food was really good. Service was very friendly, but pretty slow.
Overall experience was great . Loved the atmosphere , good food , good music, good vibe . Service was great. Definitely going back.
This is our first time at DCG and we really enjoyed our dinner. The drinks were delicious!
This place has the best meatloaf we have ever tried! Hands down the best!!!
Everyone had great customer service and were very attentive.
Can’t wait to come here again!
Wonderful birthday dinner. Delicious food. Awesome server.
Went for anniversary and received complimentary champagne after we sat down. Very nice touch. Overall the food was very good and doting service.
Normally we find a quiet corner but very loud last night, both a few of the other booths and the overhead music. Drinks were underwhelming, and it appears insufficient staff made service a little slow.
Lets see, key points for bad review. After we finally got our drinks to come to the table, the Manhattan was not made well. Less than tasty. Maybe it was the vermouth.
Service was lacking and we felt forgotten. Apps came out before our drinks.
Table service: Dirty plates and drinks were left on the table most of the night.
Actually our original empty drink glasses were left on the table. The waiter did not seem to think she should clear them when the busboy was busy and couldn't do it.
Because we had the old used dishes on the table, the entrees had to be served off to the side because of lack of space. Yet the food delivery people just seemed to drop off the food and run. Almost dropping the dishes on the table and rushing off.
Salmon entree was good, two people had it and liked it quite a bit.
BBQ, combination platter was ok. Surprised the pork portion was just pork cut off the rib bones. Instead of pulled pork or the like. A bit disappointing. Short rib did not go over well.
The calamari and deviled eggs were good. Although the coleslaw was a waste and might not have been on the dish. I understand it was there for the ambiance, but seemed overkill and not eatable with all the grease from the seafood on it. Plus it was over mixed. Should have been dry or lightly dressed.
Desert was ok. Surprised only one option for a birthday. Maybe it was suppose to be a special desert. Yet it was presented as this is what you get for having a birthday. No other options. Yes I know it was free, we were going to have more deserts at the table. Yet the server came back and said they were out of Cream Brulee.
Also, not sure why there were two different corkage fees. We would have bought some additional wine, but weren't sure of the offerings or if we bought a bottle a corkage might have been waved.
Oh, the exit door by the stage kept slamming all dinner long. Not just a closed door sound but a slam.
Our first time and loved it! Great ambiance and fun environment.
We sat in the back and it was very noisy. Difficult to hear each other. We were a party of 4 in a booth
Have not been there in 3 or 4 years - Dry Creek used to be our regular night-out for dinner before we moved. Although the staff has changed, the restaurant is still the same - great food and excellent service. One of our favorite features was the separation of the bar, open area with TV’s, and the more private booth areas on the side - gives you a choice on the experience you are looking for.
We started with Cesar salad and the corn bread. Loved the honey butter with the corn bread.
I had veggie risotto. The best I’ve ever had! My husband had the scallops. He thought they were a little over seasoned but cooked perfectly. Easy fix…just ask for less seasoning.
Our server Lili was fabulous. With such good good coupled with a really good server, our evening was perfect!!
GREAT SERVICE! From the minute we walked in the door till we left, every employee acknowledged us with service or a greeting! even the Manager was kind enough to take a picture for us of all 4 of us! This was our first time ever at San Jose Dry Creek Grill ! Perfect example of Costumer Service!
great place for drinks - especially the craft cocktails - and dinner
So glad to see DCG did not lose their quality of food or mojo during covid.
We celebrated our anniversary there last evening and the food, service, and
ambiance were all as we remembered from a few years ago.
Unlike other so called *higher end* restaurants that we ate at during the summer,
DCG did not lose a step! We will definitely be back.
Grandpa treated us to dinner and everything was superb!
Good food but it felt overpriced. Nice cocktails which were my favorite part of the meal. Service was very attentive.
We been coming here for years but tonight was different. The food was just ok. Normally it's great. Even the dessert wasn't that great. Maybe a new chef or blame it on Covid. I hope they get it back.
Service was great as always.
We love your drinks.
As usual Dry Creek Grill did an outstanding job. The food and service were outstanding. The noise level is always a problem. Other than that, we had a great evening and would return.
Had nice table by firepit. Food was very good and service was prompt
The food flavors in our entrees were good, however, it was overshadowed by the slow service, lack luster cocktail and wine menu, and way too high of a price point for portions received.
Great meal as always and ambiance is on point! Glad I made reservations as it got extremely busy!!
Outside dining for us on the occasion of my birthday. I really liked our table between the wall and the fire pit. My steak was perfectly cooked to order and tender and my guests clearly enjoyed their meals. While I understand the need to recover some pandemic losses I felt the prices were exceptionally high.
Is nice and perfect is good night for us
Great food and atmosphere, a tad noisy due to an "energetic" group next to us.
Service before Covid was just ok and service after was just ok too. Such a bummer because the food and ambience are wonderful. When the server is at your table, it's great. But, trying to get assistance for drinks after being seated and continued monitoring during dinner is seriously lacking. I even had to go to the bar to get someone to ask us if we wanted drinks before placing our dinner order. Attention improved right before dropping off the bill though...
Great cocktails and food with a fun ambiance
Loved everything, but way too noisy, music too loud, had to shout the be heard.
Awesome! Great food and environment. New favorite restaurant!
The menu was reduced drastically food choices were poor. Drinks from the bar were mostly watered down. We used to eat here a lot and we were very surprised This place has slipped.
This place has gotten worse after COVID, menu is not great and the food is average. Wouldn’t recommend going anymore unfortunately.
