Duck Inn was delicious and the service was great. It is a great date place but also nice place to have dinner with friends. A lot of the food portions are perfect to split. The drinks are amazing and as mentioned before- the service is great.
What a find!! Loved everything about it! Even if you aren’t a duck lover you will love the Duck Inn!
Love this place, amazing food and friendly people. I can’t say enough great things about our visits here. They add to the menu and keep staple great plates and the drinks are phenomenal! Please visit Duck Inn , it’s tucked away in a quaint little section of Chicago and you won’t be disappointed!
Went before a show at Thalia Hall. Phenomenal food. Sat at table that was also a still functional game of asteroids. Everything we had from the cheese curds, to carrots and kale, to lamb ribs was phenomenal. Would go back in a heartbeat.
I usually love this restaurant but we had a slightly disappointing meal this week. The brussels sprouts seemed burned and the pasta dish had too much sauce and seemed thick and lumpy. We did the happy hour which was great and the service was excellent. Will go again but I doubt my first time friends will go back.
We went for industry night and they are very generous to fellow service members!
The staff was super friendly, our server was Richard!
The food was great, we had the burrata, salmon, chicken, duck wings, duck dog, and brussel sprouts. Not a single complaint. The only thing I wasn't huge on was the "are you serious Clark". I felt It could have been a little bit sweeter.
The place looks fantastic and the food is creative and delicious. We had the whole duck and I highly recommend it.
A very hip place to catch a cool cocktail, hear some smooth tunes and have a great date. Our waitress was the bomb..so witty and knew her stuff. Order the duck (duh!) but if you don't dig duck, there's something for everyone. We're going back when the weather allows us to sit outside, as the patio looks very lovely.
This is the 2nd time visiting this restaurant. In my last review, I indicated the cocktails were excellent, this time around... not so much. The bloody mary, was a bit on the sweet side, almost like a pasta sauce with alcohol. The shrimp and grits was very good, but the chicken crackling was sooo not needed,
I gave service four stars, though the server was quite good. My only complaint was that he came so often to ask if everything was good that it became intrusive. Otherwise, as always, a great place.
This is an outstanding restaurant! It’s very cozy which is perfect for a date night or intimate occasions. The food is delicious and uniquely crafted. Many online reviews raves over the hot dog and it did not disappoint! The wait staff is so friendly and engaging which exceeded our expectations!
Absolutely delicious food and inventive cocktails. Service was lovely - everyone was attentive, had a sense of humor, and were very knowledgeable about the restaurant's offerings. It was very loud near the bar, which is the only reason why I didn't rate it 5 stars. If you're not someone who's bothered by noise it's a great option in general. But I would think twice about going there for a dinner with your folks (or something like that).
We’ve visited often, and we love Duck Inn. We were there for Sunday night dinner and it was packed. I’d just say the noise level was really high, making it quite difficult to have a conversation. Our three twenty-something’s felt the same way. Maybe lower the volume of the music just a tiny bit?
Also, and I realize this probably isn’t going to happen, but it would be lovely to have a little bread with dinner.
Thank you and we’ll be back!
Amazing drinks, the best cheese curds and of course, the best duck. Everything we had was amazing
Amazing Valentine’s Day dinner option! Romantic ambiance, fabulous food, and amazing service. Can’t wait to go back!
SO GOOD! The lamb ribs fell off the bone. Like cleanest bone I’ve seen. The pappardelle with mushrooms was so good. I went them both everyday for dinner.
We did the Tasting Menu for Restaurant Week, everything was delicious!
My party of 4 enjoyed the fabulous duck dinner, which we had preordered a few days before our visit. Our waitress Ashley was wonderful at making suggestions to complement the duck. Standouts were the Brussel sprouts and the bok choy with carrots. Ashley’s efficiency, along with Kevin Hickey’s kitchen magic, made this a memorable dining experience. We shall return...
The food here is always great. I love bringing my friends for all of the creative and flavorful dishes and cocktails.
The best meal I’ve had in a long time! The duck wings, Brussels sprouts and short ribs were all excellent and perfectly cooked. You could pick any of their cocktails and not go wrong.
Hands down, best restaurant in Chicago. Not only is the food amazing but it feels like you’re at home
I love Duck Inn and was pleased with the Restaurant Week menu.
Good food, good service, and friendly staff!
You know it’s a great experience when you are planning your return visit soon after the appetizers arrive. All of us want to go back, and all of us have a list of people we want to go back with. Duck inn is one of a kind.
Classic Chicago neighborhood restaurant. You will want to return.
Amazing . Wonderful... Incredible
We came here for restaurant week and it ended up being a big mistake. The cocktails were tasty, the service was impeccable, but the majority of our food came from the Prix fixed menu and it was no bueno. I mean, most of it was edible, but we couldn't even finish the small first course of the vegetable terrine. We knew the portions were going to be on the small side, so we decided to order two appetizers off the main menu - the duck wings and the cheese curds. The duck wings were the highlight of our night; the rest of our food, not so much. The vegetable terrine had no flavor and was lacking everything. The Lobster Shoyu dish was super salty and a one-bite dish. The tagliatelle was tasty, but not worth the price tag. The chocolate dessert thing was by far the best part of our fixed menu.
After spending over 100 dollars per person, best to steer clear from this place during restaurant week.
We have had duck at Duck Inn many times, and brunch. Always terrific. This time we went for the restaurant week menu, which was different from their usual fare and very imaginative. And 100% delicious. Vegetable terrine had great flavor. Beef tartare was wonderful — the grid and seasoning of the beef and the pickling of the egg yoke made it the best tartare I’ve ever had. And the parsnip tagliatelle was superb. Really a great meal.
Birthday dinner. Absolutely fabulous, fantastic food and excellent service. Overwhelming character of place and service. A top one!
Overall great ambience. I was disappointed that I wasn’t able to partake in the restaurant menu, because my date didn’t want to eat from that menu. Forcing me to eat a couple of appetizers so not to make my date uncomfortable since it was his birthday.
It was restaurant week, so this is NOT a review of their normal menu. The restaurant week menu was not great. It was somewhat creative, but the portions were extra small and even at the reduced $48 restaurant week price, not worth it... one of the worst restaurant weeks we’ve been to. The service was fantastic. But the ambiance was really weird... it was like the restaurant couldn’t decide if they want to be fine dining or a neighborhood pub. It’s obvious the place used to be a corner neighborhood bar... so they kept a lot of that feel, but then they have fine dining prices and service. The bathrooms didn’t get a makeover and need it and there is just a weird feel to the restaurant... not quite neighborhood, not quite elevated dining... didn’t love it.
This place never disappoints. Went on a Friday night with a party of 6 --the place was loud and lively but in a good way. Lots of laughter which made it feel like a happy place. It was restaurant week and celebration of the Chinese NY so the menu was a bit different than we expected but everything we had was delicious and beautifully presented.
First time visit. Disappointing having heard so many accolades about the restaurant and chef Kevin Hickey. Because it was restaurant week and Chinese New year, there was a special (limited) menu and a different preparation for their famous rotisserie duck. The restaurant is very dark and very loud. You can't read the menu or have a conversation. The cheese curds were delicious. The duck was very moist with crisp skin but just didn't wow us. They serve it a little container with a "gravy" but it didn't add much flavor. Service is good.
Wonderful service and great experience for a 21st birthday. Very relaxed and warm while still feeling upscale. Delicious!
Amazing food, the Brussels sprouts were the best I’ve ever had!
Great food and ambiance! Will be back
The cocktails and food are always superb! Jarel (hoped I spelled it correctly) was solicitous in his service. We will be back soon. Thank you.
Casual ambiance and amazing food & service. We chose it specifically to treat a friend who was visiting from out of town. Nice to get to a different part of the city and dine at such a gem.
Wonderful as always!
We loved the Duck brunch dish as well as the well prepared collard greens. Service was fine.
