Great dining experience! We celebrated a birthday and they made sure everything is perfect for us. Service and food were great and they even brought us a birthday cake with a candle.
Our first time. The food was OK. Nothing great - just OK. I was hoping for more.
The restaurant is beautiful inside! Our waiter was a bit slow but otherwise very helpful. Two of us in the party ordered from the pre-fix $39.99 menu and got the 4oz tenderloin/salmon. However, both our dishes and meat were cold. I ordered the 2 sauces that came with it on the side and they were also cold. The manager came over and asked if we wanted another order but it was already 1 hour since we got there and didn't want to wait. I ended up not eating and just taking home but no compensation was given. Guess I would have thought 10% off or something.
Food was mediocre compared to price. Ordered a vintage bottle of wine and was
Presented with a later vintage. Had to wait 20minutes for the bottle we originally ordered to cool on ice before serving..
Salad was served without dressing. Ordered grilled chicken ..
Was told they were completely out of chicken..it was 6:00 pm dinner reservation.
Great food and great service.
We were sat near the bar and there was a crowd and it was LOUD at first. They left and it was fine. Food was delish
Great place for celebrating—attentive staff and great aged steaks—cooked to perfection.
It was just ok. My sons steak was so fatty and the dessert was really tasteless, not very impressed.
I took my wife for her 51st birthday and we had a great experience. The food, the atmosphere, the wait was all outstanding. Scott the waiter was great.
This was the third time we came here to eat. This time the food was good but there were some issues- the house salad ended up being a chopped salad and was not up to the usual standards we have come to expect from Eddie Merlot's. We also order Pellegrino water and the waitress brought out 4 tiny bottles and said they were out of the large bottles and five minutes later the table of 8 next to us got the larger bottles, not the small bottles as we had. This is our go to restaurant but tonight things were off a bit,
An anniversary celebration that couldn't have been better.
The tempered shrimp starter was unfortunate. I think a step was skipped as the coating didn’t adhere to the shrimp. It tasted good though. The dirty martinis were exceptional.
The tempura asparagus was phenomenal! Truffle fries are definitely winners. My filet del mar was discouraging, though with the meat slightly tough. The rest of the food was mediocre.
Since the service was outstanding, we will be giving the restaurant another chance.
Our first time dining here. Nice atmosphere with recorded jazz music playing. Both the sea bass and tuna were delicious! There is a nice selection of wine by the glass. Staff is young but they were well trained and professional. There are some specials on the menu (at this time - not sure if that’s a regular thing) that are very reasonable for this level of restaurant.
Food was really good. We loved our server Leo. She was amazing and very attentive. She brought everything we ask for quickly. Would definitely go back for another birthday or special occasion. A bit pricy for a regular date night.
Delicious dinner with outstanding service
Excellent mahi-mahi (for a steak-centered restaurant especially). I enjoyed the Prix Fixe menu, which is an excellent value. The Key Lime Pie was authentic and outstanding. Also really liked the featured chardonnay. Unfortunately the bar area is not a peaceful dining venue, and the high top gets uncomfortable, but that is all that was available for a single diner. As a widow, I wanted to celebrate my anniversary even if solo. I will be back perhaps with a friend and a table for two.
Lovely dinner at our favorite local steakhouse. Food and service were all outstanding and we don't give those five stars very often. We both had the summer three course menu selections and enjoyed all the selections. The blackened salmon was delicious. I ordered the Steak Diane cooked medium and it came out a bit overdone but still tasty. However our server took it back and it was perfect second time around. He explained the sauce over steak made it appear darker than it actually was. Either way, it cane out wonderful and I was able to enjoy some of my partner's salmon while it was redone. The salad and desserts were as expected although think we would have enjoyed then more had we taken them home for later. Cheers to another wonderful dinner!!
Rochelle is the best in customer service. We were there for my birthday. She staggered our food order in a nice and easy manner. We felt relaxed. Great atmosphere.
I cannot say enough about our server, Rochelle. She rocks!!
The Sea Bass is incredibly expensive, but really, really tasty!
The restaurant is often just a little too cold to fully enjoy the meal; we now always bring small jackets for indoor dining at Eddie Merlots.
Was able to get a last minute reservation and had a great experience. Great food and service.
Super dinner, great food and remarkable service! Rochelle was amazing - when I return I'll ask for her specifically! Exceeded my expectations thanks to team!
After ordering and after eating salad course now 30 minutes my wife was informed they were out of her entree
Course. So she ordered the filet dinner. It was good but when the bill came they charged her for the salad ($9.50) because it was not part of the filet dinner.
So rather than the previous order which included the salad@$39.50 they charged her $$53.00. Very poor decision on the restaurant part. I did complain and they took off salad charge.
Everything was great except our waiter had an attitude that was very unfriendly and a bit rude. We felt that since we are seniors we don’t have the biggest appetites so we share a meal…. We make up a bigger bill with alcoholic drinks! It was uncomfortable, to say the least! Of course when it came to present the bill he was friendly!
I'm writing the CEO a letter detailing our negative experience. Have done that 3 times in 40 years of world travel and dining at hundreds of high end restaurants. We were celebrating my wife's 70th bday last evening and fortunately she had a very good filet & sides. My NY Strip was overcooked, 1/3 inedible due to very hard fat and the thinnest NY Strip ever served. I have purchased far superior cuts of NY Strip from a grocery store or online than what was served for $45 at this supposed premier steak house.
The service was inferior, 15 minute wait until server showed up after we brought it to the attention of another server. Server was pleasant but a teenager should not be recommending wine or food selections when she doesn't know our palate or anything about us.
Their website stated a dress code that was appropriate for a high end restaurant however there was no enforcement since shorts/flip flops as well as blue jeans was common for both genders.
After telling our server about the poor quality steak a manager visited us quickly to apologize. He offered us a complimentary glass of champagne but we declined since we just finished a bottle of wine. I would have expected my steak to be removed from the bill but it wasn't. It might be their policy not to address such an issue in that manner but I believe it is an unwise business practice since we will never return to any Eddie Merlot's location.
The design and decorating of the main dining room was elegant and a big plus. However, with the underdressed patrons, poor service, poor food quality and disappointing management response the room appearance was overwhelmed.
In the event management desires to know our reservation number was 2109793158.
We have dined at all of the high end steak houses in the Wash DC metro area and have never had a bad experience until last night.
The food is always predictably delicious and the service is superb. In a time when many restaurants are struggling to find help and get their food out, Eddie’s has figured it all out.
Always delicious food with outstanding service
Took my wife here for our 1st visit. Ambiance was great. The food and drinks were good. The only disappointment was they did not have the charbroiled oysters!!
Food was ok. Nothing exceptional. Service was good, but also nothing exceptional. There for a birthday. No valet parking. Steaks overpriced for the quality. The people watching was great. Best part of the evening was a huge table of what appeared to be the cast of Jersey Shore right in the middle of the main dining roomThey were a site to behold and were definitely having a swell time.
Thought this would be a nice surprise for my husbands birthday, was I ever wrong! We were seated and seemed to be hurried thru - didn't bring bread to the table (had to ask) was not informed if there were any specials of the night. Food was not as I expeced - we will go to Morton's from now on. The server did ask if someone was having a birthday and then nothing else, seemed that he could care less.
Wrong choice on my part - will not be going back.
The food was excellent! This is my second time at this location. Every time has been excellent. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that wants to celebrate special occasions or anyone that wants great tasting food.
Fantastic Birthday dinner! Everyone was professional and courteous. The food was delish!! Thank you for a memorable evening!
Everything was great!
Service was friendly and warm. Our waiter Abdullah was helpful with suggestions and very personable. The negatives were the prices and the quality. The prices were in line with a high end steak house such as Capital Grille, The Prime Rib, or Eddie V. However the food did not meet the same standards. My bourbon steak was extremely over salted, thin, and just not of a high quality. This cannot compare to the same priced steak at Capital grille. The Mac and cheese and Brussel sprouts were very mediocre and lacked flavor. The pita that came out with the spinach and artichoke dish was completely dark brown and crispy. I was shocked that it was even served. I don’t write this review lightly and take no joy in slamming an establishment. I just don’t think that Eddie Merlot’s food matches it’s price point. Many items looked and tasted reheated. The onion straws that came with the bourbon steak tasted stale. They definitely were not fried close to the time they were served. I will not return because there are so many better places to get steak in the NoVA area.
Meg was our server. She was terrific!!
We had a very nice dinner and dinner experience on Father's Day. The restaurant was busy and overall service was a little slow, though for us the pace was fine given the occasion (everyone was content to relax, drink wine, and talk). I suspect some groups might have gotten restless given the pace. The food was very good, well prepared and well presented. Our table seemed to test a lot of areas in the kitchen, different steaks as well as seafood dishes. Everyone was quite satisfied with their respective dinners. We had a great time and would recommend Eddie Merlot's to anyone looking for a "fine dining" experience. They are definitely a cut above the norm in the Ashburn area.
Menu was limited than several previous visits, which was disappointing. They removed beef carpaccio and the bone-in filet.
Food was so good! Love how the manager comes around and talks to all the tables. It feels really personable!
Great decor beautiful set up. Food was great and menu was different in a good way. Great for family and date night. Service was awesome on all front.
Excellent food, great service, beautiful restaurant. A real gem in Northern Virginia. We travel over an hour from our home to eat here!
We were there to celebrate Father’s Day. It was our first time dining at the restaurant. We ordered calamari and it was pretty greasy. The foot overall was okay not something surprisingly.
