The food, the water, the live music, the service; it was all wonderful! We will be back!
Friendly staff but bad service. We waited a long time for our drinks, appetizers, entrees...the bill came pretty quickly, though.
It was okay, the grape leaves and the falafel were fantastic the entrees nothing special, we both got kabobs, meh.
Food was great and the place looks very nice and authentic. The menu has many options to chose from. Really like this place.
Great food, attentive service. River view is great, too bad weather did not allow us to sit outside
Nice place, good food and service. Live music was nice touch but a bit too loud for dinner conversation
The spicy potato appetizer was so delicious, I could have eaten just that. For entrees, my spouse chose the ribeye & I chose chicken skewers, but requested them prepared extra spicy. The steak was good, but the skewers were outstanding. Grilled to perfection, juicy and yes, very spicy, just the way I like it. The drinks were expensive for as small and watery as they were, but we will definitely go back. Our server was also really attentive and helpful.
This was our first time there. The food was amazing. We will be back!
This is a really good spot - different from the plethora of Italian places littering the Fox Valley. The food is approachable, delicious, fresh and the chance to dine along the river is great. Well worth a visit!
Lentil soup was very thin, super purée. No lentil to be seen, no lemon on the side. Chicken kabob was good but side of rice was very dry. No pita bread served. Salad was swimming in dressing and really sweet. Dessert was cheesecake or baklava. Live music of cello player was excellent. And very entertaining. We live in an area with a large Concentration of people from the Middle East and this was a disappointment. It was not what we are used to at all.
Great food. Cool setting, right in the rivet. Beautiful chandeliers! I'll go back!
Food was excellent as usual but the service was slow. It was fairly empty when we arrived for our reservation but the service was still rather slow. With that exception, everything else was fantastic and our server was incredibly friendly. We will definitely be back!
The grill was broken so no entrees were available. Only certain appetizers were available. The soda machine was broken. We had a reservations and the hostess did not tell us of the kitchen problems till after we ordered drinks. Also, the restaurant said they called every party to make them aware of the problem but, we never received a call from the restaurant or from Open Table. I know both parties had my phone and email.
We settled on a few available appetizers. The hostess said she would take 15% off the bill. She did not follow up with the waiter and no consideration was on the bill. We were frustrated and decided let's just leave.
We should have known when we walked into an empty restaurant on a Saturday night. Not once while at the hostess station did she mention the kitchen problems.
We had visited the restaurant under the previous ownership and was extremely satisfied.
Of course we will give Eden on the River a second chance because the menu is very interesting and it has a great ambiance.
The band was good and was the only reason we stayed. Thank God the wine was available.
So, we will go back but an improvement in hospitality is badly needed. Strike One. Hopefully, a home run on the next visit because I cant wait to try the entrees.
Fox valley finally got the best restaurant and best food , must try it , worth the drive.
It was fine. The server was not very welcoming. The flatbread flavor was delicious, but not hot enough and soggy in the middle. Our meals were good although a bit pricey. My son's food took a long time to get to the table and it was taken off the bill, so that was nice. Would probably not run back here as there are other places I enjoyed more.
Live music and amazing food! Great ambiance and the pricing is modest for the generous portions. One of our favorite hot spots in St Charles.
Beautiful atmosphere with excellent friendly service and amazing food. Everything we ordered was delicious and perfectly seasoned. You can taste each and every spice. I highly recommend!
This was our second visit, with the first being absolutely wonderful. Weather was bad so it was not crowded, but service was terribly slow. We do like to dine in a European manner, slowly and enjoy conversation, but this was too slow. Took 20 minutes to get second appetizer, though it was a simply prepared one and ordered at the same time as our first. I love the way they prepare their rice, but tonight ours was very dry and not as well seasoned as previously. My husbands and my meals both seemed overly salty this time too. The ambiance is wonderful and the noise level is wonderful for conversation. The entertainment they have on weekends is fabulous and unique. First time we went we watched a Spanish guitar duet. This visit was a Spanish guitarist and flamenco dancers! Great entertainment. While we did not enjoy our meal and service this time, we will definitely be back again for a third experience and are hoping this one was an aberration.
Lovely place to have a cocktail and an appetizer sitting out on the deck overlooking the river. Had great service on a slow night. The dinners we ordered were so-so. Our chicken pita looked and tasted like a chicken burrito. Would not go back there for dinner.
Very nice atmosphere overall! I would suggest candles in the tables and bar. Food was really good as well- especially the appetizers! Two piece band that started at 8pm was excellent- my complaint would be that during the lengthy break they took, there was no other music playing. Totally killed the vibe and a few people left.
Carrie was a wonderful server! She met all of our requests with efficiency and a smile. We enjoyed our experience.
My wife and I visited your restaurant for the first time. The view and the ambiance were excellent. Could not have had a better waitress. The fish was very good and completely deboned at the table. I should have read the menu closer. The lamb sank came smothered with a tomato sauce which I did not like. Without the sauce, I am sure it would have been fine. Butter is not available. Need it for bread and the fish, in addition to the sauces you furnished. This should be an option. We will return.
We love the food here and the service is always great! Definitely recommend
First time but knew owner/chef from a previous restaurant. We loved it! Had the samplers in both appetizers and entree. We shared the entree but both got own salads. All delicious!
Service was great, attentive but not intrusive. Live music was great.
Can’t wait to go again!
Really enjoyed our experience at Eden on the River. The service was fantastic. Very attentive, despite how busy it was this particular night. They had live music starting about half way through our dinner. This really was a bonus as we did not know. The artist playing were very talented .
I really am surprised I had not heard of this place sooner!
A very warm and friendly evening
Appreciate Omar coming over to visit us with our guests.
Our party of 5 started with the sampler platter and loved the baba ganoush and hummus. Shrimp kabobs were fabulous (though cold - had to be rewarmed), beef shawarma was really tasty. One disappointment was that a signature dish was sold out by 7 pm on a Saturday - seemed like poor planning . Will go back and try again.
Wine selections by the glass are limited, not much variety and the per glass price was higher than what I expected. I chose an appetizer as an entree as it had been recommended to me. It was ok but I would not order it again. My friend ordered the salmon entree which he liked but I thought the salmon was dry. The rice which accompanied the fish was ok, nothing special. Service was slow. It took a good 10 minutes to get our beers and there were only 3 tables occupied in the restaurant. Our waiter, the bartender and another wait staff person stood at the bar and chatted for some time before the bartender finally poured our beers. We will visit again and hope for a better outcome.
Eating on the river is a great place to go to the restaurant itself was very nice the staff was unbelievable and the food was fabulous plus being on the river it was great
Always a wonderful experience. The food is amazing. The service excellent. Great drink and wine selection. We are not often in St Charles but when we are, this is our go-to.
It was just ok. Fixed menu for Valentine’s Day. The appetizers were best part of the meal. The hummus, ghanoush and mutabal were tasty. Main course was deconstructed kabobs ... shrimp, steak, chicken, salmon & ground beef. Plate came out at room temp ... so not hot. Meats were all over-cooked and dry. Flavors were good. Dessert was a semolina cheese concoction that had a weird texture and not very sweet. Our server was lovely. Food really just, well meh.
Went on Valentine’s Day, and while we weren’t aware there was a fixed menu, we were fine with it. Food was great, as was the service and ambience. The pre fixed menu price seemed a little high, but not unreasonable. We will be back to try other items and the regular menu.
What a wonderful find! First time here. Started off a little shaky when after arriving for our 7:30 reservations, we were told only high tops in the bar area were available but we had reserved in the dining room. Told there might be a wait as they had just gottten a rush. I thought the point of reservations were to reserve what we requested. The rest of the evening made up for the hostesses lack of prep! Food was wonderful! Hummus is our benchmark and it was excellent! I am gluten free and they had a vegetable option, thought my husband said the pita was good. I had the chicken kabobs and they were delicious. Was pleasantly surprised to find the basmati rice was prepared in a Turkish manner - cinnamon!! Not the sweet kind, but rather with heat and spice! A rare find, indeed. Service was good, though sometimes a bit spotty. We had to wait long intervals at times, but waitress was friendly and efficient. We really lucked out with the entertainment! Wonderfully talented couple playing flaminco, spanish and bossa nova!! Perfect volume too! Could enjoy the music but still have a conversation. Really got to grooving when the owner (?) sat in on drum. Can’t imagine a better way to spend a casual Saturday evening! And pleasantly surprised to find we didn’t break the bank! Check for the evening was no more than our usual spending, even though we stayed longer than usual and enjoyed an extra cocktail because we didn’t want to end the evevning. Can’t wait to go back again!
Excellent service and food! Entertainment was also good.
We loved it! Everything was amazing from start to finish, we can't wait to bring the rest of our Lebanese family here!
Aside from the fantastic food , Our waitress was really really good . There were eight of us each ordered something different and shared. Will be going back soon . Loved the view
Great food and a fantastic Latin Jazz Band! It was great to hear the owner playing with the band.
Great meal and entertainment
Our group enjoyed the dinner. Shish kabob was really good! Waiter was very average.
What a nice evening - great to see a very good Mediterranean option in this area. Definitely will return soon.
