Very delicious and we got to experience different menu special every time we come. Though we didn't get to eat wedge salad this time (which was always a bomb!!) we had the best halibut and chicken roast which so moist and oh-so-yummy! Always love to dine here. Service always extraordinary, some time the Chef will come and talk. Love!
Great for everything. Great food, great service, great ambiance, great location. We will definitely come back.
I’m not sure if they were understaffed. We finally asked the hostess who happened to be placing plates on the table next to us, if we could order a cocktail.
Our waiter passed our table several times w/o acknowledging us, finally came to ask us about champagne we ordered. We ordered Aguachile Verde Mixto. It was pretty to look at but, the shrimp was really raw/ crudo & scallops were not good.
We both ordered Harvest Gem salads. They were honestly both below subpar. Mehh… will not go back unfortunately.
My idea of excellent dining experience.
Great outdoor patio. Really enjoyed the ambiance.
Outdoor ambiance fabulous, innovative preparation of the sea bass entree, creme brûlée wonderfully carmelized topping
European style slow service
Cold entrees with unappealing presentation
So-so wine options
The menu is limited but interesting. We started with the bread with compound butter option. Butter was served frozen so could not be cut or spread. Odd. When server returned with slightly thawed butter the flavors were good. The cauliflower appetizer was unique and really delicious. I ordered the short rib entree. My husband ordered the Chicken Marsala. The short rib was fall-apart tender but, sadly, was so salty it was almost inedible and I could only eat a few bites. The roasted broccolini served with the short rib was similarly over-salted. A tiny little nub of corn on the cob was the only other accompaniment. Everyone's palate is different so I asked my husband to take a bite (without saying anything) and he immediately said that it was way too salty. Cost of short rib was around $38 so I was disappointed. Chicken Marsala was very good (and correctly seasoned) and came with mashed potatoes which were probably too rich and buttery for the dish (guessing the butter to potato ratio was 1:1) but, still, tasty! Cocktails were solid. Service was friendly and polite but somewhat inattentive. Overall: Good but needs improvement. There are some really good menu items and some not very good ones. The pandemic took a toll on all restaurants so I know that things are not perfect but for the cost, I expected that all food served would at least be enjoyable and/or edible. I did let the server know my short rib was too salty but there was no offer to accommodate or change my entree (or remove it from the bill). I mean – I get it (maybe no one else thinks it too salty) – but also – it was expensive and inedible.
Limited menu with not many choices. The burger was good but the fries that came with it were not as impressive. Not very crispy and bland, salt needed to be added. My husband got the short rib dish - the meat was tasty but the sides were not great for the price - 1/4 corn on the cob and some bland broccoli rabe. It needed a more hearty starch - like mashed potatoes or polenta.
The food was excellent, service was very friendly, ambiance outside was beautiful
Fun spot for a dinner down Los Gatos way!
The servers tried very hard to please us.
We've been here several times recently, each time hoping that the previous experience was an anomaly. We really wanted to like this place because it was so good when Nick had it, but the food is only pretty good and the service is very slow.
Nothing special. Didn’t enjoy anything. Service was good but food very average.
The albacore tuna dish was excellent, as was the halibut. The salad vert was underwhelming; instead of dressing it felt more like watered down lettuce. The fondue appetizer and desert were great, as were the cocktails. A great non-pretentious restaurant that provides a nice dining experience and great vibe. Also a great kids menu and outdoor seating is great if your little ones need to disperse some energy.
Tremendous staff and attention to the customer. Great food and vibe.
Absolutely love this spot!! It’s like being at home with amazing service - everyone is so warm and friendly. The albacore - waterMellon salad and roasted cauliflower berry cobbler was what I had and each bite was perfect.
Great outdoor dinning, very nice menu, great for date night out, we will return soon for another fun evening.
Loved the outdoor patio- beautiful. Our service was great, with timely personal attention from the wait staff, bartender and multiple servers who provided the entrees in unison. Our food was good (fondue starter, green salad, filet mignon, and chicken.) I did not like the cocktail I ordered, so they took it off the bill and provided wine instead. Overall, a very enjoyable experience.
Seriously this is my new favorite restaurant. EVERYTHING we tried was beyond amazing! I’m extremely critical about food and I couldn’t be more impressed. The chef and the owner both stopped by to check on us and say hello. The whole team works together on everything… the service is impeccable. The place itself is adorable and extremely clean. 10/10 recommend.
Excellent food! We had a great night. The only reason service got a 4 star review was because it was my husband’s birthday and I made a birthday request in my reservation and also spoke our sever to ask for a candle and they didn’t provide one. Otherwise it was fabulous!!
Appetizers and cocktails were good. Server and service were great. Tuna main course was awful. Tuna tasted old and salad served with it was only okay. My husband ate the fish because he didn’t want to waste it considering the small piece of tuna cost more than $30. I couldn’t eat more than 1 piece of it and I love tuna.
The service was amazing as always!!!!
Dined outdoors w friends and had a wonderful time.
The wine selection was perfectly recommended and the food was delicious…love the new additions to the menu! Looking forward to our next visit soon!
Thank you 💕
Second time to the restaurants. The food experience was slightly below what we had experienced on our first visit couple of months back.
Food was good but definitely not a good value, quite pricey for amount of food served. Made reservation noting it was our 38th Anniversary, not mentioned by staff and no complimentary dessert or glass off wine/champagne as is the "norm" for most "fine" restaurants. Very limited menu choices and no specials on day we were there.
We were quite frequent patrons of the restaurant that proceeded this one at the same location and were hoping to have a new "go to spot" for special occasions or honestly for a great meal.
Honestly not sure if I would recommend at current status.
Always perfect for get together, great food & excellent service,
Great food and service. They could step up the ambiance. Maybe candles on tables, lights in trees and around outdoor area. Just some plain wood tables and napkins rolled up.
Food & service was amazing. We definitely would go back!
Lovely setting, attentive staff. Chef checked in with us!
Amazing creative dishes. Super healthy.
We had a fabulous dinner with friends here. The menu was creative and the food was fantastic. Service was great and very friendly. We will definitely be back!
The fondue appetizer was the best! With 3 types of cheese, it was gooey and so delicious! The ceviche appetizer was also good and a bit spicy. The chicken marsala was tender and juicy and very good and so was the ECA burger. This was a second time here and it was another fabulous meal!
Food was good, but not spectacular as the previous dining experience in same location under different management. We were hoping this would be our "special night out" restaurant, but it was not as special was we had hoped.
We loved the burger and the lamb chops.
The chocolate fondue with fruit. short bread, and marshmallows was equally delicious.
A little pricey for what you get. Would not get the fondue appetizer- was underwhelming for $24!
Food was fairly bland - not well seasoned. Service and ambiance were fantastic.
The more I come here the more I’m in love with this spot - it’s the quintessential neighborhood spot - locally sourced always fresh - changing menu - excellent wine list - and staff that remember you and welcome you back.. ❤️
We Really enjoyed the food and outdoor patio. Creative drinks and dishes. All of them tasty. Service was good. Quaint area of Los Gatos away from Santa Cruz Ave.
Eleven College Avenue gave us a very comfortable, casual experience outside in the intimate sheltered courtyard. This is the former Nick's location. With COVID table spacing, it's not as crowded and was less noisy. The food was excellent. I had seared Ahi, and my wife had Chicken marsala. Both were fantastic. Service was attentive but not in our face. We had a great, relaxing dinner and are looking forward to coming back!
It was so good with the new owners and new chef! Nicolas came out and greeted us! Gave us amazing desserts and was super nice! He changes his menu weekly !!!! I am gluten free so lots of options as well!
I will be back again and again 💜
Location, food, ambiance, and service were all excellent. It was my first time there so I didn't know what to expect, but the experience definitely delivered. The Chef / Owner even came out to say hi for a minute. What a wonderful experience. We will definitely be back.
Wait staff and kitchen overwhelmed but sort of understandable given the current situation. Very inexperienced assistant wait staff make for some awkward moments. Food is very good, well presented and fresh. Great wine list but many offerings were out of stock. Overall, I hope it gets better with time. Def need to do something about the brightness of the foyer lighting. Glaring when seated facing it.
