Eleven College has it all - innovative cocktails, phenomenal food, a fantastic wine list and incredible service. We often, coincidentally end up with the same server - Anna, she's so friendly and helpful.
Every time we dine here, be it a cosy date night or a big birthday celebration, has always been a delightful experience.
Chef continues to surprise us with new and exciting dishes. Can't wait to be back!
My fiancé and I came here for first time on a Wednesday night with our dog. We showed up early for our reservation and we’re seated right away. The patio dining we were told was open seating and picked a spot next to the fire place. Our waitress turned on a couple more heating lamps too. The floor is heated too, which was great for our dog. The food and drinks were very good. I got the short rib and my fiancé ordered the A6 wagyu filet that was seasoned & cooked perfectly. The staff was very friendly and tentative, they even had a treat for our dog. We are looking forward to returning!
Our first time at this restaurant and we were not impressed. The ambience is very stark. And we were physically cold, inside. Our cocktails arrived in hot glasses and ur food arrived cold even though there were just a few tables busy. We liked the menu but I think there are better restaurants in town so I doubt we will be back. Bummer.
Food was excellent. Service was s a tiny bit slow as we were sitting outside
We’ve dined at Eleven College several times and each time the food and service have been wonderful
The chef/owner is an artist, he layers flavor and ingredients giving dishes of simple ingredients beautiful flavor. He came out to our table and talked to us, our service was attentive. We will be back as this was the most enjoyable meal we have had in a very long time.
Great cocktails, great food and outstanding service. The restaurant is a bit short on ambiance, but they make up for it in other ways. Marco makes fabulous cocktails.
Great menu and very well executed seasonal dishes! We are excited to see what chef comes up with next!
We had a very enjoyable New Year's Eve dinner! We started with the Forest Mushroom tartine, and it was very tasty with the melted goat cheese and the mushrooms. We both had a simple salad which was large and fresh. I had the short rib entree and it was very trendy and delicious! We even ordered another one to go! My spouse had the Wagyu fillet mignon with the freshly grated truffle on top (extra $$ for the truffle). The fillet was sooo tender and delicious! Best fillet we've ever had!
We also had some great drinks that the bartender made for us and we enjoyed the camaraderie with the bartender and the owner/head chef Suhail. Thanks for a great evening!
Cocktails are interesting and unique
We had the Short rib and Osso Bucco it was melt in your mouth delicious. This is are 2nd time here and we will definitely be back.
I have dined at Eleven College Ave twice. On both occasions I’ve had excellent attentive service and the food has been exquisite. On the first visit I had a hanger steak with Bordelaise that was perfect. On the second osso buco that was so tender it just fell apart into buttery deliciousness. It was matched with a potato cake - crispy on the exterior and creamy inside. The most amazing part was that Executive Chef/ owner Chef Suhail Karimi visited all of the diners on both occasions, and on my second visit he actually remembered me and even exactly what I ordered from my first visit. This went a long way to making me feel like a part of the community. I will be back again! The only challenge, which is far outweighed by the service and food, is that the dining room is loud even when it isn’t full. Maybe some sound baffling would help?
Not up to par with the rest of dining options in the area. It was empty inside at 6pm..that was our first sign...second, the app was just ok...the steak was not seasoned and way overcooked. Osso buco was dry. Oh and the chef came to our table with "seasonal truffles" to add to my steak....they tasted like NOTHING!!!! We will not be back.
Made reservations, included comments that the dinner is a birthday celebration. Upon arrival my wife reminded the hostess that we are celebrating my birthday and she acknowledge that they will do something special.
Order brussel sprouts/cauliflower appetizer was excellent. Entrees, Ossobuco and Sabelfish were good. There is no table appetizer like bread so we sat waiting between courses. Upon finishing the appetizer, plates were removed but were told to keep our utensils. They did not change out our used utensils and since there are no place mats, we had to leave our used utensil directly on the table. The table was not wiped off and they left crumbs and sauce that had dripped. Cold drinks including water are served w/o a coaster thus the condensation from the drinks left water drops all over the table. I had to constantly wipe down our table to prevent my wife's sleeves and my arms from getting wet. When they removed the entree plates, again failed to wipe our table thus we continued to sit there with condensation drops all over the table and now with the combined spillage/crumbs from the appetizer and entrees. We ordered Affogato and a Pumpkin ladyfinger dessert. My Affogato was severed 1st and was about 5 min before the my wife's dessert arrived. I had to start before my ice cream was completely melted and finished before my wife's dessert arrived. They should be served together. Again the table was cleared leaving wet and full of crumbs and spillage. Shortly after we received the check. They completely forgot that this dinner was my birthday celebration. Rather than complain or question the birthday, we paid and left.
Overall, food is good and prepare well however the service, attention to detail, and customer experience is severely lacking.
To the Management that was on duty, we were the couple that left a message on the credit receipt. This feedback is not for the customers but to the management to improve the overall experience for future customers.
The food was nothing special. They sited us under the oak tree outside the tent in 42 degrees weather. We were extremely uncomfortable. The general manager John Hemingway was rude and inattentive. We will never come back to this restaurant. What an unpleasant experience.
Ordered apps while deciding on cocktails. App was delivered by someone who couldn’t take orders for drinks. We then didn’t see our server for over 20 mins so we decided to forgo cocktails and order a bottle of wine. We ordered both at the same time, food was delivered before wine arrived (maybe 5 mins for wine to show up after food). Food order was wrong (they did discount my burger the $3.00 for the missing cheese). Not as pleasant as the pre-dinner service and environment at Soda Works just next door.
Great local place to dine. Great food, service and quiet location. Delicious!
Had an amazing fireside dinner at Eleven College Ave this evening. The patio is gorgeous, appropriately distanced, and they have enough heaters to go around. The food was outstanding, especially my broccolini, pretzels and beer cheese appetizer, yum! Entrees were perfectly cooked and delicious. I can’t remember the name of the dessert I had but it involved pumpkin brioche, if you have the chance, GET IT. Solid wine list including our 2017 Thérèse Vineyards Syrah, from Martin Ranch. The chef and owner Suhail even came to say hello and ask how things were throughout the evening, nice touch. So glad a worthy restaurant with a talented chef could take over this special spot, we will be back!!
Great host! Food very good.
Delicious food! The staff was very friendly & made sure we had a patio that was comfortable for our two dogs. They also brought out a water bowl for our furry friends.
Everything was excellent as always. One nit: Sitting outside, the music was a bit too loud for comfortable conversation.
Loved being on a toasty patio. Service was good as was the food! I’d like to try this again but certainly enjoyed dining here!
Amazing ambiance! Great service! Mixed reviews around the table about the food. The short ribs received praise. The enchiladas were a tad cold and the fish dish was dry. But enjoyed the night on the patio!
Sadly the food was ok not great bit served cold, and scant. Prices too high for this quality. We will not be back even though we live close and wanted to love it
Food was amazing! Highly recommend the winter squash enchiladas. Staff was attentive and friendly. Our waiter Matt was the best! I suggest not sitting near the door, it’s so cold and it gets left open a lot.
My favorite restaurant in Los Gatos. Amazing food. Beautiful patio. The chef came out to talk to us and he was awesome!
Food is excellent. This is my third trip.
We liked the location and we liked the outdoor area seating. Prices are high for what you get.
Comfortable yet upscale
Really good food
Several of us in our party had the halibut and everyone LOVED it! Went for a business meeting. Sat outside. Overall very good experience.
Don’t overlook this hidden away gem in central Los Gatos. We dined on the spacious shaded patio. We particularly recommend the cauliflower with shisito peppers, the aguachile verde mixto- an exemplary take on ceviche and the blackened Alaska halibut. All beautifully plated . Service was excellent.
We had soup salad and app’s. Nothing special. Ambiance was nice and service was very very good but probably won’t go back
Very delicious and we got to experience different menu special every time we come. Though we didn't get to eat wedge salad this time (which was always a bomb!!) we had the best halibut and chicken roast which so moist and oh-so-yummy! Always love to dine here. Service always extraordinary, some time the Chef will come and talk. Love!
Great for everything. Great food, great service, great ambiance, great location. We will definitely come back.
I’m not sure if they were understaffed. We finally asked the hostess who happened to be placing plates on the table next to us, if we could order a cocktail.
Our waiter passed our table several times w/o acknowledging us, finally came to ask us about champagne we ordered. We ordered Aguachile Verde Mixto. It was pretty to look at but, the shrimp was really raw/ crudo & scallops were not good.
We both ordered Harvest Gem salads. They were honestly both below subpar. Mehh… will not go back unfortunately.
In this time of eating in bump outs with traffic roaring by inches away, 11 College is an oasis of dining in a pleasant, lovely setting. Beautiful big patio with fireplace, very nicely spaced out. Lively but not noisy. Wonderful service starting with the maitre'd and continuing on through the waiter. Food and drinks are very good.
My idea of excellent dining experience.
Great outdoor patio. Really enjoyed the ambiance.
Outdoor ambiance fabulous, innovative preparation of the sea bass entree, creme brûlée wonderfully carmelized topping
European style slow service
Cold entrees with unappealing presentation
So-so wine options
The menu is limited but interesting. We started with the bread with compound butter option. Butter was served frozen so could not be cut or spread. Odd. When server returned with slightly thawed butter the flavors were good. The cauliflower appetizer was unique and really delicious. I ordered the short rib entree. My husband ordered the Chicken Marsala. The short rib was fall-apart tender but, sadly, was so salty it was almost inedible and I could only eat a few bites. The roasted broccolini served with the short rib was similarly over-salted. A tiny little nub of corn on the cob was the only other accompaniment. Everyone's palate is different so I asked my husband to take a bite (without saying anything) and he immediately said that it was way too salty. Cost of short rib was around $38 so I was disappointed. Chicken Marsala was very good (and correctly seasoned) and came with mashed potatoes which were probably too rich and buttery for the dish (guessing the butter to potato ratio was 1:1) but, still, tasty! Cocktails were solid. Service was friendly and polite but somewhat inattentive. Overall: Good but needs improvement. There are some really good menu items and some not very good ones. The pandemic took a toll on all restaurants so I know that things are not perfect but for the cost, I expected that all food served would at least be enjoyable and/or edible. I did let the server know my short rib was too salty but there was no offer to accommodate or change my entree (or remove it from the bill). I mean – I get it (maybe no one else thinks it too salty) – but also – it was expensive and inedible.
