we had a great time. the band was great and the staff was excellent. drinks were great. the band made my experience better.
What a great place for brunch, the Bamboleo brunch is so much fun! Great food, great atmosphere! I wish they had a few more seafood options on their menu but overall everything for great!
Went for my bday for a few drinks before dinner. Loved the ambiance and vibe, service was great. Pretty pricey but that’s how it typically is in the city. Would return for brunch. Loved the music. They played house and hip hop.
Good spot for a date, nice views + live music.
These places is fabulous. Food and drinks was on point.👍🏾👍🏾
El lugar es un bar en realidad no tiene platillos, solo cosas para botanear el servicio excelente ambiente tranquilo para parejas música buena
Held my card on file then charged me for someone else’s more expensive night. Said they would reimburse me but never did. Food was okay , people was nice but no worth the price.
It was a great location, very pretty but I guess it was very busy because we ended up waiting almost 45 minutes to be helped. there was one waitress who came up to us once in those 45 minutes and said that we can order anything we want and gave us a QR code to the menu which was the same as the Valentine’s menu except with Guacamole and Hummus. She then proceeded on to take shots with the other parties at various tables and did not bother coming back to us. I had to go up to someone and ask to speak to a manager because if had gotten ridiculous. our new waiter was extremely nice, offered us a pitcher of sangria for free and was very kind with helping us. it was definitely an experience, a very pretty place, lovely music but i don’t know if i recommend it completely.
Sold out of everything so you could only buy the food the told you to buy and was very expensive and loud
everything from the food, drinks and music were amazing! definitely on the pricey side but sometimes you gotta treat yo'self! i don't know if i'd ever go back considering the price point for just basic bar food, but it was definitely an experience :)
While Valentines day menu’s typically aren’t made to order, this prep prepared food was very overpriced. Additionally, on the website they did not indicate they would be charging a minimum but on arrival they suddenly were enforcing a minimum. Considering it was stated there would be indoor dining, we did not appreciate all the windows remaining open just so that they could accommodate additional people.
I went there for Valentine’s day. We had reservations and had to wait for a short period. Social distancing does not occur in this place. Once the rooftop door opens it is so cold. They had a prix menu and since they do not serve entrees only appetizers. Cold appetizers that aren’t even luke warm. They were so packed our waiter forgot about us several times. To make matters worse I am vegetarian my husband is not so we never eat the same meals except for that night. Shortly, after leaving my stomach did not agree with the food and then hours later his did not as well. It is now two days after Valentines day and we are fighting over the bathroom.
Well the food was not the selling point that’s expected but the drinks weren’t on point either. Def overpriced.
Post-proposal celebration for us(I proposed at the restaurant we were at before here. Would have been nice to know about the $198 minimum before hand. Was sad that most of the food and wine had run out before we got there at 530, and the margaritas Flatbread was undercooked(cheese wasn't even melted) and then ran out as well. The food that was available was delicious, our drinks(champagne, rose, bulleit Manhattan, etc were well made(we're bartenders so we have the chops to judge) and tasted great. Our server, Lisa was fantastic. Very attentive, very helpful, very professional. We enjoyed the ambiance and design of the place. We were very comfortable.
I would not recommend to go out for dinner. The menu for valentine's day was extremely lacking and the bottle of Malbec we ordered was subpar for the price point we were charged. I felt as if Elise did a cash grab for Valentine's day.
I made reservations for Valentine’s Day for me and my girls. I was pretty annoyed because even though we had reservations we had to wait in a line where people were just walking in. We didn’t get to our table till much later, and once we were sat down the server didn’t come to us till superr later and told us that there was a minimum for the day and a pre fix menu for $99 per person. But honestly the food and drinks were not even that good tbh. The lobster rolls was more bread than anything else, it barely had any lobster. The flatbread was soggy and doughy, and the truffle grilled cheese was a little stale. I’m sure they were busy for Valentine’s Day and may have been overwhelmed, but honestly the service was a little bit lacking and the food was really not the best. Also it was pretty cold on the enclosed rooftop which I did not expect, I definitely should have planned to bring a blanket or something.
I don’t like the fact they take your credit cards before you even arrive to the restaurant. They rush you to eat the food and drinks in 75 mins and I just think it’s unprofessional how they rush you to eat
Their opentable page did not mention revised cancellation fee of $50 a person only for Valentine's day. It only stated $25 a person. Also did not mention $100 minimum to spend per person for Valentine's day only on the open table page. When we got there they sprung this in us and did given between $400 to eat vs $250 to cancel, we had no choice but to stay. Had to order way too much and waste. Not going back ever, due to this ridiculous treatment.
It was sexy
Food is decent but expensive. Thought the drinks were tasty and strong. Service was ok, they were busy but attentive. Space heaters had to be turned out due to power issues. Something to think about on extra cold nights. Fun atmosphere.
We got a last minute reservation here for Valentine’s Day weekend and I can see why they had openings. The place was beautiful and must be a great spot in the summer! Not so much for winter with barely any heaters. They didn’t seem to care much about distancing guests either. Our drinks were watered down and sour. The food was pretty dang good! (We got sliders and guacamole) and the waitress was a sweet heart! Felt so bad for her wearing a dress in the freezing cold!
We made a 7:45pm reservation for indoor service. We were sat on the terrace directly underneath an open window. Less then ideal with freezing temps but we were understanding due to the complications of COVID. Seemed like the restaurant was trying to figure out how to safely execute indoor dining. In the section we were seated, the Tables/diners were spaced out about 18 inches as opposed to the suggested six feet. We didn’t feel very comfortable. We ordered a few drinks and a Lobster Sliders share plate. The Drinks came right away but the app never arrived. Our server checked in after twenty minutes or so to see if we wanted another round of drinks. We asked about the appetizer and she said she would go check. Another twenty minutes went by and still no food. At this point we were freezing so we asked to cancel the food and pay our bill. The card on file was charged with an order of beef sliders on the check. Took another 10 minutes or so but the manager eventually came over and re authorized the appropriate amount. We left colder and hungrier than we had arrived. Very unsatisfying experience.
Very crowded did not feel it was truly outdoor dining
The thai chicken satay was dry and not worth the $20. Our server Zohia was horrible! She barely checked on us and we had to keep flagging her down. But she was so attentive to tables close to our table. I really question if her service was bad because we were the only black patrons! None of the waitresses looked or seemed friendly. The host was pretty rude and not friendly! They also only had 1 out of 4 teapot choices, which is crazy because it seems to be the most advertised drink on their Instagram page! Overall, the place looks nice but it’s overpriced and overrated!! I would recommend saving your money and going somewhere else!
We were seated in a high top with no view what so ever and our table was wobbling. The sangria wasn’t good and my drink was sour. The food was great but small portions for the price we had to pay. We left really quick and went to another restaurant because we were still hungry.
Definitely would go back when the weather is a bit warmer. The appetizers were on point and the rosé sangria was very yums.!
Beautiful location! Bamboleo Brunch was a great experience. The ambiance was also very lovely.
It was my second time at Elsie. And even though the first time was great, welcoming host, great outdoor setup to survive pandemic boredom, etc. The second time around was a bit disappointing. We had a reservation for 8:30, knowing the place has a strict 10pm closing time due to COVID measures. We were asked to wait for 45 minutes before being brought to our table (that’s half of our reservation time) because they would not ask previous patrons to leave their tables even though the time limit is specified in the reservation policy. After being finally sat down, the waitress ignored us for another 10 minutes and had an attitude when she finally got to us (that she kept from start to finish) Not sure if the wine had been out too long, but it was lukewarm when she brought it but she couldn’t stay long enough to rectify it. We struggled to get any service all night long, which unfortunately dampens the great setting they would have otherwise
Service was relatively slow and it was not exactly "outdoors" - but great drinks and an awesome space/view!
Was very cold, so should offer heaters without need to ask given we had no idea they have heaters.
I showed up to Elsie rooftop last weekend and was disappointed from the moment I arrived. There was no doorman downstairs and the door was locked to get in so myself and several other patrons were standing outside in the cold trying to figure out to enter the bar. I had to call my friend and ask her to tell the hostess to come open the door and let us in out of the cold. One I arrived upstairs I was sat at a table in their outdoor heated rooftop which had no heater. They advertised it as outdoor heated dining on their website but it was absolutely freezing! People were sitting there shivering eating and drinking I was shocked they stayed. There was a section that was outdoor heated dining with heat lamps however that was not the huge section I was seated in. Blows my mind that they think people want to sit on their roof in the half enclosed area in freezing temperatures with no heat lamp. And its odd that some people get heat lamps and some dont. They should not take reservations for an outdoor area without heat lamps its ridicilous. I was not a walk in and was seated in the ARTIC. Then we tried to order some hot drinks to warm but the extremely RUDE waitress informed us with a stank look on her face that they didn't have the hot drinks but they had all the cold drinks for us to drink and continue freezing in their "second class section" that's the name I came up with for the section without heat lamps. After all the strikes against them in such a short period of time we decided to just get up and leave and go somewhere else and the waitress seemed like she couldn't care less that we were disappointed. We went to one of the competing roof tops in the area which had heat lamps and nice waiters who seemed to care about doing their job well unlike the waitress at Elsie. I do not recommend Elsie its FREEZING and the people are rude. Horrible experience which is sad because its a beautiful bar but I wont even go back in the summer.
There were no heaters. There was a live band playing on the patio + blasting through the speakers. I was trying to talk work w/ a colleague + asked to turn the volume down + wasn’t acknowledged. The drink was terrible I took 2 sips didn’t finish. My colleague had a hard cider. We each + a grilled cheese + shared guacamole + chips. The bill was $180... it doesn’t make sense. It was awful. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Drinks were overpriced and not that good. Atmosphere was cute but not heated at all
Was great experience though it was quite cold up there.
Super cold with the windows open. Heaters dont help.
Had an amazing night...ended up staying for 5 hours we enjoyed it so much! Would definitely come back.
Fun and trendy rooftop with great drinks
I really wanted to like this place but our recent experience was really disappointing. First, The place was FREEZING COLD!! Couple of the windows were open so even with a small heater on our table, we were still freeeezing... The place was also very under staffed. Most of our time there was just waiting in the cold.. we had to rotate seats so everyone can sit next to the heater for a bit to stay warm.. I appreciate them staying open but please please get better heaters...
It is too cold
The view was amazing and the drinks phenomenal 😍 definitely will be returning.
