Super night out, great food and even better wine! The service was excellent! Thanks
Staff very friendly and professional - really attentive but the food is average.
Outstanding but not overbearing attention from staff. Excellent advice on food choices and wine selection. First time to experience High top seating as main dining room was fully booked. Despite the through traffic this actually added to the ambience and did not intrude on the enjoyment of the meal. Would highly recommend.
For a Xmas lunch it was perfect. Food good. Atmosphere nice. And restaurant is nicely furnished.
We had a beautiful table, service was fantastic, food was amazing with such great choice, wine selection was perfect.
Overall - a great experience - I researched many places to eat in Dublin, however having spoke to a couple of locals they both recommended ELY.
The evening started great and the hostess who greeted us was fantastic - she firstly took us to the bar, where we sampled the cocktail and wine menu. We were soon shown our table, which was okay - we would of preferred somewhere a little more 'out of the way' as our table was next to the WC entrance, which meant being constantly passed by people every minute or so. However this wasn't too much of an issue and due to the restaurant being extremely busy - we overlooked this. The main issue we had was the service from the gentleman who served us - firstly he was extremed rushed, showed no attention to the wine menu- even though we said we could do with a little help when picking - he instead just agreed with the one I said I was thinking of getting, when I say agreed - he nodded his head and said 'yep' then walked away. He returned with the wine, halfway through tasting it - he walked off to go and speak to another table - he returned... and I said 'yes the wine was fine' again he nodded - poured our glasses and walked off. This was the the attitude he had all night - no special attention, no conversation - at times he almost seemed sarcastic with the smiles he gave us - to the point I was close to saying something but didn't want to ruin the night. The food here is fantastic and the decor / restaurant is a lovely place to be. If it wasn't for the rude waiter we would of stayed for a couple of extra drinks in the bar - instead we thought it was best to leave and head somewhere a little more friendly. A shame really - as the bar staff and the hostess were all lovely. I would recommend this place and hope that the waiter we had improves his attitude for future guests.
Food not great
Was told when table was needed back when I had just ordered a cocktail that I would have liked enjoyed...won't be going back
Great wine list, smallish menu but excellently done, daily specials also. Well worth a go, some High tables there also making it slightly less formal if you want. Highly recommended.
Everything amazing, I will back again
Great food bit could have done with more cárb. Wine delicious and well priced. Waiting staff attentive and explained delay in serving main course but didn't bring bread we asked for while we waited. Seating and ambience great.
Staff wasn't very friendly. The food was good but a bit overpriced for what it is. Overall pleasant but a bit disappointing. Wine was lovely and plenty to select from. Definitely would go again just for drinks.
When we arrived, we ordered cocktails, which were very good. We also ordered wines for smalls and mains, the idea of course being to have smalls after the cocktails with appropriate wine, and then mains with matching wines. Smalls appeared in the middle of drinking the cocktails, with a suggestion that perhaps we do not have the wines we ordered but just drink cocktails. We accepted this, cocktails were good. Mains appeared in due time, but I had to ask for the wines. My duck was really good, my wife's cod was good but way too salty. After finishing the mains, we mentioned this to the waiter, a nice gentleman, who said that also others have complained. Simply, too much salt spoiled the great portion. Of course, we should have reacted immediately, but we did not. Our waiter, the last one we talked with, was truly sorry of what had happened, and expressed this very clearly. A decent "compensation" was that we did not need to pay of the cocktails.
It is clear that this is a good restaurant. Food may be excellent. Perhaps it would be important to be aware that to be really good one has to pay attention to details and never be too satisfied with oneself. With pleasure I recognise the appropriate reaction of our last waiter.
Great night out with my brothers. Super wines and my meal with a scallop starter and a Wild Pigeon main were super! Really enjoyed the night.
As always, food perfect, service wonderful, atmosphere very comfortable. Would highly recommend.
Exceptional staff, delicious food and wine, and a lovely overall experience.
Wonderful welcome, attentive, well informed staff. Excellent service, food, wine and honey cheesecake!
Best burger in Dublin. Cod was lovely too.
Everything there was really good
I would recommend that for my friends
Really enjoyable, good relaxed atmosphere, really tasty food, great wine, friendly service. Top class
We were 20 mins late arriving and the staff were very accommodating. Nice place
Nice place. Great service and value for money. We’ll be back.
Great food, buzz and nice atmosphere. Staff very friendly and nice feeling to the venue.
Great at all levels. Fresh, tasty food, well presented. Large choice of wine. Service was proactive with attention to detail.
Very enjoyable evening with family. Lovely table. Lovely choice of menu. Great wine selection. Not noisy so could have a nice catch up. Waiters very helpful. Left us sample wine before we mad our decision. Have been before but will not leave it as long again. I would have no problem recommending this restaurant.
Gorgeous food, beautiful wine recommended by lovely staff & superb service
All of the main courses were cold. 2 sent back and returned cold. Very disappointing
Great wine recommendation when we asked for advice .
Will be back
Menu limited but food very good . Customer service excellent and staff very friendly and helpful
Gorgeous restaurant, the staff truly make you feel so special. The food is outstanding, really quality. A beautiful evening all round
We enjoyed a very nice meal last Tuesday night at 6pm. We choose a la carte instead of the Early bird as we preferred the menu. The wine was very good too, the only downside was the fact that the vegetable portions were rather small so we ordered a side of chips. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed it.
had a really really enjoyable night - food and wine very good, staff excellent. Our original wine choice not available, and our waiter recommended a Portuguese wine in a similar price bracket.. Top marks.
The best place in Dublin. Faboulus boys, maravellous wines and food. The bar is beatiful and the music very very nice. We came back two nights, because we have a really dependence of this amazing place!
Ely consistently delivers great food and wine - We had the scallops, which are amazing. We aslo had the specials, Halibut and Lamb dishes, both were excellent.
Most of my visits are for lunch but it never lets me down.
Beautiful light lunch, food was outstanding and service was excellent
Ely has great food and one of the best wine lists in Dublin. Their wine selection strays well off the beaten path and can provide you with new experiences and tastes from regions both known and obscure. Let them guide you and you’re sure to have an interesting time!
Great food, friendly service. Nice lunchtime ambiance. Desserts particularly nice.
A very enjoyable experience in a wonderful bistro atmosphere. Great, friendly service that helped without being overbearing. A fantastic wine list (that is far too tempting) completes the package. Can't wait for our next visit.
Excellent service and wine selection. Waiter was helpful on pairing a cheese plate with our red wine.
