Staff were great, food was average and the vibe was dead
Lovely setting by the river Avon. Food and service excellent.
Very good indeed. Food was very tasty. Generous portions too. For a hotel restaurant, I was impressed.
Don't eat here, even if you are staying in the hotel. The food is not worth the money and the service is really poor. The starters for a table of 4 didn't all come out together and one of the deserts was missed and came out when everyone else had finished. This was travelogue quality and service for a 5 star price. Dont believe the online menu as a number of the items do not appear on the menu in the restaurant. So many better places in Bath to eat.
Over priced. Had to ask for cutlery for the starter. Main meals were not as described on the menu. One meal was so hot (not mentioned on the menu) meals had to be swapped. 10% tip was automatically put on the bill! Not worth it at all.
Very attentive staff and good food! Plus the restaurant offers seats overlooking the river which is superb. Kudos!
Not biggest menu a bit of a limited choice.
lovely food delicious
well cared for by staff
Has potential but could be a lot better. Overall a disappointing visit.
I made a booking for the "secret garden" for 3 people for a friend's birthday. The photos on the website claimed views of the river and the food menu included several platters which I thought would be nice to have with cocktails.
Upon arrival, we were asked whether we wanted to sit outside at all because the covered area was waterlogged. We decided to sit in the uncovered area outside as there was a bit of the evening sun but it was a bit lacking in atmosphere and didn't overlook the river. That said, it was our decision to sit there.
The menu we were presented with was a reduced menu for the Euros and consisted of a handful of starters and mains. None of the platters I'd seen on the website.
We ordered drinks but were told they'd run out of olives (for the classic martini) and then when the frozen strawberry daiquiri was served up we were told "sorry, it's not frozen" - it looked like a sorbet!
We ended up only staying for 1 drink and went home, as everywhere else was booked.
On a positive note, staff were welcoming and friendly.
I can't work out how to provide my feedback directly via their website as the contact information won't load up.
Staff were very attentive.
Food was very tasty. We had the fish and chips and the house burger.
The only criticism is that the burger meal, came in a little tray/box, which was quite difficult to eat from. It should just be put on a plate.
Drinks were nice and we had a lovely view of the river directly next to a window.
Food came out cold and you could tell it was cooked from frozen as it was still very cold in the middle. Very bland. Told the host and was told there was nothing they could do about it. Paid in full for some of the worst food I’ve ever had.
The service started off very well with a pleasant young lady showed us to our table.
Once seated things started to change, I did not expect to have a large television with rugby on whilst I'm trying to enjoy my meal but my wife and I tried to ignore this.
We ordered a sea food platter to share and drinks. The seafood consisted of Whitebait, calamari, thai crab cake and prawns.
The whitebait was ok though had cooled a lot since leaving the kitchen, the prawns were nice though again not fully hot, the crab cake was bland considering it was supposed to be THAI, the calamari was over cooked and again only warm and to be honest appeared to be from a frozen packet variety.
We were hungry so just ate our meal anyway.
When asked by a very scruffy looking waiter how our meal was, we said it was ok, but not properly hot, his only comment was "well you ate it"
We dont like to create fuss and complain so we just left it there and asked for the bill.
When the bill came I was asked if I would like to add a tip, I said no and advised the matre de of the above, but paid the bill anyway. Unfortunately when I rechecked the bill after I'd left I still found a 10% services charge added, my own fault for not checking but still feel cheated.
I will not be returning
Nice place to grab a quick bite to eat!
Lovely food and ambience
Good food served by professionals
I turned up to meet my son who lives in Bath only to be told that despite the fact that I'd booked through Open Table they weren't taking bookings until "maybe 3pm"
Had paid for parking, could have forgiven it but their customer service was appalling they didn't seem bothered, won't be booking with them again or using Open Table again in a hurry.
Worst thing was then trying to find somewhere else to eat, all the nice places near there had queues and/or were booked.
Lovely food, chilled atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
