    Server messed up and one of the members in our party did not get their pizza — the rest of us got our food after 45 minutes. Checks came out wrong and it was a whole deal to get them corrected. Drinks were overpriced and did not have draft beer options. Overall not a great experience for a slow Friday night.

    We usually enjoy this restaurant. On Saturday, they were out of red wine, lots of beers, mozarella sticks, among the things we asked for. Service was a little slow as well. Who runs out of all red wine?

    Horrible customer service from Jordan the manager. We ordered a pizza with mushrooms on all, chicken on half, and pepperoni on the other half. On the menu, the price for chicken on the whole pizza is $3 and the price for pepperoni on the whole pizza is $3. We ordered half chicken and half pepperoni so logically, it would make sense to pay 1/2 the price for half of the ingredients (chicken and pepperoni each at $1.50). When the bill came out we noticed we were charged full price for not just mushrooms, but chicken, and pepperoni as well. This was not a big deal as it was only a $3 discrepancy on a $65 bill, but we mentioned it to the waiter out of principle and they said they could take care of it without any issues… then came Jordan. Jordan, the manager, said he would not and could not charge us 1/2 price for half the ingredients. To make sure we received only half the ingredients we asked Jordan how many slices of pepperoni and chicken go on a whole pie for $3. “20 slices of pepperoni and 6 slices of chicken go on a whole pie.” Our pie had 10 slices of pepperoni and 3 slices of chicken, as we requested, but we were being demanded to pay for 20 slices of pepperoni and 6 slices of chicken. Again out of principle, we then asked Jordan to bring us the 10 slices of pepperoni and 3 slices of chicken since we were being forced to pay for the full amount of ingredients to which Jordan replied, “I am not going to do that.” If we paid for it, why wouldn’t he bring them to us? His response was, “because you asked for half pepperoni and half chicken.” Yes Jordan, but you charged us for full pepperoni and full chicken… Long story short, the food was fine but I refuse to go to a restaurant that does not value the customer experience, and I refuse to pay for food that I do not receive. Jordan is not in the right career for his attitude.

    Overall the food was pretty good. We had the Le Carl burger and the Big Ang pizza. For Detroit style pizza, this was probably the best Detroit style I've ever had. The crust was light and crispy, not bready and doughy like this style can be. The vodka sauce and ricotta plus banana peppers and sausage topping on the Big Ang is delicious. The burger was good, definitely above average, but not knock-your-socks-off. Cocktails were a bit disappointing. The "Under the Moonlight" is shy on the bourbon and Amaro, and heavy on the peach, lemon and tea. Basically tasted like a Lynchburg Lemonade, rather than a craft cocktail

    I have been to other Emmy locations so this is specific to Navy Yard on the evening of the Link concert. It was the worst dining experience, I’ve ever had and if there wasn’t heavy rain/tornado warning outside the.n we would have walked out. Our reservation was at 515 and we didn’t sit down til 630 and didn’t get food until 730. The bart was short with only bartender and it took 25 mins to get a drink at the bar while we waited. When seated, we had to beg one of the two serves, working to take our order. We had to walk to the bar to grab our drinks we ordered because the wait staff would hide in the kitchen. It was unreal. I’m guessing they were extremely understaffed but the existing staff didn’t (minus) the bartender, didn’t want to be there and weren’t trying to make it a better experience. We will never return to this location.

    The restaurant was practically empty, and the service was unfortunately pretty bad. It took over an hour to get our food (pizza); and only a portion of our order arrived. some drinks we ordered never arrived (and when they did arrive it took an unusually long time). The bartender was absent it seemed? I generally love Emmy’s so I’m assuming it was an off night.

    Compared to other Emmy squared locations (nyc is my only other reference point) this one is much lower in the quality department. The cocktails were watery, the food less fresh. Still decent, but not amazing.

    Finally made it to Emmy Squared Navy Yard. This pizza is DELICIOUS. We got the Hawaiian (don't hate) and their version of a Supreme-both were so yummy. The red pepper flakes weren't very spicy though...not sure what that was about. We ordered the frozen pomegranate Margaritas and they hit the spot. The drinks menu is way overpriced but typical for DC now I guess. We had the garlic breadsticks and Caesar salad for apps. Server was wonderful.

    We dined at Emmys while a Nats game was in progress. We were greeted upon entering the restaurant and seated within a few minutes. Service was prompt and the pizza was delicious. I’m guessing it is Detroit style pizza. Very tasty. Service was prompt. Overall good experience

    We finally decided to give them a try and boy were we impressed! We shared an Italian salad and a pizza with caramelized onions, sausage and gouda....it was delicious. The waitstaff was attentive and friendly. We will be back!

    Being born and raised in Detroit, I grew up eating Detroit pizza. When I took a bite of this GF pizza, I was immediately transported to Northwestern Hwy, to the home of the first Detroit pizza. Emmy Squared is so so authentic and delicious! It was such a treat to eat something that was so tasty and nostalgic!!! Amazing food!

    Service was AWFUL. After 20 minutes we flagged down a server who said he wasn’t our server but would take our order. We ordered right then. Only 2 of the 3 food items we ordered came, only 1 of 3 drinks came and it was wrong! Food is amazing but not worth the terrible service. Go to Shaw instead!!

    We went for a late lunch on a Monday. The staff was lovely. Both our hostess and server were warm and welcoming. We were excited that Emmy has locations in DC after having gone to the Williamsburg and WV Emily location a lot over the years. Unfortunately the food was not the same and really disappointing. The marinated cucumbers were overly dressed and inedible. Our server kindly took them back and we heard whoever was in the kitchen yell about it being sent back. Classic. Salad was watery and mediocre (ate it anyways bc we were hungry and had already sent the cucumbers back). The burger was over cooked and buns had gotten soggy and barely held shape. The only comparable item was the pizza. Thankfully, that was good.

    Not great. The waiter messed up our order and then the kitchen forgot to re-fire it and everyone at the table had eaten their entire meal before I got mine. I was still charged for the pizza and the receipt had the wrong order on it. The pizza is delicious, the staff are unorganized but friendly. This place has potential but doesn’t seem like everything runs smoothly. Also really confused about why the waiter did not bring us our drinks until after our appetizers had arrived. Also the waiter said the manager would stop by and he or she never did. I don’t think I’d ever come back which is a shame because the pizza is pretty good for DC.

    The pizza was delicious, but the service left little to be desired. If you cant handle multiple tables, you shouldn't be a server. It was super awkward after our server fought for a 10 top table in front of us, and then forgot that he had other tables. The first time in my life that I did not leave at least a 20% tip.

    Not welcoming! When seated at 8:20, told immediately the restaurant closed at 9:00. Had to wait to order, all agreed it was stressful! Took forever to get cocktails. The vibe was not good, servers seemed unhappy. Not the same experience as their other location which is fun and a well oiled machine. Food was great though, we had to eat fast!

    The pizza was very good. The service was super hit and miss. Some was pretty terrible (our waitress forgot our drinks and an appetizer and didn't check on us for ages- we had to clear our own dishes out of the way when new food came, etc.) and some was above and beyond (Chef Matt went out of his way to make sure our order was fixed and we got everything we needed). The food was really good but the bizarre service kind of left a bad taste in our mouth.

    Lovely food, but HUGE pizzas. We were encouraged to get a starter by the server, as the pizzas may have taken a while, but we were almost too full when they arrived to finish the pizzas. Go there hungry and don’t get a starter

    We love Emmy Squared and have always had great experiences at the Old Town and Shaw locations. Unfortunately, the service received at the Navy Yard location wasn’t up to the same standards. When we arrived we weren’t greeted and it seems the staff working the day we dined wasn’t happy to be there. It was my husbands birthday and the food was great but would recommend the other locations over this one.
