Lovely dinner , food was delicious!!
Mixed experience. Some dishes were amazing - best swordfish ever! Others didn’t really hit the mark. Kitchen was slow and a bit confused about whether they did or did not have fish, etc.
Server was apologetic but a bit scattered.
Have dine here often. Service tend to be on the slow side. Food is always good. Paying can often be a drawn out process.
Great new space. Friendly staff. High quality food. Wonderful neighborhood restaurant.
The food was consistently delicious! Very authentic creative Italian.
We went back Saturday night after the CAL game with our two daughters to Enoteca Molinari for a relatively late 8pm dinner. We wanted to know if the excellent dinner and service we had two weeks prior with just my wife and I was a fluke. Well, it wasn't a fluke. We walked into this cute and cozy place and were instantly greeted with "its great to see you again, welcome!" by the wonderful waiter. The fantastic Italian chef smiled a greeting at us and Joe, the owner greeted us and helped us find a couple great bottles of Italian red wine. Dinner was again superb. The two pastas were delicious paired with a couple starters and the great eggplant dish. Well done folks. Can't wait to come back. Love this place.
This is such a jewel. I love the warm service and superb food.
Wonderful service and food. Will be back!
The server, Casey, was the best server I've ever had in my entire life. She was gracious, patient with us, highly accommodating, and kept our waters filled. The place was packed, too!! Amazing food, amazing service.
We came through the tunnel and were able to get a Saturday evening reservation at this wonderful little Italian restaurant on College Avenue. We were so lucky because we found this hidden gem. While it’s been here close to nine years it’s really easy to walk right by it. We had seen it before and had never ventured in.
The owner and the Italian chef are so friendly and the food is authentic and outstanding and the service spot on with a smile.
The tagliatelle is as good as you can find anywhere in Italy or New York. The Monterey Bay calamari with Frisée was awesome. Their wine list is great and Joe picked out a super nice bottle of red for us from Tuscany.
While Belotti just down the street gets much fanfare, don’t miss Enoteca Molinari.
The service here was much better then we received at the bar at A16.
Good food excellent ambience and great service
Food was exceptional as always. Angelo always makes sure that plates are served as soon as food is ready to be served. Joe provides many wine choices to go with the chosen dish. Service has always been attentive. and ready to please. All good reasons to go back and enjoy an evening of great tastes and company.
What a gem. The unbreaded! calamari with fennel and garbanzo beans was excellent. My friend's gnocci was really delicate ( I never order it because it is usually heavy. ) My tagliatelle was good but a bit meat heavy. Very Good service (only four stars because they forgot about us after we came in.) Nice ecletic crowd and cool little bar.
One of your favorites, it is a calm place, with excellent Italian, like you would find in Italy. They have a great Italian wine list, at reasonable prices.
One of my favorite places. Sit at the bar if you can.
We had a great evening - good service and good food! Thanks.
From out of town and met friends here with no expectations - wow! Service was just the right amount of attention, very knowledgeable and helpful. Food was great, as were wine and dessert. Very enjoyable.
Excellent! Warm service and delicious food. I always feel right at home here.
We used the word"sublime". Its very Italian is so far as the motto is - we take care of you and you take care of us! the food is delicious and sublime!
The pasta was delicious and so was the salted caramel pudding.
What a find in the Rockridge! Perfectly prepared rustic Italian food without heavy sauces or needless mounds of cheese. My ragu was made with fresh tagliatelle that was sublimely l dente. The vegetable soup was made with a robust vegetable stock and hearty pieces of carrot and English snap peas. My wife had the salmon that was accompanied by a fennel, olive, and caper medley with pure Mediterranean flavors. There is also an excellent Italian wine list with wines being offered by the glass. I’m also happy to report that the wine markups were a bit less than expected, so this make Enoteca Molinari an even better value for your dining budget. Salute!
Tagliatelle was my choice and I was very satisfied. Cauliflauer good too and others in party liked their dishes too.
Excellent food! Wonderful service. Tiny, cramped space that can get pretty noisy, but it didn't matter as we had such a great meal. Very good wine selection.
Service was the best part about Enoteca. Our server Fabian was friendly, attentive and suggested excellent wine pairings for our meal.
For the amount of times, my family has eaten at Enoteca Molinari, we have never been disappointed.
From Angelo, the Neopolitan chef, to the waiters and Joe, the owner, we highly recommend the cuisines, the service as well as Joe's choices when choosing wines.
This small, charming, restaurant with delicious food and warm service made feel that I was in Italy again!
As always, Enoteca is the place for perfectly prepared southern Italian food. The only mistake was ours-we ordered every on the menu except the ragu. I must return soon!
We love this little spot -- great Italian food -- and wine to pair -- quiet enough to talk -- just a little charmer.
The food is quite good--authentic Italian (vs. Italian-American) flavors and dishes. Also a wine list that compliments the food. We dined early, so it wasn't crowded and was easy to converse, but as a small room, it could get hard for some to hear. I would definitely go there again.
Great ambiance and very attentive staff. They went out of their way to make sure that we were happy.
We love this place. The food is always good. It's small. You can have a conversation without shouting across the table. Highly recommend./
We have visited Italy several times and loved how small restaurant dining was the highlight of our trips. Enoteca took us back! From the moment we walked in the service made us feel at home. From Antipasti to Verdure to Pasta/pesce to pana cotti we were no longer in Oakland but there we were! The gnocchi al fungi was so light and my wife’s swordfish was the first time she has not asked for lemon ever! We will be back and highly recommend.
Dinner with my 92 year old Mom is always special and whenever we dine at Enoteca Molinari, we feel special!!! From the moment you walk in you are treated wonderfully. Every morsel to eat is amazing and the service is outstanding!!!
Fun sitting at the bar. Bartender was very informative and helpful in understanding the wine list.
We have been here three times. I am almost willing to write a less then spectacular review to make sure we can still get a table here next time, because when word gets out it will be much harder for us to get a table here. But honesty and customer loyalty forces me to say this is a real gem in the neighborhood with great service and very good food. We like the arrancini and the beet I like it that they have several good beers including the fantastic Tripel Karmeliet. 5 stars
Love this neighborhood gem. Intimate atmosphere with really good food and service.
small intimate spot, very authentic food, + food combinations/ flavors were as if we were dining in Italy! Need to make reservation since small number of tables but always love dining at the bar!
It was excellent. Will be my go to place for a great meal where you can have conversation
Everything you hope for when looking for true excellence in a an intimate setting can be found here.
We went to Molinari after striking out at another restaurant, and were pleasantly surprised. The food was simple, but terrific. We shared three appetizers, a main course and a dessert. The standouts were the Monterey Bay calamari, the arancini and the gnocchi. They have an interesting wine list - tho' not extensive.
