It was my friends birthday dinner. The service was excellent, and the food was good. However I think that it was way too expensive for two people. It cost over $200 for a one meal and one drink each.
The service and the food was just amazing. We will come back soon as the experience that we had was absolutely beautiful. Thank you 👋🏻
We went on a Wednesday night on the second sitting and it was full up . We had previously been on a Saturday and had to wait to get our table as the first sitting was later leaving . I am limited to what I can eat as I am vegetarian but I am not a big eater so I am happy with the range of food available for me. My husband is a big seafood eater and loves going there . We only go on special occasion because it is not cheap but we always enjoy the experience , we go early and have a drink in the WTR , in my opinion it is the best bar I have ever visited.
Great variety of hot n cold foods. However it was a bit pricey during the festive season.
I have been back here quite a few times. The service is very good. The food is average. Their worse dish is the Peking duck, the duck pieces have bones, they could at least have deboned the duck. Also the duck meat is dry.
Having been to Epicurean before we were looking forward to our return visit on the 05/12.
We were really surprised to find out on paying our bill before leaving that the price had increased to $85.00 for the Buffet . We realised once it had been pointed out to us by the not so pleasant Cashier young Lady that it had been upgraded on the Epicurean website, of the increase due to the Festive season.
We were disappointed in the Prawns, which we presumed would have been sourced from Australian waters, but as they had no flavour whatsoever we think maybe they were from overseas. Is this so?
Beef was overcooked and dry and we all thought that perhaps the best selection on the day was the choice of desserts.
All four of us thought that due to the expense of our lunch on the day we went that the next time we would book in to one of the other Restaurants and give Epicurean a miss. Disappointing as it is a lovely looking Restaurant.
Telephone booking, arrival and seating handled quickly and efficiently.
Table for 2 sometimes felt as though it had been ‘plonked’ down in the corridor or thoroughfare. There was a table behind us with a few more patrons, but their table seemed to blend in more than ours.
I ended up in a longer queue on first time at the selections table; should’ve paid attention as there were 2 queues and I should’ve stayed in the first one I joined and not moved.
Had to wait a bit for teapot to be refilled - all I wanted was a hot water top-up.
Would return for the food and service. Forgot if there was a price excluding bubbles, useful option *if not* already available.
Thinking aloud here ...
Wondering if sometimes possible or even necessary to put say, a group of patrons in their 60s bit further away from a table with energetic and *loud*, uh, effervescent kids.
Fun time had by all the boys.
Amazing food, amazing atmosphere. The only thing I would comment on is there wasn't any red wines without preservatives, but other than that I enjoyed everything.
Excellent food quality and flavour. We went to celebrate my son's birthday. Cocktails very expensive $20 each. I will be back but wont have the cocktail next time!
I would not recommend but its good to at least go for once. My friend and I we booked a table at 6pm and we were late due to parking issues and trying to find our way to the restaurant. We arrived at 630pm and we were told that we have only 1hr to dine due to the early session that closes at 730pm. We were startled and was also given the option to come back at 8pm to enjoy a 2hrs buffet. We decided to stick with the time we have but the whole dinning experience felt so rushed through. When I did my booking - i saw a 645pm timeslot, does it mean people who come at 645pm will have to leave the ppace by 730pm too? Cause apparently the floor was cleared around 730pm. Food however is good and fresh but nothing special. Due to the limited time we had we didn't get to try a wide range of food.
An absolutely amazing experience. Terrific range of food to suit all tastes and the service was impeccable.
For sure the bst (currently) buffet experience in Perth, however after a trip to Las Vegas it blurs into normality. That said the food selection is excellent, lunch ($55) is a better option than dinner ($79) and is the same menu! Definitely a good place to take friends on a special occasion, only downsides 2 hour slots and slow service, queue to pay at end can take 20-30 minutes to clear.
Birthday dinner to die for. Awesome selection of all our favourite things.
The selection of dishes was great and also well prepared.
The food selection is good and ingredients are fresh, the Tasmania oyster is superb!
The restaurant was very pleasant with professional, helpful staff. The food was on a high standard with great selection. On booking the reservation a question that should be asked is whether this is a special occasion. This was our wedding anniversary and we were positioned by a corner wall in quite a noisy surround. We could of been better placed to enjoy an ambiance for the occasion. The restaurant was fully booked so we couldn’t relocate. Overall a very good performance and we will be back again.
I though your prices was very expensive there was only 4 of us
And it coast us over $400 we only had 2 drinks as well.
Noise level spoilt it. We asked for an egg cup holder for breakfast, waitress didn't know what it was but asked. There are no egg cup holders so guest have to eat their boiled eggs out of their hands. Chocolate fountain looked nice but was very thin. The home made little chocolate pralines were outstanding, also enjoyed the oysters and salmon, horseradish salad and capers. Nice bread and butter. Wine list needs improving, not a good selection.
The food was on point. Lots of varieties and the food was absolutely delicious.
Food was good but it was better when the first time it was opened
Was surprised at the pricing for children. With a 4 and 6 year old who ate very little i wish i looked at the pricing before booking. Did not expect sunday lunch to be as costly as it was, less food on offer than at the Atrium, and not sure where the extra cost came in compared to the mon - sat menu. Will definitely favour Atrium in future and have warned family who asked not to expect it to be worth it.
For large groups of people , especially when the group is multi-national, this is the perfect choice as each person can choose to eat exactly what they prefer. Its also a great choice for a first date because every taste in food is covered. The food is all beautifully prepared and laid out.
Lovely food atmosphere and selection. Would def go back again
The best smorgasbord I have experienced. Every item was wonderful - especially the sashimi. Some of the best I’ve ever had.
I've been to Epicurean twice now, and have both times been blown away with how warm and attentive the staff have been, both at the door and at our table.
The range of seafood is delicious, the expanse of desserts absolutely INSANE. No matter if you like rich, comforting cake or fresh mousses, the dessert bar is where you want to be.
I had requested a small dessert and happy birthday candle for my boyfriend's birthday, not knowing if the restaurant did that. To our delight, our server came with a small slice and lit candle and wished us well. Really put a topper on an amazing lunch.
(PS- butter chicken and lemon meringue pie is to DIE for)
I took my 8 & 10 year old great nephews for lunch as a special treat. They loved it, particularly the beautiful prawns and the chocolate fountain!
Very good selection of dishes overall so you are somewhat spoilt for choice. I was however surprised that the fresh fruit selection was very limited.
The food and ambience was really good. Although $95 pp is quite high with the amount of food any person can have in a meal so I feel it’s not really worth the value. Apart from that, it was lovely!
Great place to enjoy with friends or for a special occasion.
Very nice food but will be easier if u let us to split bills and some of us are drinking alcohol and some don’t. Not many people bring cash these days and 2 of my mate has to go to the machine to take out some cash.
Great international selection. Delectable desserts
Food was great service great got a shock when I paid bill
Very nice . Excellent food presentation. Lovely ambience. Good service. Would absolutely go again.
They cancelled my daughters booking 30mins prior because the girls were all under the age of 16, which they knew about 2 weeks prior
Thanks for ruining my daughters 14th Birthday lunch Crown
A small variety but quality food choices. We had great service when we came in and requested a different table, they made the effort to move us. It's very baby friendly, new with amazing decor for Perth standards.
My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our birthday lunch celebrations with a delicious meal, a glass of wine and were looked after by attentive staff.
salty very salty
It just getting worse and worse
The watermelon no fresh just like putting there for manny year .
We had heard that this was an exceptional restaurant and it lived up to its reputation. Exceptional food and the service was also exceptional. My only issue is that if you don't book at the beginning of the seating session you get less time to eat and spend time together. The number of young children walking around did not help the safety of walking with plates of hot food.
We will be back but now we know that this is a high end restaurant for food and cost but certainly not for ambiance. maybe a children section would be better for all.
