Evita Argentinian Steakhouse
We were pleasantly surprised by the impeccable service provided at Evita. The ambiance is wonderful and the food speaks for itself. We will absolutely be returning for round two of bbq beef ribs!
Went New Years Eve so place was getting busy. Took a while to get the cocktail I ordered because the bar tender was also answering the phone and welcoming guests. Ordered lamb & veal empanadas and they were incredible. Main course came so quickly I barely sipped my drink. My wife LOVED her meal...the chicken marsala, I had the veal schnitzel which is supposed to be an Argentinian specialty but I was somewhat disappointed. Germans do it better. Shared the churro/ice cream dessert which was very good but barely enough to share. Overall service was good. Parking in the area could be a real challenge.
Cowboy steak special is great for sharing- too big for 1. (They should tell you!)
House made bread is to die for!
So is garlic spinach.
Onion ring appetizer is unique and great!
This was my third time to Evita's. Quality of food and service is outstanding.
My favorite place to visit, even more than the museums, when I travel to Chicago.
I took my husband here for his birthday as we've been wanting to try it for awhile. We were not disappointed. My husband got a huge steak that was excellent and I ordered a few delicious apps and beef soup to make up a meal. Our waiter was very helpful and let us know the best things on the menu. We would love to go back soon to try some of the other dishes. Also the churro dessert was so good, we ordered a second one right away.
Overall great experience! Delicious food! Quick and courteous service.
My wife and I only go out a few times a year, so we want to be sure we enjoy our time out. Evita's is our "go to" for steak. The soups and appetizers are delicious. We often opt for one of the specials. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
Best lamb chops I’ve ever had! I loved the garlic fries that came with. Great recommendation on a wine to accompany my meal. The owner was super accommodating as well.
Everyone was extremely friendly, however, our server only gave us one out of four items we ordered, and everything took a while to come. They did remove some items from our bill, though, which was nice. The food was ok.
Great service and delicious food.
Only complaint - it was - but too noisy for deep conversations.
Food very good but not outstanding. Good size portions. Soups were excellent and were outstanding. Meat prepared well, with very nice presentation. Quite expensive, but one expects that of Kosher. Deserts good but one can tell that they are pareve.
Our group of seven had a center table in the restaurant which has a solid ceiling, brick walls and all right angles and the noise was deafening. There was no sound treatment at all. We screamed at each other across the table all evening. The food was good, although the steak and fries were warm and not hot when served.
Delicious food, great ambiance- clean table and walls and excellent service
Will be visiting again when I can
The Barbeque rack of ribs for two were juicy and succulent! We’ll be back!
The two waiters who we dealt with were very friendly. I love that the owner is on site, going out of his way to treat your as if you were in his own dining room. The food was perfect as well.
Flavors are rich. Service with a smile and a friendly demeanor
This was my second time to Evita this week. I had the empanadas and spicy corn chowder. Both were very, very tasty. The best part of the evening was that my guest was Argentinian and had a great time chatting to the Argentinian manager, Michael. He told me that his shnitzel tasted exactly like it did back home in Buenos Aires. This is now my restaurant of choice to bring guests.
Great place! Fantastic service, quiet ambiance , diverse menu, quick service and delicious food!!!
I love Evita. First, the food is delicious. Michael, the manager is the best. So friendly, always willing to go the extra mile for me. The waiters are friendly. The atmosphere is relaxed with a real buzz too. Plus they are open late so if you need something kosher late at night, they are the only show in town. Highly recommended.
Poor service with fixed tipping of 18% poor quality of steak and not cooked correctly. Poor location.
We went to Evita's for the first time the other night and will definitely be going back. Portions are huge, we ended up getting an appetizer and dinner, and packed portions of both to take home. Everything was delicious, well-cooked, well-seasoned. The meat was tender and yummy. We loved the ambiance - nice enough for "date night" but also family friendly. Roomy enough between tables so that you don't feel like you are sitting on top of someone else and can have a private conversation.
Loved it!! Bringing my grown children the next time they are in town!
Our server was attentive. Food choices were limited to 3 or 4 entrees. We had empanadas for an appetizer. I had vegetable soup with beef. I had only a small speck of beef in my soup. We both had ribeye steaks which were cooked well. Sides were also cooked well. Neither were delicious but both were adequate. My meal arrived lukewarm at best though. I had the lava cake for dessert. I didn't know it would come with raspberry sauce, which I hate. Also, the lava cake was similar to what is served also at another well known kosher restaurant in town. The environment was a little loud. The acoustics don't allow for much privacy if a large or loud party is present. Also, parking is inadequate, although because of timing, we were able to snag street parking close by.
The food was excellent. Waiter was polite, patient and informative. Service, bus boy, was also excellent. We had no leftovers, a 1st for us. They checked back with us and helped with other things as well in a most pleasant manner. ( I use a cane)
The food was outstanding as well as the wait staff.
The noise level was high and children didn't help the situation so conversaton at one's table was difficult. For the price one is paying, I would expect better noise control. That disappointed me greatly and I was frustrated throughout the meal because of one particular unruly child. That alone would make me hesitate about returning as I want to be able to converse with my friends without raising my voice.
The 16% service charge that is automatically put on your bill should be removed. It is not up to the establishment as to how much to tip.
Food was very good. Very expensive. Waiter and, I think owner, were delightful, friendly and helpful.
Good food, good service, higher than average prices.
Enjoyed our experience, especially the empanadas and the special kosher ribs--pricey, but a rare treat! Waitstaff were very friendly, though service felt a little rushed at times. Great kosher experience.
Very good. Phenomenal empanadas. We started with the appetizer sampler with a family of five and were very full. But we ordered steaks and they were amazing. The chocolate lava cake was great and so was the churro ice cream bowl dessert.
Great steak! Churro dessert was outstanding. Excellent, attentive service.
Very good food. Excellent service.
Fantastic service and very hand-on owner. Michael immediately makes you feel at home and as an old acquaintance.
My only complaint was they ran out of their beef rib special and did not have mojitos as they ran out. Last time we were there with friends they didn't have something as basic as an expresso coffee. Our reservation was at 6:30PM, certainly not late in the evening. I think this is a problem Evita has and should be addressed. We came with family this visit and friends last visit, neither of whom keep kosher. Not a positive when they can eat at any restaurant they like as they do not have any dietary restrictions.
Great food, great service! Always have a great experience. Thank you!
There are so many favorites at this steakhouse. We are never disappointed!!
Very nice staff and the food was delicious!!! The service was a little slow (especially since we were one of only two dinner parties), but they were definitely friendly. And they included gratuity on our check (for just 2 people). I would have given more than 18%. Oh well.
With my wife and mother in law.
great food-great time-very festive-great service-great hours!!
This is the worst restaurant we have gone to in years, while being severely overpriced. Low quality of the meats, not fresh either, frites frozen and out of a bag, then thrown into old oil, bread very old and they charged for a replacement. It is obvious that their are cutting every corner possible at the expense of quality.
But service was worse: I am not a complainer at all, am always cordial with the service staff, and leave a 20% tip regardless of experience. The waiter wanted to go home on a slow Thursday and the manager took over the service shortly after we ordered. What was irritating and disrespectful is that he added the tip he decided to slap on the bill without telling me. I would’ve left more, but his attitude showed a complete lack of manners and professionalism. It also embarrassed a paying customer in front of their guest -in my case my girlfriend. Quite horrible. These people are complete amateurs and had no idea that they had a trained chef at their table.
I hope that they understand now that their business is suffering due to the attitude and the lack of care. There is no question that they will understand when it becomes too late. In the meantime, at the very least it’s a good idea to show respect to people by increasing the quality of the food they are ingesting and don’t rip off their hard earned money. They don’t deserve to stay in business and will be receiving none of my business for sure. Caveat emptor.
The ambience was non-existent and the filet a bit on the tough side for $55! Also the wine list left much to be desired, just because it's kosher doesn't mean it has to be a tiny, boring wine list!
