Fallon & Byrne - Exchequer Street Wine Cellar
Food is absolutely amazing but our waiter came to our table half way through our main course to give us the dessert menus to rush order if we wanted anything as the kitchen was closing, this was only at 8:30pm and interrupted our dinner making it less enjoyable. The place is very cold some of our party kept their coats on and finally the bathrooms were in absolutely vile condition they clearly hadn’t been cleaned at all that day
Great place for a festive night! Hard to hear but lots of fun and very good food and wine.
pleasant staff could not make up for extremely slow service and inferior food
pretty awful experience I'm sorry to say
Had the ‘Full Works’ charcuterie board and a bottle of wine! Absolutely delicious! Great atmosphere !
Great wine, great service, great food.
Would recommend making a reservation so as not to be disappointed.
Kudos to the service staff, excellent service and great knowledge of the wines "on the shelf"
Only downside, and it's only a minor one, no soft furnishings makes it very loud. But one glass of wine in you and that doesn't matter anymore.
Love this place.
Great service and good wine. The €1 corkage on Sundays is a great idea
We are regulars to Fallon & Byrne - Exchequer Street Wine Cellar and often come to enjoy some good wine and food. I think this is the first time the service was absolutely disastrous. The table was booked for 3 people, girls night out. When we arrived the table was set for 2. Waiter brought us cutlery ( no glasses) we made the order and she brought the bottle ( still no extra glasses) we had to ask for it 3 times. White wine ordered was not chilled, no ice bucket. Waiter didnt offer to try/taste the wine before pouring and just left it on the table. We had to chase her multiple times when we wanted to order extra water, food or desert . No attention to the table when the food was finished. We sat with empty plates for ages. To be fair we have been in the wine cellar multiple times, I think this was the worse experience in terms of service so far.
A great restaurant and night. On Mondays and Tuesdays, you can grab a bottle of wine off the shelve and only pay a one euro corkage fee, which is excellent. Also, the food was delicious; the mixed board was great to get the truffle honey added for a lovely treat. Also, the potato wedges with the basil aioli were marvelous.
The overall experience was good. However within earshot, actually in a very loud voice, one of the staff correct another in quite a stern manner. This should not have happened in front of customers. He should have been spoken to somewhere else. A very disappointing aspect of the venue was the bathrooms! They badly need refurbishment. The doors of the cubicles were dirty and scraped. They need repainting. The toilet seat which was supposed to be white was so dirty, stained brown underneath the actual seat, it was disgusting. It was like being transported to a dingy one star public toilet. My husband was equally unimpressed with the gents! The soap and hand lotion were the only nice things in the ‘loo’ experience!
Very pleasant evening! Food and wine great! Noise started to rise about 9.pm! Time to go!!
Will go back soon!!
Fallon & Byrne Wine Cellar is an outstanding venue. Great food, great wine and a great atmosphere.
Very good service, pretty good food and very good wine list.
Everything was lovely! The food and wine. I just found the high stools uncomfortable, when sitting on them for a period of time.
Birthday celebration for group of 8 ladies. Fun night with lovely food and excellent service.
Great food, great atmosphere, very comfy spot with very good food, wine and ambiance,
Service was terrible.
Cheese and wine, well you can’t really go wrong with that, cab you!
My husbands fish was burned and so were his chips.
Not sure we’d go back in a hurry!
Just lovely, quality wine & food, fantastic service with a smile
Great food, lovely staff, very good value but deafeningly loud!
They let me book for 1000 hours. double checked if bank holiday will effect the times but no mention of it. Poor service and will never book again.

The food and the atmosphere were really good! The wine was really nice as well, but way overpriced in my opinion.

Excellent service. All being enjoyed by the young and old, couples, friends and all
Hi Ashley, Thank you for reviewing our wine cellar, we're so happy you enjoyed your meal with us. We hope to see you again sometime soon!
A lovely evening in a fantastic venue. Our waiter was hugely knowledgable and helpful.
Very disappointing experience.
Waited over 45 minutes for our order to be taken, despite our attempts to call a server over. She gestured several times she’d be 5 minutes.
We waited over 20 minutes for our wine to be brought over. Our waitress had forgotten.
The we asked to pay, they gave us the bill but it took them another 30 minutes to come over to us, despite trying to get the attention of the staff.
A lot of time spent waiting around. The food was nice but didn’t make up for the time we spent having to get the attention of staff.
Amazing night such a lovely time in the wine cellar looking forward to the next night
The food and wine are good. The staff are friendly but there was some issue and our booking wasn't on their list. They had one table free anyway that in their own words was bad, beside the toilets and a leak in the roof, until they realised we had an actual booking via OpenTable once I showed them it and they had missed something. After that the table wasn't that bad in their opinion. Stuck on a Saturday night we took it. Very friendly staff but put a sour tone on the whole night.
Didn’t realize I couldn’t get a spirit drink in the cellar
The wine cellar has a relaxed atmosphere and friendly, helpful staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal which was very tasty. We were not hurried at all, which was good as the portions were a fair size. We left feeling repleat and chilled.
Beautiful atmosphere, lovely and helpful staff, tasty food
Really nice place, good food, service a little slow tho’
Lovely atmosphere, really nice Italian waiter who recommended great wine, will keep coming back.
The basement venue is a 'classic' Friday night meet up place (other nights too of course, but Friday feels especially magical and warm!) for wine and light food in the basement setting. Superb ambience (if pretty loud as voice echo, so don't come expecting a very quite space, becaus it isn't). The starters while not cheap are the best value and extremely tasty and the fish soup is incredible. The wine selection by the glass in surprisingly limited although three of the wines I had by the glass tasted incredible. The prices per bottle are very expensive and don't come up expecting a cheaper, entry level bottle because you won't get on. They all kick in from €40-50. The staff are lovely and low key.
Booked a table midweek in the afternoon so the bar was relatively quiet. This gave us a chance to speak to the staff about the wines and they were very friendly and helpful. Some of the group were vegan and were delighted with the vegan menu, although suggested that perhaps some more vegan wines could be made available. This venue is great for groups or couples, will definitely be back!
Good wine though the mark up on some is really high. Food good service friendly and knowledgeable. Loud in cellar and a bit drafty. Would go again.
Really lovely evening spent in F&B! The cheese, nibbles and wine was delicious! When we got the bill we were a bit disappointed to find out we got charged corkage after the waiter had recommended other wines to the few on the menu.. a more extensive wine list would be great.
F&B Wine Cellar was a haven of cool and quiet from a hot and extremely busy Dublin Sunday afternoon.
Waiters were attentive would be intruding.
A good unhurried meal after the excesses of a long walking tour of Dublin streets.
