Midweek morning, one of first customers. With retired father-in-law and spouse. Restaurant was half full, but still not enough servers. Plus a training shift. Staff were professional and friendly.
Everything was great. However, a server took my full plate of food away while I was signing my check. I had begun putting it in a box but it was taken away while I paused, which was frustrating.
Great menu and drinks!
Food and drinks were good! Drinks were a little pricy. Love that they distill their own spirits but it made a basic gin and tonic a similar price to a fancier cocktail.
The brunch buffet had amazing + high quality breakfast + lunch foods. Was so impressed. Our server was very attentive and super nice! Will definitely be back.
Our server Marina was great but the buffet was not refilled regularly and was always empty and neglected which was disappointing. The eggs florentine was not served for 40 minutes till our server and went and got it from the kitchen. Overall it would have been nice if we could have tried the fish and other dishes but it was all slow to be refilled. The scrambled eggs were awful and dried out. Disappointed.
The brunch has gone down hill dramatically. The breakfast sausages on heat lamps were so dry, they black and crumbled apart. The meats on the heat lamps were like leather. The salads were good, the same as usual. We had to wait forever for coffee. We had to ask the waitress about pancakes and other items we can order, she did not tell us. We waited over 30 minutes for the pancakes that must have been sitting because they were dry and the butter was melted in a pool on the plate. It’s hard to say this because we love the Founding Farmers group, but both the food and service sucked bad.
Each of the Farmers locations has its own unique personality/ambiance. We went to the one near Chinatown twice in one week. I think the Sunday brunch is the showstopper. But the desserts, salads and virgin drinks on the regular menu were very impressive. There is no shortage of impressive eateries in DC. Farmers is a must-visit.
Almost the first night out post pandemic and Farmers & Distillers was a hit. Everyone was friendly and helpful and the food and drink was tasty. We sat outside because the weather was perfect and the inside was chilly from the air conditioning. (Normal DC summer rules - if it is hot outside, the buildings have to cold inside!) They were busy but everything arrived in reasonable time. Although I am not a fan of the online menu trend, it helps when you want to order a second drink so I could easily check the menu. The only off note were the desserts. I forgot restaurants deliver desserts designed to be eaten by three people! They were tasty but may have been a little stale. If you order your desserts with a little more caution than we did, everything should be great.
Good times love the sweet potato egg rolls
Food was good however service was not great. Took 15 minutes to get our soft drinks. Server couldn't make recommendations on food.
Bummer. :( I am so sorry our service failed to deliver this time. :( I'd appreciate the chance to follow and ask you to please email me a copy of your review, date dined & location: Amy@FRG.Farm. Thank you and I hope to turn this around. -Amy
It was OK. Cocktails taste very good, but more like a juice cocktail. Food was OK, nothing exciting.
Thank you, Tay for your review and I am very sorry to read this visit left something to be desired. :( I'd appreciate the chance to follow up further and ask you to please email me a copy of your review, date dined & location: Amy@FRG.Farm. -Amy
Waited 10 minutes for a server. Put our order in and waited an hour
Most things on the buffet were flavorless and dried out. The macaroni and cheese was great, but after that it was all disappointing. There were some ahi bites that were decent, if a little sweet. The meats from the carving station were definitely dried out and disappointing. The cocktails were delicious, but at $12 per drink on top of a $30 buffet - it wasn’t a great value. We were really hoping for more given that this place features on several of the best brunch lists for DC.
Thank you, Jane for sharing your brunch review and I am very sorry the food & drink(s) fell short this time. :( I'd appreciate the chance to follow up with you and ask you to please email me a copy of your review, date dined & location: Amy@FRG.Farm. -Amy
Ate outside - best to go when the shade has already spread to all tables. As always, excellent food. Brunch is back to being self-served, with a wide variety of foods. Breakfast items are delicious, but a bit limited (2 types of scrambled eggs, french toast).
Quality service. For meat eaters, be sure to ask for the bacon lollipops.
Table wasn’t ready at reserved time. Table was so close to our neighbors that we couldn’t hear our own conversation. Spent 10 min at table and had to flag down someone to notice us because no one had ever come over to greet us or take drink orders. Crab cake was ABSOLUTELY horrible. Waitress & gentleman she was training were excellent and very polite and accommodating. Drinks were fantastic!
Always a great time
Absolutely incredible all around!
Food was okay, nothing out of this world. Service was nice, drinks were pretty good. I got the Mai Tai. Would diversify the desert menu and offer better entrees. Location is nice, central to downtown DC. Would prefer Founding Farmers over this location.
Weekday breakfast and weekend brunch have yet to disappoint. Parents always mention this place when visiting from out of town. Bakery items are fresh and delicious! Give it a try! I don't think you'll be disappointed.
The server wasn’t focused, the manager had to significantly adjust our bill. Such a shame because typically this place is great.
