Fogo de Chao - San Jose

It's ok, but it used to be much better? I remember that the swords were coming by constantly. This round they basically gave us a choice of each of the dishes, then forgot completely about us.
Loud... felt rushed... overpriced
All staff was very professional and friendly. Unfortunately is a construction going on and the noise was too much. Also service was a little slow.
Excellent service, great food.
Fun dining experience...lots of choices and great service. Perfect for celebration and lots of outdoor seating options.
Servers were not attentive and we spent a great deal of time waiting for meats and other sides to come by. Dessert came out with heavily melted ice cream and silverware for dessert was sitting in the whipped cream so we couldn’t use them. Waited for server to replace them, while ice cream melted even more. Also, one of the the dessert spoons had a hard chunk of something dried on it that I was not able to pry off with a knife... seriously disgusting that it was sitting in the dessert. Server was not empathetic, didn’t offer to replace. and just kept going with business as usual. To go dessert was prepared incorrectly and after waiting for 10 min for server to return, we gave up and left. Disappointed in this visit.
The service is a real challenge with the Gen Yers and Millenials at the helm, but the food is simply amazing. Worth the frustration of laggard inattentive service!
Food was really good. All the meats were well seasoned. Service was good. My only complaint was that until we were done with the meal we didn’t receive any lamps chops which was the only request we had. The lamb chops came after the table was cleared and the bill was paid. I just which that at least the servers came back to let us know if it will not be coming out soon or any updates at all would have been nice.
Great Service and food overall. Ambience could have been better. We were placed in the outside garage area in the back, even with reservations. Would have expected better seating.
The food was very good, as expected. Fogo de Chao even has a tasty "cauliflower steak" for vegetarians.
The staff was obviously working diligently to keep up with COVID demands as the status had changed to outdoor dining the same day we had planned to dine there. They did a very admirable job all around.
Now here is the twist:
I had made reservations on Open Table for outdoor dining for a party of four. When we arrived, the hostess walked us past all the patio tables (all were occupied) and continued in to the indoor parking garage where a small number of tables had been set up with gleaming white tablecloths and little "reserved" signs. Right next to a parked giant SUV.
I was shocked! The smell of rubber and engine oil was pervasive as was the noise of cars driving around in the garage. I would not eat a hot dog in this space, let alone a fine meal. I told the hostess to find us another table in a normal outdoor area and she did with just a minor delay.
Our server Rafael and the manager of the day are so attentive to our needs and they really practice safety to prevent covid spread.
This was not my first time coming here, but I was sadly disappointed in the service I received. After finishing eating we wanted to order dessert, but waited almost an hour before our waiter finally decided to help us. Not only that we had to go out of our way get someone to helps us. Food was amazing and forever plentiful, just wish the waiter would have been more present.
Cold. I strongly suggest that this restaurant improves outdoor heating as we move into colder months.
Customer Atire!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The restaurant needs to set standards on Customer dress code. This is a nice restaurant and people walk in with t shirts, shorts, windbreaker. This is embarrassing.
The restaurant would not lose business at all if they enforced it. Thanks
The bartenders are the best & make great drinks. We had a sidecar and an old fashioned before our big party arrived. Full bar with the game on was the first highlight and then our company was the best. Service wise the team does everything they can during these Covid times. Meat was over cooked, really tragic food wise but dessert was a good treat.
We really enjoyed ourselves. Portions were great for brunch. I am not a meat eater, but my Sisters and cousin definitely got full off of all the meat selections. And there were plenty of them. They indulged several beef selections, chicken, pork and lamb.
I had all seafood. Lobster, shrimp and sea bass. There were lots of table side side dishes. My favorite was the grilled and steamed asparagus.
There was so much food for them, that I kinda felt left out because the servers kept coming.
All in all we’d go back again for some tasty eats!!!
A very good COVID-19 setup to keep people safe
And all you can eat market table is not much good when you can’t go to the market table and get what you want and instead you have to try and explain what you want to very young and inexperienced wait staff.
Had dinner outside on a Tuesday evening, not too crowded. Kind of sad they didn’t have the chicken hearts, I was really looking forward to them. The cheese with honey was the highlight of our night... and the flank steak :)
Went to Fogo de Chao in Santana Row for the first time. All it all it was pretty good. Would I go back....probably not but if you've never experienced a Brazilian Steakhouse then Fogo would be a good choice.
Nice place. Delicious food. Good service
Pricy a bit.
They didn’t do anything unique for the birthday gal although we told them in the reservation it’s birthday dinner
Wonderful night
Great service! Had the Wagyu New York Strip Steak which was INCREDIBLE, along with the Churrasco experience. Our waiter was attentive and provided great service for us.
Came in for dinner with my family and was treated so well by everyone at Fogo. They have some of the best customer service around aside from the great food. 10/10 recommend.
Server provide salad bar items to your table. The experience is better than ever.
I celebrated my birthday and it was the best place to celebrate. food was great. service was great. place was great. we enjoyed everything. thank you!!!!
Outstanding !! I would highly recommend this restaurant...
By far this is the best place I have been to. Be prepare to eat as mich as you can, you will want to taste everything.
Best meats served at the end even though we asked since we sat down.
The red meat (beef) was the best of all, specially the "costilla", and the only 2 sides which were really good were the fired bananas with polenta and the mashed potatoes. I will only recommend the restaurant for the meat.
Wine was bought almost after we finish having dinner (so we eat with no wine, just water); professional waiters should know that they cannot bring the food to the table if the wine is still missing; waiter needs to clean/wash his hands (and under his nails please!) before service is offered and do not touch the paper menus all the time while explaining the system. We were never offered the rice and beans which was included in the price, and the salads were quite poor. All that needs to improve.
Outdoor seat is next to parking lot’s door.... really uncomfortable
The food was great, Food, the service was top of the line. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends.
First off even though the patio was completely empty and we had a 530 reservation we were seated by the curb probably 6 inches away from passing cars. Secondly we were served our meat entrées before salads. When the salads did finally come we weren’t giving clean plates instead of the salad was put on top of the steak which saturated the salad. We were never offered any vegetables even though we requested vegetables they never came. Our waitress was awesome however the experience was terrible for the amount of money we paid for the experience which obviously was horrible. Very disappointing since I’ve been to this restaurant in other places across the US but the one here on Santana Row was certainly the worst. I understand we’re trying to work with Covid but this was ridiculous
It was a nice time, only didn’t like how close to the street some of the tables are. It was chilly and the cars were very loud. Super delicious food though!
Went during COVID. Will definitely come back to try the salad bar experience b/c even though servers were bringing out their options for you to try I've been to other steakhouses like Taurinius who have amazing salad bars with buffet portions. Having them bring it to you means you get less food and less options. Understand that needs must while social distancing, however.
Meat was amazing, of course, and service was impeccable. They were also able to get us seated though we arrived half an hour early for our reservation, which was a plus. They seated us in this overflow area off to the side. Not the best accommodations and I did see one or two groups ask for different seating. My family wasn't so picky and the servers were very attentive throughout so I don't think we were neglected at all.
Terrible service
My birthday
The outdoor/pandemic experience was fine. W/exceptions to a limited salad bar, the experience was as expected. Although staff added an extra item to my bill which I caught after payment, they took care of the issue by offering me a GC.
Great food! Fantastic selection of different cuts and types of meat prepared perfectly! We have visited now several times and although the pandemic made our last experience "different" (mandatory masks, no salad bar, seating configurations etc) the quality of the food and service were thankfully unchanged! Food and service were both as good as ever and our server Mariline was warm and friendly and happy to see us back! We'll definitely be returning soon! Bonus tip: Vegan options are very limited ;)
Great first time experience. Food was good just not as readily available as I would like. We had a party of 6 and the food skewer brought to us was only enough to feed 4 of us at a time so some had to wait.
Other than that, it was fun to do. I would visit again.
