Our waiter was fabulous--super friendly and helpful. The food was hot and a lot of variety. Some things were a bit too salty and some items had no flavor. Overall, a wonderful brunch.
I went for the brunch and eventhough I was not disappointed, I feel the price may be too high based on the offerings. Not sure that I will ever go back for weekend brunch but I will definitely go back for the regular menu options for lunch, dinner or weekday breakfast.
We had a really solid server, and despite a pretty busy night, our food moved fast and was accurate. That said, the kitchen was a far cry from my previous experiences in Tyson's. We had a party of four. Three folks found the food far too salty. None the dishes were plated with care, and the overall food experience was disappointing. I love the mission of Founding Farmers, I appreciate the effort they put into their customer service (which remains excellent), but I was really disappointed by the quality of our food. Unfortunately, we're highly unlikely to either visit again or recommend this chain to others. We just don't have the money to get disappointed by a $100 dinner. The great staff and good ambience make me disappointed to write a negative review. Sorry guys.
Love the tuna poke app!
I got the cedar plank salmon and it is delicious. I love the root vegetables that come with it.
We always get the affogato for dessert. If you've never had it you should try!
We went on a weekend which means the buffet. The food was awesome. The choices were too many.
There is something for every palate. I did over eat because it was all delicious! Our server was also very engaging and fun.
Our server Christian was wonderful! It was my son's birthday and he was a delight to ensure we had a good food experience. The other servers brought great food for us to try. It was an amazing experience for us.
This is my second time at this location and again, the hot food was cold, they didn’t refill many stations for long periods of time, and the service was terrible. Getting coffee refills took forever and the coffee here tastes burnt compared to the amazing coffee at the Tyson’s location. The servers act like they are so busy, but it’s a buffet! At least the first visit had better service and they tried to make things right, but they shouldn’t have to do so -it should be right to start. The Tyson’s location is so much better.
Everything was amazing. Brittany was an all star. The neighboring servers were warm and kind.
For Brunch they have a number of flavorful dishes and unique finds. The pancakes are definitely a must.
The food was good, but healthy choices were limited. Nice atmosphere and valet parking is available.
Service was very slow and the food was not as good as the other Founding Farmer's in the area. Seemed as if the staff could not handle a full bar and restaurant at the same time. Slow delivery of drinks and food was cold when it arrived at the table.
My salad was VERY salty.
It took quite a while to receive our food, I almost ran late for my next meeting (was not the waiter’s fault). Overall I was still pleased
It would have been nice to know what was available before we ordered. We had a group of 7 and had to change our order on 3 separate occasions because they ran out of the ingredients? With that happening, it delayed our order even longer. Customers who were seated after us somehow got their food before we did. I reccomend that you let your customers what is available before they make decision.
Because of an impeccable visit in Sept to the Reston location, I took my 4 person work team to the Tyson's location for Thanksgiving and this location for Christmas lunch. I was disappointed in both experiences- I will not provide details of the Tyson's visit while reviewing the current visit to Reston. It appeared mgmt. had not provided the necessary amount of wait staff (there were a number of office holiday gatherings taking place at this time also)as our waiter seemed quiet hurried. We had to tell him we did not receive one of our appetizers (he graciously removed it from the bill). We waited for what seemed a long time for our food to arrive and one of our team had an afternoon appointment which once we brought this to attention, all the food came out within :05. The waiter brought us two desserts that were not on our bill. He tried to make it right, and I believe he worked as hard as he could with what appeared to be limited staff. Kudos to the waiter, not so much the restaurant.
Food was good. It took a very long time for our food to come out. Long wait for appetizers and then again for main dishes.
OK place. About as pretentious as the FF in DC. The food was reasonably good, not outstanding. The server was sub-par. She kept trying to push shared bites, even when we said that was not of interest. It took forever to get cocktails that had been ordered. We made it clear that we did not want to order until we had our drinks. She ignored our request and kept badgering us. There's more to complain about, but I suspect she'll flame out.
I love this restaurant, not only for the great food but also for the amazing service. I will definitely be returning.
The food was very good but the drinks were small, weak and expensive.
Food was good!
Our waitress was very pleasant.
Hostess was not welcoming nor helpful at the end with our parking pass.
Really loved dining here! I've always enjoyed Founding Farmers' food, but I definitely prefer their dessert and coffee. I've had three different types of lattes with them and they're all incredible! I'm also a tiny bit obsessed with their chocolate ice cream (dark and handmade). So, I would say come for the food...but definitely stay for the dessert and coffee! :)
Best Rueben sandwich I’ve ever has. Don’t understand why those potatoes accompany the sandwich.
We were seated in the Bar, wish hostess had asked us for our preference!
Our food was excellent. We each ordered something different and each of us enjoyed our meal. The service was dot-dot-dot okay. We waited a half an hour from sitting down to be served. Our server you seem to be occupied with other tables, and never noticed that we were ready to place our order. By the time we ordered, some of the food items were no longer available.
The restaurant was extremely busy with at least one large party. As a result, our service was very slow and our server was almost non-existent. Additionally, a neighboring table was housing participants from the larger event and the aisle and surrounding area became a meeting place for those participants and people's back sides were backed up against our table with a lot of loud talking, etc. They were waiting for another table to open up, but their socializing in the aisle not only blocked servers, but was very disruptive to our meal and ability to enjoy our designated space. The servers/management should have asked those parties to wait elsewhere. The kale/quinoa salad w/salmon was a disappointment and overpowered by the vinegar dressing. There was less than one whole date in the salad and no pecorino at all. The salmon was well prepared, however, and the only good aspect of the salad. The food is usually very good at this restaurant, so this salad was disappointing. Glad to see the popularity of this restaurant, but time management of servers during busy periods needs attention; and, accommodating guests who are waiting for seating requires an improved process.
Absolutely loved my birthday meal here. Friends have been telling me to come here since I moved from out of state a few months ago and I finally made it in with my parents. We were not disappointed. Menu is a bit overwhelming but I don’t think you can pick wrong. Service was a tad slow but she was really nice and we weren’t in a rush. Definitely recommend and can’t wait to try the brunch!
The lighting in most areas were dark, not enough light on the table directly or mis-aligned, asked service to correct so that everyone seated could see the menu clearly, didn’t happen...manager should have found another booth and table to seat our party
Service was great. Some of the food items, macaroni and cheese and rice were cold. Items that ran out, were stocked pretty quickly.
We attended the brunch. Have been to the restaurant fro dinner and really enjoyed it. However, the brunch food was mostly lunch food. Could order and egg dish but ours was never delivered and we had to re-order. Desserts (especially donuts were excellent), but rest of the food was so-so. Also, at one point the line ran out of the food area into the main restaurant. This felt very uncomfortable and no one around seemed to be hanging the process in the food area.
I’ve been to FF at both their Tyson’s and Potomac locations and the menu in Reston is my favorite.
Nice table, food delicious but not hot enough, service was spotty.
Food was cold. Service was rushed. Drinks arrived with the meal which was cold and fatty.
Had really outstanding service at the Reston Station location of Founding Farmers. The food was exceptionally good as well. We loved the crab and artichoke dip and the fried green tomatoes apps. The sauce with the fried green tomatoes was a tarragon and avocado sauce which was fabulous! Two of us had the chicken pot pie which was probably the best one we have ever eaten and one of us had the Impossible Meatloaf, the vegetarian treat. We all had to try it and nobody could believe how good it was. Will definately order this next time. Really different food and really lovely restaurant.
The food was good and the service friendly, polite and under trained. Drinks were slow in coming but the food arrived in good time. Our table for five was comfortable and the noise level was low enough that we could converse easily. The menu advertises locally sourced, high quality ingredients. The dishes, however, seemed over-engineered and the chef or the marketing department has a fascination with donuts. We stuck to the simpler selections. The burger and grilled patty melt and fries were good, the butternut squash ravioli was very good and the seven cheese macaroni was okay. Prices are moderate, but not as moderate as you might think--even a piece of bread for the table is an extra charge. If you are taking the Metro, it is a convenient and nice place to eat. If you are driving and parking, it is a nightmare of bad signage and confusing directions.
We both ordered a different hamburger and they were outstanding! Very flavorful and filling. My wife had a small salad that was fresh and tasty. I had fries and they were excellent.
The food was lovely, although they need to do a better job replenishing the brunch buffet. Also, they were out of every type of milk except whole. For a restaurant that goes out if its way to proclaim how excellent their dairy products are, it’s unacceptable to be out of most types of milk. The service was substandard. During brunch service, the server at a minimum needs to be checking on coffee refills.
Weekend brunch is pricey but well worth it. So many options and everything tastes great. Something for everyone, including those with a sweet tooth. Also a great selection of cocktails. The valet parking option is nice, especially on a cold day.
The brunch buffet had a wonderful variety so we were able to accommodate both vegetarians and meat eaters in our group. Our actual server was superb, but the server who brought us our check and helped clear the table was surprisingly abrupt and borderline rude, which ended our meal on a low note.
I really like this location. I've been to DC and tyson's and for brunch this is definitely the best spot. The food was incredible. I recommend ordering the florentine Benedict and tuna poke app that you can special order but comes with the brunch.
Arrived for a 7:45 reservation. Had to wait 30 minutes past our reservation to be seated. Food was excellent.
We had reservations for 7:30PM but we were not seated until 8PM. Waitress too a long time to come around to take our order. We ordered some appetizers and our main dish. Appetizers came out however we had no plates. We asked for plates but after about 10 minutes, I got up to get the plates myself. I ordered shrimp and grits...it was okay; I found the same entre to be better at the Tysons location. Our waitress was not attentive what so ever; service could not have been worst. I would not recommend this location.
I love founding farmers Reston and my experience there has always been great.
