Cheddar biscuits- best cocktails in Virginia- big screen ambiance in wonderful outdoor space and live music in the square!! Best place for Friday night out!!!
Went for the Impossible meatloaf…. Changed my mind at last moment to the scallops. Scallops were ok, Risotto was not fully cooked. Ordered a glass of wine that never arrived. That said, they accommodated me at an outside table at the last moment and my guest’s salad was reported to be excellent.
Very big portions, so come hungry! Love their menu, it’s very diverse and has something for everyone. Think seafood and southern comfort food with a modern flair. Service was great too, and the food was tasty.
I did not like th prime rib sandwich. Meat was overdone and fries were cold.
Waiter was very nice but I think he had too many tables to take care of. I understand the problem of not being able to hire folks!
First time there, loved the menu and the food . Only after I left I realized they never gave me my pimento cheddar biscuit with my brisket.
Overall I would give them a second try .

Service was friendly, courteous, and efficient. Food was delicious. Atmosphere was lively. Location was perfect for a stop on the way to Dulles airport.
The worst service I have ever received from a restaurant in my entire life, and this is without hyperbole. So many things went wrong. Also they gave my opentable reservation to someone else (not even affiliated with my party!!). My friend showed up before me and said someone claimed our reservation. Absolute garbage service. A high(?) and disappearing waitress. It took an hour to get our orders in and another 30-40 minutes to actually get the food. The waitress kept forgetting so many things (took 3 passes at our table to actually remember to bring my box). Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY.

Birthday outing for my 83 year old aunt. We had a group of 7 and all dietary preferences were accommodated. Delicious food and great atmosphere.
The food was horrible at brunch. It was not fresh and Luke warm. The buffet service was terrible. Our waiter was friendly but clearly overwhelmed. The bill was much more than was stated on the website. We expected 30 per person but were overcharged. Waste of money. Very upset because it was my sons birthday. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY

Been here twice, once for dinner and once for brunch. Servers are not very attentive or personable

Sunday brunch was okay, but not for the price. A lot of food had been under a heat lamp too long. Salmon and brisket were dry. French toast cubes were basically croutons. Bacon was good, sausage was good, salad was good. I also ordered a eggs Benedict which failed to materialize, but I wasn't charged for it. Server seemed way too busy, like he had too many tables.
The food was just not that good, even something simple like scrambled eggs. And very limited choices. Not much for vegetarian, GF or no carb eaters. For the price I expected way more. Servers were friendly but seemed inexperienced

You can’t go wrong with Founding farmers, everything they offer is great! We personally love their French toast with vanilla cream filling SOOO GOOD! 😊
Fish I ordered was spoiling and had an off putting smell. Asked for a manager who never came to ask what was happening.

Excellent service and food!!!
It was a pleasant evening to dine outside. The food arrived hot and was delicious. Our server, Ruth, had a wonderful and caring demeanor. During the whole time we were there, I could see how hard this staff worked to keep up with the demand of a busy Friday night. They did it with smiles and grace. We waited longer than expected to be greeted, give our order, get items requested (salt, pepper and refills), get the ordered dessert and get the check. Our dinner turned into a 3 hour adventure. I'm sure it would have been an hour shorter if there were enough employees on staff to handle the dinner rush. The staff did an amazing job as they did their best to keep up with the demand. I'd like to go back another time.
Had a reservation outside. We were told to wait by bench outside to be seated. After 20 minutes realized they forgot about us. They were somewhat busy but not crowded. Had to go back to hostess. They finally seated us. Then we waited for a server for another 20 minutes. We just wanted an after work wind down drink. Had to go ask for a waiter to come to our table. It was not my normal Founding Farmers experience. Drinks were good. Had crab artichoke dip. It was artichoke overload. I know there is a crab shortage but it was way too much artichoke. Needless to say I was very disappointed.
This didn't feel like farm to table. I had a better experience at the Tyson's location a few years ago.

A very mixed bag and dining experience. Table was ready when reserved (6:15), waiter was highly competent, drinks (What about Bob, Vodka/Soda) were very good (house made vodka). We started with the hot Crab and artichoke dip which was hot, tasty and had great toasted fresh sliced sourdough bread. Food was served on an acceptable timetable. My colleague ordered the Honey Thyme Chicken, it was well presented, had great flavors, and just the right amount of food.
I ordered the $23 Shrimp/Crab Louie, which on the 1-10 scale was a 2. I truly believe it was literally left over mixed salad from the lunch serving. It had no crab ("Sorry we were out"), the lettuce was limp and water soaked, the shrimp large but mealy, and the dressing was flavorless and unidentifiable. This salad had nothing to do with a shrimp Louie and was simply a bowl of must goes. Because we were on a schedule, I didn't return it but picked at the food.
What was otherwise a very nice evening became a don't recommend because that "salad" should never have come on to the floor. I did pass on my my comments to the waiter who was apologetic and said he would pass it on.
Bummer. :( We are so sorry the Shrimp/Crab Louie Salad left you supremely under-whelmed with your overall visit and caused you to not want to recommend us outside of what could've been an all star experience. I visited the restaurant to have a special lunch time with my mom. The interior was great and the staff was neat. I was surprised that the steak tasted better than DC. I think I will visit Reston often from now on.
Lovely drinks and the food was good. I had the steak and enchiladas and really enjoyed it.
The location is very convenient to Metro (Reston-East stop). Parking is a bit convoluted the first time - check their website as it will help with directions.
This May be an issue with not having enough Waiters due to COVID. Our Waiter was nice and did best he could with all of his tables. Everyone enjoyed their food; however my Brisket was very disappointing- good flavor, but primarily all fat.
Sitting outside was beautiful.

I came for Sunday brunch and they had a buffet (still during covid!). It was alright, $30 per person and it wasn't that glamorous. The food ran out pretty quickly because they had really small serving trays. Plus the buffet line was kind of slow. I wouldn't come back for the buffet but I love regular Founding Farmers!
Brunch buffet food was cold and not fresh at all. Not worth $30. Love founding farmers but will not do the brunch again.
The donuts and ice cream are especially amazing.
This was my first time dining at founding father’s. I’ve heard good things about this restaurant. I decided to go out to the Reston location which was an hour away from my residence. I do not know the name of my server; she was not wearing a name tag that I could see, and I do not recall her introducing herself. The service was horrible; she was very late with greeting my party, she was not attentive, and I had to wait extremely long periods to get my beverages and food. When my food arrived, my fries were overcooked and cold. I asked for new fries, which I received, but the latest batch was also cold. I was disappointed with my service, especially driving to a location that was so far from my residence. The manager was made aware of the situation, and the manager offered a desert of my choosing; this, however, does not make up for horrible service. Even though I left a tip, the waitress did not deserve it.

Went there for brunch with my daughters. Did not disappoint! Biscuits are amazing. French toast was to die for! Avocado toast not my fave but huge portions. Eggs Benedict were great too. Lovely ambiance. Overall a great brunch place!
Very good food at a reasonable cost. Brunch menu was interesting and the lunch/dinner menu expansive and fantastic. The Mojito Margarita was sublime.
Our waitress was great and the person she was training was excellent. I’ve visited the FF in the DC area and never had good experiences. I hoped this location would be better, but it was just as disappointing. Food came out cold and it took forever for drinks. I understand the food and service industry is spread thin right now, but now more than ever, the customers who are patronizing restaurants should get exemplary service.

The food came out cold. The waiter was terrible. It was impossible to just get a refill for iced tea.

We have been to others in this family of restaurants. This may be our favorite!
We enjoyed a wonderful dinner for our anniversary. Fun atmosphere & extensive menu. We plan to go back because there were so many things we want to try.

Great to be back in the restaurant. Food and Service were great.
Very insulted to see that there is a “5% surcharge” due to Covid. I know there are many other hard working restaurants that DO NOT charge this and appreciate their customers ! What really got us upset was not only did we have to pay this extra fee but the service was not the best!!! Really like the food here but resent this policy big time. We won’t be returning.
We were super disappointed during this visit, so much so that we will never return to this location. We arrived around 655pm. It took several minutes for our server to come take our drink and appetizer order. BUT then it took nearly 30minutes for the appetizers (deviled eggs and ahi tuna bites) to arrive. As if the wait itself wasn’t ridiculous, our server’s response was very lackluster (insert “well I don’t know what to tell you”). We simply asked for the check and left. We paid ~ $30 for 2alcoholic beverages and 2 kids drinks via contactless pay. As we depart the restaurant and make it outside, the manager goes so far as to question my husband about whether or not we paid our check. I am so disgusted.

Founding Farmers has a great menu and delicious food. Service is ok, but not outstanding. If you are not fussy about your service, are looking for an interesting menu with good food and a pleasant atmosphere, then Founding Farmers in Reston could be a good spot for you.
