Food terrific.Service erratic.
Perhaps 8.15 is a little late to book
This is a vibrant and elegant venue with delicious food. A city aura in lil ol Swan St ! Long overdue and most welcome judging by the crowd on a Tuesday night. Due to the demand staff do try and move you through pretty quick so don’t expect to linger. We will definitely return.
The food was great. We had a few issues with lighting - it kept dimming in the front room. We were also sitting near the front and had a really bright light shining in our eyes from the waitress front table.
Loved the food and atmosphere, but the music was just way too loud!
It was a great vibe but couldn't hear people I was dining with. Just a touch down on the music would be preferable, otherwise a great night out and outstanding food.
I've been to Future Future 6 or 7 times now and everyone always enjoys the food.
The waiters are helpful without being too pushy.
Would definitely recommend.
Casual dinner with friends. Sat on the high table in the back room. Delicious as always. The raw tuna and and the Swordfish skewers were our highlight.
Food quality is always excellent. Main chef is always there.
They have improved seating also
Great, looking forward to next dinner
The food was good but the service was poor with noth our food and drink orders wrong. Not really acceptable for a fairly expensive restaurant
The best Japanese food in Melbourne! Amazing space, awesome ambience and a super unique, memorable experience every time. The sando's are the best!
Business related lunch for three. Ordered a la carte. Everything was delicious. Chicken Karage and raw tuna my favourite.
food is very consistent and excellent especially fish dishes. Chief chef seems to always there which is an excellent sign. Staff are attentive generally . Pinot noir is good value and matches food well.
Lunch in the courtyard on a sunny Friday was perfect. Spritzs and Karage chicken was my highlight.
Yum! Gorgeous flavours
Favourite restaurant ...delicious food, great service can’t wait to go back
My favorite restaurant in Melbourne
Future Future has become my favourite restaurant...delicious food, great service just overall fantastic
Took my wife here for her birthday, the waitress was lovely, the music was even better! We went with the chef’s selection and it was amazing! My wife and I spoke about the food after and couldn’t choose which was the best dish
We loved everything about this place from the moment we were welcomed to when we left. Food was amazing, flavours were incredible. Definitely coming back
Terrible food and no value.
Amazing! Brought two friends from overseas/interestate and felt very proud to take them to such a cool place with delicious food, great atmosphere and service.
Really excited to see another great modern japanese place in Richmond for us locals. We went to celebrate a birthday, chose the chef menu option number 2. The food was superb we could not fault any of the dishes served. The drinks were also really good, nice selection of cocktails. Only one suggestion would be to add another main and perhsps small dish to acommpany because we were certainly not completely full ar the end, also felt the dessert at the end being just one small dish to share between two was not quite enough. So when comparing to orsering al carte, we questioned later the value versus the chefs menu. However we would return as the food is excellent!
Great experience, great food and atmosphere. Very warm service, would recommend and god back.
Great atmosphere, excellent service with lovely share plates.
We will definitely be returning.
A superb food and wine experience. It was a perfect location for a family reunion. The feeling was intimate and the service personal.
The food was absolutely fabulous. Future future is a hidden gem on crazy Swan st.
Everything we ordered was a taste sensation. I can't name one dish as a favourite as they were all amazing.
Definitely coming back.
This is the second time I've been to this restaurant. My partner couldn't remember being there the first time. My point being, this restaurant is not a stand out restaurant. It's good, but not wow amazing, you really have to try it for it's amazing food, blah. I would only recommend this restaurant to someone if they said they wanted to eat Japanese in Richmond, but at the same time, I'd be recommending other Japanese restaurants to give them the choice.
Love it hear. Food is always exceptional! Highly recommend
The group went for the Chef's menu ichi ban ($59pp) last night, which had a lovely variety of dishes and the servings were just right. The menu included a fresh cucumber starter, pumpkin agedashi tofu, raw kingfish (pictured), fried eggplant in chilli oil and dashi, fried chicken karaage (best I've had so far & I'm not a fried chicken person), meatball katsu-sando (pictured), salmon donburi and dashi green tea broth, a side of japanese greens, and a light matcha & sake tiramisu to end the night.
The Quealy MP Pinot Grigio matched beautifully with the food. The Fuji Sour cocktail was also delicious with it's fuji apple whisky. Definitely check it out, lovely vibes for a catchup or a date. 😉
Best restaurant in Melbourne, we had an amazing time and will be back!
Fabulous food great flavours and wonderful service - the restaurant has a terrific feel and we both loved it
Love the food here. Great service. Can't wait for the warmer weather to be able to sit in the outside space.
Fabulous food amazing French waitress and hostess extremely knowledgeable enthusiastic and very professional. We enjoyed our evening , great music innovative Japanese food . Beautiful wines great selection of sake . We will definitely be back , I have already recommended this restaurant to several friends and clients everyone has good things to say .
Restaurant is not as good as it was when opened. Sat in private room near kitchen- overwhelmed by smell of dishwashing liquid which smelt like bleach. Food expensive for what you get. Chicken skewers were not nice.
Tried here for our 10th anniversary. Overall pretty good but I wasn’t blown away. I would give it another try to see what the other items on the menu are like.
I thought sending people upstairs to wait in a room was a little odd especially as there were no staff up there to direct you or get you a drink while you wait (a waitress did come a little while after with some drinks but only when we had gone back down stairs to see what was going on). Also my bill was wrong (was sorted quickly when I pointed it out).
We got the Omakase for 2, it was pretty good, not as amazing as I had hope or as the reviews stated. I don't think it was good value for money based on what you got and the dessert was a let down. It was my companion's birthday and they bought out a tiny piece of tiramisu cake with a candle on it for us to share - it was smaller than your usual piece of cake. Would've been nice to finish with one of the desserts on the menu! Overall, average. Would I go back for the price? No.
The food took one away from the Japanese Classics with a twist towards a modern inclusion. The Sandos were great. The noise level a tad too high and one could do with keeping the music level lower.
Overall a good inclusion for the Richmond area.
Food was great. Had a nice little spot on the bar in front of the kitchen.
Service was good and attentive but really rushed us out at the end of our meal when we decided against ordering desserts or another round of drinks.
Loved it - great food and service. Highly recommend this restaurant if you're going in a smaller group
Best Japanese fusion with very good service. Will definitely comeback
