Garden State Hotel - Public Bar
Although we made a booking we rolled up early which wasn't a problem, it was our First time at Garden State, we were looking for a beer garden that served food on a Sunday and wasn't disappointed, loved the outside area, food was reasonably priced and beer was cold, spent 3 1/2 hours there on a sunny Sunday and would definitely return.
A bit disappointed with the service on the day. Seemed light on staff, which made wait times longer than expected. Had the Chicken Parma which was very unsatisfying. Great spot for drinks and catch up though!
We arrived for a late lunch. Sat down with drinks and entrees - then went to order lunch and were told that the kitchen closed t 3pm.... really ...? With no warning... then when we questioned this since it was not on the menu, we were told we should have checked the website...? Not really valued here as a customer I think.
Good food and a relaxed vibe. No table service in the public bar
Booked a table outside, for a table inside as private function on. Sat down at reserved table. Half hour later a staff member just slapped down another reserved sign and walked away. No explanation or asked how long we were staying. It was lunch time and at time of booking no mention was made of time restrictions. Bar service was very slow. Only one staff member was nice and friendly. Had to ask staff to wipe seats as they were sticky. She brought a tea towel and I had to wipe seats.
The food was great, the staff were awesome - a little noisy - but an enjoyable night out.
As expected for a Sunday afternoon drink. Nice ambience
Came for lunch on our lunch break. Ordered just after 1 and food arrived 1.40/1.45 which was disappointing given it wasn’t an overly busy lunch period
Magnificent place to go with a group of friends or just as a couple. Staff were so friendly, service was outstanding. Great selection of cocktails and value for money. I would recommend this place to anyway and already looking forward to going back.
We visited on a Sunday which was a quiet day, so that was good. Only problem I had, was that the booth we had near the bar. It was so dark I found it hard to eat my lunch, so perhaps more lighting is required in that area. Otherwise a nice place.
It was a lovely day so a lovely setting to sit and have lunch.
We had a waitress (young with long blond hair) and she was just gorgeous. Bubbly and friendly and acted like nothing was too much trouble, she went out of her way to ensure we had a lovely lunch.
A couple of friends ordered from the Kiosk and that was great, but others who ordered from the main restaurant waited over 1 hour, so we ate at a different time. I would recommend the place for drinks but not for a work lunch due to the delay with the food. This also has happened on at least another two occasions, not coming back.
Very accommodating for business lunch with good food and service.
Awesome pub, great food and sick place for a beer. Some staff were really helpful but one girl was really not happy to be at work and made each order difficult. Still would highly recommend this pub!
as I posted on facebook, food, service, atmosphere was perfect for a lunch catch up. Thanks Lisa Murray
Food was of an excellent standard, and the selection great. Loved how you are able to pre-order should you be going for lunch weekdays. Would highly recommend
Great vibe and we all enjoyed the food and drinks !
Went on fathers day. Love the greenery and design. Unfortunately the service was lacking in the pub section. A few staff totally mucking around and getting our order wrong. Ordered two of the same meal and they were completely different sizes as well.
We arrived on time for the booking at 11am however the kitchen was not open until 12 so we had over 15 people waiting for food for an hour with no prior notice that this would be the case. Disappointing.
Our family of 4, 2 younger children, enjoyed our meal and time at Garden State Hotel. The menu caters for kids and the place gets fairly busy/noisy around dinner time, but a great environment and seems to be a favorite for early 20's.
Best to book.
