About

The Gladstone Hotel is a boutique art hotel featuring 37 unique hotel rooms designed by Canadian artists. Formerly one of Toronto's railway inns, this red-brick Romanesque Revival-style mansion’s restoration triggered the rebirth of now-bustling West Queen West and functions as a neighbourhood hub for creators, free spirits and tenants of counterculture from near and far. The hotel is known for its dynamic venue spaces, rotating art exhibitions, farm-to-table dining options and year-round cultural programming. As Canada’s only B-Corp certified hotel, the Gladstone is committed to environmental sustainability and socially conscious practices: choosing local value-align suppliers throughout the hotel, committing to 100% green energy through Bullfrog Power and actively supporting local artists, makers and creative entrepreneurs.

What a wonderful way to spend a Sunday. My friend and I booked a table at the Sunday Drag Brunch yesterday the 23rd February, 2020. Miss Moco was the host and she had a special guest Betty.
Firstly the food was wonderful and the ambiance was great but the stars of the day were Miss Moco and Betty. We had so much fun that I didn't want it to end. So much so that I booked again for another Sunday. I highly recommend this event. I would go every Sunday if I could.
Miss Moco is a star, drop dead gorgeous, funny and brings everyone together in the audience. Please don't stop this event, this is the best event in the city. :-)

We didnt realize we were booking for a prefix Valentine's dinner, but that may have been our bad, so we went with the flow. We were orginally seated a foot away from the stage which made it really difficult to have a conversation due to the cello and violin duo. While they moved us to a new seat we were squeezed in between two other couples. Both options felt jammed and not conducive to good conversation. The food was super basic. It felt like we were at a wedding. The food was prepared on mass - picture your standard beef, veggies and potato that you might get at a wedding hall. The entire restaurant was served together. We had no option as to how we wanted out meat prepared. They left our dishes on our tables until the next course was served. The entire experience just felt dated and cheesy. And when I think about the value/experience that we got after spending over $300 including tip, it was so disappointing. Never again.

We had a lovely time at the Gladstone on Valentine's Day! The food was delicious and the timing between courses was well-scheduled. We were so pleased to find the Silk Oak Cab Sauv back on the wine list!

We recently celebrated our wedding at the Gladstone so it was a huge pleasure to return to the ballroom and soak up the welcome vibes of the staff. The food was great as always and the string trio were a great touch. So glad things got topped off with a surprise drag performance from Miss Moco. Perfect.

The best part of the drag brunch was the drag queens. We were seated promptly. The brunch
we ordered could have been much better, but the items on the plate were cold. They should be
served as soon as the kitchen has them ready. No decaf coffee was a bummer for me. and there
could have been a desert menu. Muffins, croissants, loaf cake, biscotti .....something that would
enhance the flavour of the coffee.

We loved the Family Drag Brunch! Food was delicious, our server was attentive and great with the kids, and Miss Moco made the whole family have a ball!

Service was outstanding! Food was great! Went to the drag show after at Melody Bar next door on a Thursday and it was one of the best drag shows i’ve seen. Definitely coming back here. The vibe is very trendy and relaxed and value is great!

Great service. The flavours are lush and deep. Every plate is artfully arranged with the addictive tastes that you crave and expect. The lunge to flavourful may even be to excess, at the expense of a few calories as it should be expected to. Overall the preparation masterfully teases the palate and satisfies without overwhelming it. Try the portobello avocado sandwich.

Made a reservation online for the cafe. When we arrived at the Gladstone they sat us in the bar because they said the cafe was reserved for a wedding party. Would they not have known that there was a wedding party in the cafe? If so why did they let me reserve a spot? I would have went somewhere else.

What a fantastic edge to brunch!...not to be outdone anywhere else in the city (that I know)...Myself, daughter and her partner thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and in fact when I was certainly raving about our experience to a friend, she feels that she and hers would definitely enjoy, as well...thank you so much for an awesome celebration and the food was delicious!

What could be more fun than your favorite cocktail at 10:30 on a sunday morning with a delectable brunch, while clapping and roaring away to a couple of very talented drag queens, with no cover charge!

The entertainment was great. Food was awful. The hasbrowns were frozen and reheated several times, poached eggs were rubber, the bread was days old. Not a dining experience anyone wants. Wait staff was very pleasant but forgot our orders, mixed our order's with another table and I didn't have a drink that I had order right when I got there for 20 minutes. The staff were very pleasant and nice but just unorganized. The entertainment was top notch, very funny and very on point.

We made a reservation to grab brunch and check out the artwork upstairs, not realizing that they were hosting a drag brunch. What a fun surprise! The food was great, but the drinks were pretty expensive. Overall, worth the splurge. Great for a special occasion.

Ordered vegan tacos which came out with cheese and sour cream. Was then told they could not be made vegan even though they’re advertised as so.

Perhaps my expectations were too high. The restaurant is really an old (decrepit?) pub with very little atmosphere. I took guests from out of town; the wine list is mediocre, the red wine arrived warm, and the food was good at best. Quite a disappointment and I cannot recommend. Only saving grace was our server.

Food was very average. Disappointed. Wish there were more options. The chickpea doubles really needed seasoning. My red wine braised mushroom Benny should’ve been braised in red wine. It was not it was just sautéd in oil with no seasoning/flavour. Latte was good though!

The brunch was very elegant against the backdrop of the light. The staff were professional. Their wardrobe was lacking in formality at the front door and was a bit off-putting.

The food was decent. The price was high. The experience with the website was very confusing.

The menu was very pork focused and could have been more responsive to a different taste palette. It was very Canadian in flavour but left few options like fresh salad for vegetarian clients.

In all it was a great experience.
