Grand Mongolian Hot Pot
Great flavors. I wish we had had more guidance. This was our first time at GMHP, and it was not the same as past experiences with Mongolian hotpots, because here the lid is meant to stay on the pot. My advice would be to heed the server's timing advice, add all ingredients according to the time suggested, then spoon it into your bowl -- i.e., don't think of it as a one-piece-at-a-time fondue. The single server was very (too) busy, as most of the tables were occupied. The broth (esp. the spicy broth) was very good., the meat and veg servings seemed very generous. The vegetables should have been cut into smaller pieces. Overall, an enjoyable meal, even if I did leave with an orange-polkadot shirt.
Don’t book reservations on here for this restaurant. We made one and walked in and the host told us they were full and could not seat us even tho we had a reservation. They do not update or honor reservations and a availability on open table.
Such a great spot! Food was outstanding and the service was excellent. Can't wait to go back!
It’s a fun experience, great price for a good amount of food, but there was an issue because it was a small place, and we were kind of rushed out so that the next group can sit down.
This place was great. The broth was amazing; I had the regular, and my girlfriend got the spicy. Just a few ladlefuls of her spicy broth was enough to put some kick into my regular broth. She happily melted her face off with her spicy broth.
We ordered about $30 worth of food (total), and it was enough to fill us both up and have leftovers.
The process was explained very well, and food was brought out promptly. They even had a bottle opener for us to borrow (we had forgotten ours).
I plan to come back, this was an awesome date night.
There was no explanation how to use the hot pot. We made a reservation and there wasn't a table ready for us. This was probably due to not knowing how to cook the food correctly, but the food had no flavor. We ask fro soy sauce and was handed an empty bottle. Soy sauce would have helped the 0 flavor.
Cute little hotpot place with friendly service. It feels like a family-run place.
The food was fresh and plentiful! We received a lot of meat with our order. They don't skimp! The broth was delicious.
The only reason why I took off one star is that I think the fish balls we ate had MSG. My husband has a sensitivity and got a headache that night.
