I really like the food reminds me of the old Grand Palace days down on the esplanade. Duck was good, Hong Kong prawns excellent as was the ginger shallot scallops. Not to mention the truffle rice. Only thing is that it is some what pricey
Fabulous night delicious food and great service. The ambience was excellent and it was easy to have conversation at our table of eight even though the restaurant was busy 😊
best peking duck ever. truffle fried rice was amazing but the beef was quite basic, definitely not worth $40.
Great place for business lunch, professional service. Highly recommended.
Fantastic food, great service and decor, well done guys
The Place was fantastic, service brilliant, food sensational. A quality dinning experience.
Wonderful food served by excellent staff in a very comfortable space -great duck!
I invited the General Manager of the Crown Metrapol seeing as we are all have backgrounds in multi-site Hospitality Venus, it was a pretty tough crowd.
We all agreed that it was an absolutely tremendous meal, the service (Daniel and Christine from memory) was notably attentive yet discreet, the menu was well described and our glasses (and teacups), were never empty.
Food was delicious, great variety of wines to choose form. Our waiter was very attentive and all the staff were very polite. Would definitely dine again.
Pecking duck is a must! The others are just plain.
Just took to long to get drinks, menus and then the food.
Great spot for a business lunch - the set menu is great value - high quality food
Most enjoyable experience. Great food with a good size array without being too much to confuse. Sparkling water however priced way over he top. our only small grizzle. Fabulous food.
The Grand orient was brilliant from the momment we walked in the door best service and food I have experienced in Perth .Well done to all..
Really lovely affordable food. Waiting staff were very professional.
Great value set lunch and excellent service. Food was delicious. Lovely ambience. Will definitely return. Jo
Always a pleasure dining here
We brought friends with us Saturday who agreed with us that it is a beautiful restaurant
The staff are attentive and helpful
Food is amazing and excellent value for money
I love coming here and will always recommend to my friends
Thank you for another lovely evening
The Grand Orient is one one of my favourite Chinese restaurants in Perth. The BEST Peking Duck and salt and pepper pork ribs. Menu is small - but you can always find something that you will enjoy.
Food lovely we ordered the wrong things. Go to stirfries roast meats and scallops keep away from battered seafood as the batter is very flourly.
Excellent food. Attentive service. Definitely recommend this place for all occasions.
Delightful experience for the lunch time set menu! Such great value for money for the experience and the quality of food. Can not wait to come back to try everything I didnt order!
I highly recommend the lunch special and will not hesitate to return to try their a la carte menu
Hands down best Peking duck I’ve ever had!! Would definitely recommend!
Fantastic food and service. Will be back again. Staff were very attentive and food was outstanding. Reasonably priced as well.
Lovely Chinese in a gorgeous dining room. Second time and will go back.
Highly recommend the buffet for $25. Absolutely delicious.
Amazing food, best Peking duck in Perth. Wine list was worse than poor. So disappointing. Ordered 3 different Chardonnay’s off the wine list. But none available. Waiter said they had the Leeuwin estate at $195 a bottle. ? But everything between $45 and $150 was unavailable.
We have been to Grand Orient previously and the food is just fabulous. Real Chinese. The selections and pricing are very good.
Loved the restaurant looks great and backed up by the food & service
Great night and great food again. The grand orient is Perth’s best Chinese restaurant.
Beautiful decor. Delicious food and excellent service. The only downfall was the lack of ambience and the noise level coming from the corridors surrounding the restaurant. It didn't feel as intimate as we had hoped. We would however, visit again.
Good meals and friendly service!
The portion is a bit small.
Food was fantastic The wait staff were trying very hard but there was not enough of them for a full restaurant.
Exceptional service, amazing food, outstanding atmosphere. 10/10.
Food was good as was the food service, but given for the first hour we were only table the drinks service was sub-par and inattentive due to which we decided to go elsewhere after the meal for further drinks
Wonderful food and prompt service. I would definitely recommend Grand Orient.
Peking duck was definitely a winner. I will have to go back to try out more from the menu- recommend going in a group to try multiple dishes. We had the mango pudding which was pretty average hence why I did not give 5 stars
Great food, attentive service and a stylish venue. Recommend having a drink in the front bar or heading up to the rooftop bar either before or after dinner. Will definitely be going back.
We have dined at Grand Orient a number of times. Our overall impression was that the standard of the food on this occasion was not as good as we had experienced at this restaurant previously, which was disappointing.
This hotel restaurant is horribly noisy, I can’t even talk to my family. My ears definitely hurts.
I have ordered $58 per head set dinner, we have total 5 people. The food portions were so small, can’t even feel full. I am sure there’s more restaurants options if I have to pay at that price.
Unfortunately the experience didn't match the food. We have no problems paying a premium price for good food but as a group of 4 we felt extremely rushed and basically pushed out of the restaurant. At 8.50PM we were told that the kitchen was closing at 9PM and that if we wanted more food we need to order. At that point of the evening we were actually looking at ordering another bottle of red before we moved to dessert & coffee's. We were catching up with our best friends who we don't see very often due to work commitments and my overseas travel. To be honest I was in shock that on a Saturday night the kitchen would close so early. I know we live in Perth but this is crazy. I hadn't eaten at the restaurant before but did make the recommendation as it was on my bucket list. In the end the experience went from being special to being memorable for all the wrong reasons. I travel about 90 days a year across Europe, Australia and Asia and it was just disappointing. Just for the record we left the Grant Orient and spent a further $320 on drinks & dessert. Something which we could have spend at the Grant Orient. To the Management Team please keep in mind in mind that the experience needs to match the food being plated.
