Grossi - Grill
“In my earliest memories of childhood I can see the kitchen, a place where all would come, filled with these familiar smells, and the laughter of people that love each other and with the anticipation of flavours to come”. ?Guy Grossi
The Grill is the embodiment of this, personal service and the buzz of the open kitchen creating a magnificent atmosphere. One that is centred around ‘La Griglia’, where the Grill derives its name, is always full of the finest aged meats sourced from various producers, and the constant quest for the best quality ingredients. This is a fundamental of our philosophy. The Grill is truly an extension of the Italian kitchen’s soul.
My husband and I had a lovely lunch, we chose the 3 course set menu. The staff added to making our lunch date really enjoyable, we couldn’t ask for a better experience. I’ve wanted to go to Grossi for years and I am so pleased I’ve been.
Amazing, one of the best experiences i have ever had at a restaurant. Food was outstanding, service was perfect and the whole experience is First Class
Our server was helpful in describing the meals when we had a question. She was attentive without hovering. Great atmosphere, fabulous food, lovely night.
Just delicious with fabulous service as always - best Tiramisu is Melbourne!
Overall experience... so so
My scotch fillet was unexpectedly a bit tough. Next time I would have a pasta dish.
The evening was delightful, waitress was extremely friendly and attentive to our needs. The food was exquisite, delicious and very tasty, blended with a great recommendation of wine by the waitress.
The Grill is a regular venue for when I entertain overseas friends. Quality is always guaranteed.
Maintained the usual high standard. Marco and team did a great job during the busy lunch session! Well done!
The restaurant served beautiful food. Just a little overpriced
Subtle elegance, unobtrusive attention and refined cuisine.
Our first visit for quite a while and we left disappointed as the meal was very expensive for what was really a basic meal - steak and whole fish. There are better places in Melbourne to spend that type of money.
Food was ok but there are better places to eat for the money
Traditional Italian dishes presented with flair - Tuscany would be proud of the food and presentation. Professional service- friendly without intrusive. Very comprehensive wine list featuring great Italian and Australian varieties. Tiramisu to die for- best ever eaten. Presence of Guy Grossi on the floor added to the ambience. Fine dining experience- good value, service, food, ambience all ticked. One of Melbourne’s finest and well worth the interstate trip - has been on the wish list and met all expectations.
One would think that an Italian restaurant that was as established as this restaurant is would know how to make their pasta dishes authenticity!
It was simply perfect. The best dining experience I've had in Melbourne for a long time.
The food wasn’t tasty at all. My swordfish didn’t have any flavour, and very watery... but the side dish, a salad, was way too salty, feels like they put whole bag of salt in the dish... they also got me the wrong wine, I order for a white wine, and it came out a red...
I understand it was a busy night, but all above were not professional... although we got bit discount from the manager at the end, but I truly hope the over $200 bill for two of us (no dessert) can worth better.
Great food, incredible wine list and both only surpassed by the friendly and engaging professionalism of the staff
Great food and an excellent wine selection. The service was attentive without being annoying. Like most restaurants these days it was very noisy - it was full and there were no sound deaden features. Would definitely go back.
Fabulous Melbourne institution
Service was poor, forgot dishes, never asked for more drinks after initial drinks, but kept bringing bottled water when asked not to. Food was bland. $330 for 4 pastas and 2 sides and desserts. Bread and coffee were good
Hadn’t been for many years and had fond memories however this time the food was underwhelming, and the service was average. Great wine list as usual however for the price I have had much much better food. There is plenty of competition these days and I fear Grossi’s is trading on it past reputation rather than its actual current standing.
Food was amazing Staff was so helpful. Got to see Grossi and shake his hand so nice to see the owner out there connecting with his staff and customers. So would highly recommend. Have been a few times and never get disappointed. ❤️
Unfortunately we must have dined on a bad night.
My wife and I did not experience an enjoyable night. The service was below par for a restaurant with the reputation of Grossi.
My wife ordered the scotch fillet. For $58 It was a poor piece of beef. It was dry, chewy and did not cut easily. She left almost half the steak on the plate for these reasons.
Our waiter proceeded to apologise for the "inattentiveness" this evening before pointing out where to leave a tip, should we wish.
Once again, we had high hopes for our first grossi experience, but it did not goes as expected.
Fantastic service, food & ambiance. I will be back.
Food was very nice and presented well, little disappointed where we were seated. Also having no tablecloth on our table and being wiped down with a cloth after every meal was a bit average especially when the food was just wiped on the floor. I expected more class.
Over priced for the quality and have since discovered overcharged on the bill
Great food, excellent service, but a little loud. At times conversation was difficult. The restaurant needs to look at how they can use furnishings / decor to reduce sound bouncing around the dining area.
Always great to take our Melbourne based son to Grossi’s when we fly in
Great service and lovely food
Food are not as good as before. Price is expensive compare to the quality of food.
We were warmly welcomed on arrival and given a lovely table by the window. The wait staff were attentive and helpful. The food was simple, clean and well cooked. I would have liked a little gravy with my steak, although the horseradish and mustard were nice accompaniments. The whole experience was very nice, understated and comfortable.
Absolutely Fabulous, amazing food and outstanding Service
a very welcoming restaurant, staff were very friendly and courtesy and knew their restaurant and customers made us feel as if we were at a family function. Food was of exceptional quality and prices reasonable . a great lunch, really enjoyed .
The veal rolls were a little dry- needed more of the tomato-based sauce. The fillet steak was beautiful, but the accompanying artichoke was over cooked. Overall very enjoyable
Perfect for special occasion. Never disappointing, always on top of their game.
Loved eating at Grossi Grill! It was a wonderful experience.
We went to this dinner for a special occasion is started well with nice appetisers but went down hill after that. The main reason we picked this restraunt was the pasta and unfortunately it was bland and tasteless — very overpriced for what we got. Would not go back and would not recommend.
My wife & I end up here every time we come to Melbourne, however this time I needed a place to have a Business Lunch for six. It was just fantastic! The best place in Melbourne to eat. Thank you Grossi Grill, I cannot wait to Come Back. 😋
Great view food & service - really enjoyed the music being played
The personal service from the staff was exceptional. Our waiter was divine, and the restaurant is magnificence itself!
Love the food and service couldn’t do enough for us. Always lovely to catch up with Guy Grossi couldn’t believe we saw him again - the last time we saw him was at The Garum in Perth and always makes us feel special...thanks again for the lovely night!
