Groton Station House Restaurant
Always a great experience
We were there to celebrate my daughters birthday. The cocktails were great as were the appetizers. My main course was the starker chicken and while the chicken and the broccolini were quite good, I have to say I did not care for the starch side that came with the dish by default. It was completely tasteless and had absolutely no flavor. Service was great and ambience is classy. Will return but perhaps pick something else for dinner next time.
This fairly new restaurant is an upgrade for the whole area!
Manager lost 5 customers who will tell an average of 17 people each (proven fact) about their experience. My husband's motto for our business is that the client is always right -- even when they're wrong. If one of our clients has a problem, first we get the bad taste out of their mouth and then determine if we had any part in causing the problem. If we contributed in any way, our service is free.
I was not looking for a free dinner (which she offered too late). I was basically looking for an apology, explanation or a token. Her reason for doing nothing "because I was taking my dinner home". I took my pork chop home so that I could wash it off as it was like eating a mouthful of salt. This reason totally angered me. If there had been a sincere apology and she had done something as small as taking the cake cutting fee of $7.50 off the bill, I would have been back.
We made this reservation to celebrate my 40th birthday, we invited 3 other couples that live in our neighborhood in Westford. We had an 8:30 reservation and for the most part we had a nice time until the end which will be the part that we’ll most likely share with other people when they ask how was the Station House. My wife had snuck in a cake that she had gotten for me with a picture of me on it, which was very nice. So when dessert came we all sang and then the waiter cut it up and brought everyone a slice. Then on the bill they tried to charge us $24 for a cake cutting fee! Which is outrageous and we had to catch it and the waiter said that it was an error because his manager also charged us, which still doesn’t make sense because it was 3X higher and maybe the manager should have come by to apologize but they were probably long gone because it felt like we were the last people there and it was only 10:30 on a Saturday night. The staff was already in the parking lot when we left and our server had already taken off his vest. It’s too bad because the food and atmosphere were great but the ending left a bad taste in our mouth.
We were out celebrating a birthday- the restaurant felt like eating in a large upscale cafeteria. The food was good but we left hungry. Service was great.
Tremendous service and a lovely setting! The food is thoughtfully prepared and presented and the attention to detail was very evident all around.
The service was amazing and the food was good. The ambiance was a bit off due to the really loud guy sitting next to us but the staff was more than accommodating and let us move to another table. We will be back!
Food was good, not great. Crab cakes very good. Sole a bit under cooked. Pricey for what you get. More likely to go back in warmer weather when we can sit outside for a few beers and appetizers.
Believe we we paying for the atmosphere not the food.
Beautiful decor, friendly staff, fantastic food. Worth the price for a special night out to dinner. We will be back!
This is a classy restaurant. Great tasting food and was quiet when we went. I would go back. Made for a great date night.
The food was very good but it took a long time to arrive. The restaurant was hosting a function upstairs was the reason for the delays we were told. This is a nice restaurant and should ensure better coverage and service to its dining customers when hosting an event.
Overall our dining experience was excellent. Service was a little slow but we weren't in a rush so it was fine. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was very nice.
The atmosphere is lovely. Comfortable chairs, tasteful decor, and inviting bar. Our waitress was engaging, thoughtful and funny. We had the calamari for our appetizer and it was delicious. However our main meals lacked seasoning. My husband had the steak frites and the steak was bland. My son had the duck and said it needed more seasoning. I had the mushroom ravioli which I enjoyed very much.
Waitress was great! Didn’t get her name, she said she use to work at Baileys.
It was an amazing experience and delicious food.
From the time we entered the restaurant throughout our dinner, everything was perfect. The greeter was very pleasant, addressed us immediately as we entered and our server was fabulous. Food was amazing, restaurant is just beautiful and so tastefully decorated.
The atmosphere here at the Groton Station House was reverent to an upper class clientele. A warm and inviting space where we were greeted and asked if we'd like to hang our coats. Nice touch. Our requested booth was well accustomed, quiet and adorned with a photo of the smiling John F. Kennedy. Old world charm and sophistication exuded from our surroundings. Next, the menu was a bit pricey but that is required to maintain the linen acumen. Food choices were diverse and began the salivation process. The fillet was cooked to perfection and our scallops brought an immediate smile and mmm. Scallops and clams Fra Diavlo. Uniquely superb. Mr. Chef, Great Job. The wait staff allowed guests to leisurely attend to their dining experience and drinks from the bar were..., (my Jamaican coffee with dessert... Heavenly)
We'll be back soon, Thank you

I ordered a meal for dinner and after ordering was told that they were all out. The restaurant wasn't busy so they just hadn't bothered to stay stocked on that item. No substitute was offered at the same price. I ordered the NY strip instead at a cost of $5.00 more. The steak was cooked to order but wasn't a choice cut and I would have expected that at the price of $33.00 for the plate. The wild mushrooms on the plate were delicious and the mashed potatoes were good. Service was very good and the atmosphere is lovely. I just felt that it was a bit overpriced.
Great atmosphere, food was delicious and we were not rushed. We’ll be back!
Food was superb and cooked close to perfection.
Ambiance was lovely.
Service was not up to the level one would expect at this type of establishment.
We truly enjoyed our experience at the Station House. Service was great. Steak perfectly cooked. Beautiful venue as well.
Lovely evening from waitstaff to food to atmosphere! The only suggestion I have to make the experience absolutely perfect would be to offer live background music with a guitar or piano layer!!! Wonderful evening!❤️
We went as a family for Valentine’s Day. I didn’t know what to expect, and I was impressed by the amazing staff and their attention to detail and how they catered to our every need. From the hostesses to our exceptional server, Zane, we had a fantastic dining experience. I have been telling all of my friends to try Groton Station House. The evening began with complimentary chocolate covered strawberries. My husband and I had the duck breast, and it’s the best we’ve ever had. My daughter had filet mignon from the children’s menu and it was prepared and served with the same attention to detail as an adult’s. I appreciate a restaurant that treats children with that level of respect. Kids Deserve better than chicken fingers and fries, and it’s so nice to see real, delicious food options for them. All four of us got a different dessert so we could sample several, and the winner was the crime brûlée. I cannot wait to return to Groton Station House. This is now our favorite place to go.
It’s always a pleasure visiting here.
Second time here, first time in the main dining room. Our meals (filets mignon w/asparagus shrimp cocktail & bruschetta for starters) were delicious yet unexceptional. Main courses plated without garnish. Had to ask for salt & pepper. Bread, offered at least twice, never arrived.
The main dining room is uncomfortably open, bright, and loud; not a “fine dining” ambiance. In future we will eat in the bar, which is quieter, warmer, more intimate, more conducive to conversation. Stark contrast to the coldness of the main dining room.
GSH has great potential and appears to be drawing strong numbers. As locals we’re happy to see this and we wish them every success. Just don’t look for us in the dining room.
Can’t say enough good things. Every aspect from the service to the food was excellent from the minute we walked in.
Our waiter Dean was excellent very attentive knowledgeable and friendly !! The food was delicious , fresh unique, a great wine list. The atmosphere was very inviting. Loved it.
Such a really nice place to eat out. Good food and friendly wait staff. Inside is well done! Look forward to coming back soon.
Went here with my wife for Valentine's day. The ambiance was very good, food was good, not great. Service began well then dropped off.
This was one of the best dining experiences we have ever had. Went there for Valentine's Dinner and everything was perfect.
We dined at Groton Station House last night for the first time. What a great experience! For such a busy night, (Friday night, and Valentine's Day!) they had plenty of extra staff on hand, and the service was excellent! Our waitress, McKenzie, was very friendly and extremely efficient. We were a bit concerned, since we were eating on the early side (6:15) on a busy evening, that we might feel rushed, but that was not the case, at all. All of the waitstaff were patient, friendly and polite. I ordered surf and turf, and my husband had paella. Both meals were delicious. We also ordered the clams casino appetizer which was very tasty. Also, try the Ocean Getaway cocktail. Yum! We will definitely be going back!!
Everything was just as we had ordered. Mackenzie did an excellent job as our waitress. She was very pleasant, helpful and attentive.
Good place to eat and it's quiet so you can enjoy good conversation.
Steak was not cooked the way I asked
Went back to kitchen and 2 seconds later it was still not cool medium
Went to the Groton Station House Restaurant with my wife early on a Saturday. Had a cocktail at the bar, then into the dining room for dinner. Very nice room, lighter woods, not noisy, but energetic. I had the wild mushroom torte as an app, followed with a special (monkfish, with a spicy sauce, with smoked shrimp, and mussels). My wife has the scallops app, then the duck for dinner. She very much enjoyed her meal, scallops were large and nicely cooked, and her duck was perfect. My torte was great, very flavorful. The only critique i would make is rather than having 3 'fingers' of puff pastry, a square of pastry under and/or over the mushrooms would have improved the look a bit. The monkfish special was spectacular, with the sauce being smokey, spicy (reminding me of some Iberian sauce I've had in the past (chorico-based) with a nice portion of fish and at least a dozen mussels. Again, the only critique i would have there is to have a separate bowl for the empty shells. We were too full for dessert, maybe next time! Service was excellent! We were not rushed, nor left alone for long stretches. A very enjoyable meal, and we'll definitely will be back (30 min away by car).
Need faster, more attentive bar (particularly) and wait staff.
Fantasy service and meal. We will be back.
