Hache's menu and ambiance has changed in a positive way with Chef Francois Sanchez. In fact, that is one of the reasons my friends and I chose to dine there. The dessert selection was also quite varied and delicious. Service was very attentive and the wine suggestions were greatly appreciated.
Under new ownership (same people as the Finery and Grandstander), the menu and staff have been transformed into a new must-eat for the Geneva area. I had the peppercorn steak and the squash ravioli. Both were fantastic. They are still working on updating the drink menu and wine list, but once this is complete, I think I will become a regular.
Authentic French cuisine with lots of choices of all courses.
The skate wing was superb - Francois' cooking is sublime. So glad to be eating his food again!!
Brilliant menu and delicious food and wine. Gorgeous atmosphere and top notch service
Overall, I would say that our dinner at Hache was good. However, there were some issues that made for a less enjoyable experience. I ordered an $11 glass of chardonnay which was probably the skimpiest pour I have ever been served. It appeared they were trying to get 6 glasses out of one bottle instead of 4. Another person in our party ordered a red wine and the pour was also very small. I ordered the scallop entree, priced at $27. It contained 3 scallops! It looked more like an appetizer than an entree. It was tasty, but very small. The other entrees our table ordered were generous and good (steak au poivre, ratatouille fettucine and butternut squash ravioli). Two of us at the table ordered second cocktails and waited at least 20 minutes for them. The servers didn't seem that busy so I'm not sure why it took so long. It is a pleasant and comfortable ambience, but I'm not sure I will return.
Excellently prepared French food. Friendly staff. Outstanding desserts.
Restaurant recently Reopened under new Ownership/Management. Name will soon change. Beautiful decor, very comfortable, quiet intimate dining experience. Friendly staff, Excellent Attentive service, good food. Limited menu, reasonable prices, (French cuisine) small portions ala carte. Extensive wine list.
We came for Sunday brunch to celebrate a double birthday after reading great reviews and were not disappointed. The menu had creative choices and the six of us all ordered different things and shared tastings. The Nutella waffles were great, not too sweet and the waffles stayed crisp even under all the toppings. The Black Pepper savory waffles were topped with a delicous chicken sausage and sat on a natural maple syrup. Service:OUTSTANDING! Price friendly, great ambience. Must return soon.
I believe the kitchen was having problems the day I visited. Food was good, but it took a long time. The wait staff also seemed short staffed. I might try it again to see if it was just a one time thing.
We were a little concerned at first due to a bad review, but our experience was terrific. W shared the appetizer which my wife assured me she would only nibble at as she doesn't eat sausage. I was pleasantly surprised, not by the great taste and adequate portions, but by the fact my wife ate one-half.
We each ordered the salmon and we were both very happy with the preparation, the portions were perfect and the vegetables a great match.
The proprietor had suggested a California wine that was a wonderful match with the meal. We finished with the shared bread pudding that did not disappointment.
It became very obvious that whomever authored the bad review either did not understand find dining or had some type of ax to grind.
We are already planning a return trip.
My 4th time here in a year. First two visits were excellent. The last two: food is excellent....but service was poor. Waiter took forever to bring drinks. Then after brunch we were given dessert menus, which we decided to order...but after waiting 15 minites for our waiter to return we gave up and requested our check from another waiter. Hope they get their staff up to excellent standards!
Delicious French bistro food in a tasteful, cozy, dining space. Staff was engaging and accommodating.
Great space, excellent personal service! Here's one issue, The French onion soup was just "OK". If you're a French Brasserie, the onion soup had better rock my world… It did not...
Made a reservation here for our 1st wedding anniversary.
Beautiful interior with wine being the main focus and lovely decor throughout, great lighting.
Open kitchen, which I like. We easily had good conversation throughout the evening.
Great choices and the specials were even better, I could not decide, I wanted to try them all. Salad greens were fresh and not overdressed. Steak was great, had a little salted char crust and great flavor. Halibut was just perfection. The portions were great size, great balance in flavor and price was on point.
Service was great! Roman was on dual duty. Charming personality, never missed a beat, not pushy at all. We would be friends with him if we were cool enough.
...already planning to return to try the brunch menu.
Great place. Food was amazing, fresh and very unique presentation. Our waiter could have used a little more knowledge on the wine pairing and selection but overall he did a great job and we settled on a good choice of wine.
Planning a chef table event for December.
Great Eggs Benedict! Very tasty breakfast potatoes.
The food was cold, it took hours to get our food, and the food we did get was the wrong food and just okay.
HAVING DINNER AT HACHE WAS A SHEER DELIGHT. I HAVE TO HONESTLY SAY I HAVE NOT HAD FOOD THIS GOOD IN YEARS. THE FOIE GRAS WAS OUTSTANDING. THE HALIBUT WAS DELICATE AND SO FLAVORFUL. THE SWEETBREADS WERE COMPLETELY SO DELICIOUS. THE EVENING WAS SO PLEASURABLE, I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL WE RETURN AND WE LIVE ABOUT THIRTY MILES AWAY. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ANYONE FOR A GREAT EXPERIENCE OF DINING YOU WILL HAVE. LAST BUT NOT LEAST OUR WAITRESS WAS SO PROFESSIONAL, WARM AND CHARMING. I WAS ALSO IMPRESSED WHEN THE OWNER CAME OVER AND MADE SURE WE HAD EVERYTHING NEEDED FOR SUCH A DELIGHTFUL EVENING.
Loved this beautiful French restaurant! We walked there from our home! Delicious food and excellent service! We will be back!
Consistently good food and service. Great asset to the neighborhood.
Surprisingly good upscale restaurant without the very upscale price. The place is very well decorated and quiet, even with all the people inside. Music complements but doesn't overwhelm. Salmon was great and a nice portion. Also had a French sandwich which was unique and very tasty. Creme Boule was very good. We will go back.
It was very nicely decorated. We were greeted upon entering the door. The wait staff was good. Although it seemed like there was a lot of staff standing around. The were not a lot of patrons when we dined here.
The food was excellent.
Wonderful food and service. Interesting dinner menu in that it had traditional entrées as well as sandwiches. I think they may be struggling a bit with the type of restaurant they want to be. am guessing that they are trying to appeal to folks that might have families (with the sandwiches) as well as adults only. Either way, we really liked it. The brisket sandwich was delicious. Thought the ravioli was a bit more average but certainly very good. Nice wine menu and good cocktails.
3 couples (best friends since high school) get together every 2-3 months, trying a new locale each time. This was the best experience so far. Very elegant, yet comfortable atmosphere. The semi-private area in which we were seated made us feel like we were in a friend's lovely dining room. We've had wonderful meals in many places, but the combo of being able to enjoy a wonderful meal, and enjoy being able to HEAR everyone at the table meant so much to us! Anyway, the food was magnificent, the atmosphere very chic, and the service was impeccable. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
Nobody else has food this good in Geneva, period. We are foodies and love creative French food and adding fantastic service and a beautiful decor. We were blown away. It started with great wine, big selection. Then, our server walked us thru the menu. Trust me, you need this step. I'm a super experienced cook who knows French yet even I didn't recognize some things. Highlights of our meal were CHARCUTERIE BOARD, HALIBUT, SEARED SCALLOPS -perfection. We almost skipped dessert, a mistake, but decided to try a chocolate dessert with Smores, warm and covered in gelato...yamm ...another winner.
Bottom line: try this place, you will enjoy every bite.
Food and service we impeccable.
We had an excellent dinner. steak Friites , cooked to perfection. Spinach Ravoli which was delicious. Server Carter did a very good job attending our table. Manager Bob and Hostess Michelle stopped at our table as well. Great service.
Loved the food? Service and atmosphere. Will definitely be back.
Friendly attentive service. The food was delicious. It was quiet, but they were not busy when we were there, as we at lunch a bit late in the day. Good traditional French menu. Their outdoor area was cute, but it was hot the day we were there. They had very nice wine selection by the glass. I'd definitely return.
Service was friendly and attentive. Food was delicious. Wine list ample and diverse. We will be back, our new French restaurant in the area.
Great food loved the French onion soup made authentic!!!! Very friendly service by the waiter and hostess!!!
Impressive space, excellent food, confusing as all get out service. 7:30 reservation on a Friday night. Patio full, dining room 2/3 empty. Drinks ordered . . . arrived 30+ minutes later. Was obvious the place was short staffed. Night went on forever which is super-unfortunate as the food and drinks were excellent. The room is beautiful. While very friendly, I cannot imagine why ownership/management doesn't properly staff. Sadly, seen this before . . . when a place is heading out, harder to find competent wait staff to work. I hope this isn't the case as this place is very, very good and worth the hassle.
This was our second visit. The first was a brunch outdoors. The food was unique and tasty without being complicated and fussy. The waiter was a pleasure. Our Second visit (Aug. 19th) was on my wifes birthday. Living in Naperville we have no shortage of fine restaurants to choose from. My wife choose Hache without hesitation. We were not disapointed. Bravo!
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our recent meal at this quaint restaurant. The staff was very hospitable and accommodating, and the food was superb. The seared scallops we ordered were perfectly prepared by the talented chef, and the new menu has many other interesting offerings to explore. This restaurant is a gem that deserves accolades and success.
The food was great, but small portions. The menu said that there was an apple & frisee salad, it was just a garnish, not what I was expecting.
I went with a friend who is particular about what she eats, the chef accommodated her wishes.
Check this place out! Good food, great service and excellent ambiance! Well done!
Unfortunately, I think they will be closing if they don't get more patrons. The portions are not as large as before and many things that you order they don't have in stock even though you will be there by 7:30 PM. Their meat and cheese plate is fantastic when we were there about two months ago. We didn't order at this time, but it would've been nice to know if they still give the same types of meats and the same large portion size.
Great overall experience. Food and service were terrific and would highly recommend!
